@@Joshua-Samarita Absolutely it was. It was an attack from the proud Boys and the Boogaloo Boys, White racists and institutionally racist police who hunted down Black people and peaceful protestors who watched a dirty cop and three cowardly cops do Jack while a police officer knelt on the George Floyd’s neck and murdered him in cold blood. January 6th insurrection was an attack led by trump of cowardly White racist republicans who tried to take away our Democracy and were incited to do so by the biggest most ignorant man of all, the puny Donald j trump. And were looking to hang Mike pence and shoot Pelosi. The attacks of the summer of 2020 were made up of the same deplorable led by the same dolt.
Me too. I remember I was like 17 when this happened, and I was glued to the tv, and I actually cried on this. And here I am, tearing up again. I miss this level of unity. I had no idea that I had just witnessed something truly spectacular. I don't see us ever doing this again.
@@billbombshiggy9254I feel like the next thing that could possibly happen wouldn't have the ability to do this type of shoulder to shoulder type event because of everything going on in the world today. We'd only have 30 minutes or so and then that'd be it.
It's weird how time plays tricks with your memory. I remember watching this scene the night of 9/11, but I would have sworn they sang the entire song, not just what is recorded here.
19 years and a hell of a lot of drama later… And it still gives me chills and I turn into a big sniffling pile of emotion from the singing part onward I wish we could have that sort of unity again… But it doesn’t look like it’s gonna be a thing anytime soon. I suppose it’s easier to come together when we have an enemy that is an outsider for lack of a better word… It must be much more difficult to address the contentious among our own country…. It’s easy to focus whatever emotions on the outsider that it is to focus on us I hope I making sense
The most impressive thing was that the first voices raised in song, came not from the front and center, but from an unexpected spot, but from the heart, and pointed the way for all to follow. GOD BLESS AMERICA 🇺🇸
Takes an awful, giant, historic terrorist event to bring us together. It's a sad thing. But this was such a beautiful moment. I remember it so well. Glad it's here to watch again.
I were five years old when getting the news of the first tower being hit. At that point in time the kids were loaded back onto the bus & taken home. When I got home, I saw on Good Morning America the North Tower burning, I was scared, confused & didn't understand why it happened, frankly I still don't understand to this day. Wasn't until the towers fell that I started crying then my late Father held me. I could live 100k years & never forget. I had nightmares until I tuned 16, the nightmare was me watching it all on live tv only to be transported to ground zero the moment the towers start to collapse
I genuinely wish we could come back together as a country as tightly as we did post 9-11. I don't want another tragedy. I just want to feel a togetherness with my fellow citizens again and less riots in the streets and such.
This may sound crass, but God I miss this. We were so united. If you had told me back then, that this is where we would be with each other in 2023, I'd never have believed you My Gen Z son and Gen Z brothers in law had no idea that this part had happened and were absolutely blown away that Democrats and Republicans stood side by side and sang a pro America song. It absolutely blew them away. It was unthinkable to them.
I completely agree with you there - if you were to tell us on September 10th, 2001 that we would have this sort of thing where all Americans come together, you'd be laughed at for even saying it out loud.
That song always makes me cry. It’s so beautiful. We sang it as children in our classroom. We need to bring back love of God and country! That’s what is missing. Love of God and love of our country. 🇺🇸✝️❤️
XDDD, i wasn't even alive, but were all TV cameras terrible in 2001? I've seen ppl w personal cameras have a lot better quality than stations like CNN, ABC, NBC, MSNBC...
One of the definitions of "justified" is "having been proven correct." I understand the confusion, because it certainly has more baggage today (a connotation of "finding an excuse"), but its use to mean "having been proven correct" is common religious vernacular that I would expect someone of his age representing Midwestern republicans to have in their vocabulary.
Disingenuous? Do you not remember what that time was like? What the days and months to follow were like? We eventually pulled ourselves back apart, but at this moment, I have no doubt they meant every word. We all did.
America was under attack. Thousands of innocent civilians just died in a deliberate attack on our nation so I don’t think that is “fanning the flames”.
Why are MAGAts so afraid to think for themselves? Why do you allow “the party” and the representatives to dictate your thoughts, words and actions? I was at home on Jan 6, 2021. I was sitting there, watching folks commit felonies, because using a police shield to break a window at the capital is destruction of federal property, which is a felony, which means years in prison. I am not one of those who have been arrested, tried in court, CONVICTED and I’m not going to be in prison for the next 4-20 years. And because I’m not going to be in prison when 2024 arrives, I’ll be able to vote. Because those in prison, can’t vote. Do you really think, if biden had lost: he’d still be having a temper tantrum over it? he’d be blaming someone else for “being a coward”? He would have filed 60+ lawsuits that were dismissed, because THERE’S NO PROOF THE ELECTION WAS STOLEN? He’d be encouraging his most ardent followers to, still, two years later, be angry? No? All that was done by a GOP? Ok, thought so.
4:28 where they mentioned Morgan Stanley.I heard about their story and Rick Rescorla on 9/11. Morgan Stanley was one of the fortunate companies on 9/11 they had a good security team in the South tower that morning on 9/11 and on the morning on 9/11 Rick Rescorla decided let the employees escape to safety even thought the Port Authority told him not to which saved the lives of almost all of the company that day even though he could just have saved himself or kept workers in the workers in their offices like other bosses on 9/11 which claimed lives for workers in other companies in the Twin towers which then could have doubled the death told for 9/11.
