8x20 vs 10x25 binoculars | Optics Trade Debates 

My Swarovski 10x25 are my favourite binos ever. Amazing clarity, light & compact. They go with me everywhere. Earlier in life I used binoculars professionally both in the military and for some years as a lookout on ships, so I am not completely new to binoculars. Specifically for bird watching my wife's Swarovski 10x32 are better, but you wouldn't take them with you 24/7 like I do with mine.

The 10x Swarovski ! But next time, make the field of view a little bigger swaro.... with a new 10x 25 ( with extra coating and some tweaks here and there...)model. Talking about new 10x25 model... are there plans to make a nieuw 10x and 8x pocket models?? Thanks for the tip.

In this category unlike you suggested the Leica Ultravid 8x20 BR shines out. Hands down there are no better pocket binoculars than that Leica! ;)

I would add that you need to have steady hands for these 10x binos. If you can find some way of bracing them against a tree, rock or pole it certainly helps reduce the image shaking. Because the field of view is narrower, the shake is also magnified.

8x25 are the best allround, but if you have a bit more experience and " seeing more details/ scanning for details is your thing, (you need a little more patience though ) then the 10 might be for you I think😉 but next time I hope that Swarovski ( are they Russian?...kidding) can make the field of view bigger without lost of quality on other places....thanks for the tip.

The 8x25 is best of both worlds. But you need to go higher with price for comfortable use. Zeiss Terra ED at least.
