My family truly appreciates you. It's hard to pay for private coaching sessions, but with your videos I'm able to help my boys practice and learn more. You ARE A BLESSING SIR.
Didn't draft a really good player because during tryouts he refused to help pick up balls. He made another team and that coach regretted it. Bad attitude all year. It's hard to fake a good attitude.
Thank you Coach Justin, I used to be pretty good at track but my friends play baseball and I always liked playing it and watching it. I really hope I can make the team this year!
I'm an example of how number 4 can be important, I wasn't a very good baseball player but being smart and having the grades to back it up was one of the reasons I made varsity, coaches sometimes look out for those intelligent kids to have them on the roster
Great video. Spot on! If you are a player going to a tryout, listen to Coach Justin and his 9 tips. Dress the part, hustle and go prepared. Thanks Coach for sharing these tips. Love your videos.
Wow... Coach Justin, you don’t know how much I wish I would have watched this video with my son before his tryout last night. We pretty much did everything wrong... it was a disaster but honestly, mostly it was my fault. We had never done a tryout before and didn’t know what to expect. Had I seen this video prior to going, we for sure would have been a lot more prepared. But at least now we know for next season and thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge with your viewers.
Ultimate Baseball Training Oh for sure... thank you so much for the awesome videos you make. And how much does this suck? Turns out my son was in the beginning stages of the flu for his tryouts. He woke up yesterday with a fever and sore throat, by end of the day we were driving him to the urgent care clinic where he tested positive for the flu. So he’s just in bed right now. But I’ll let him know Coach Justin responded to my comment about his tryout and I’m sure he’ll be over the moon happy. Thanks again...
Coach Justin. ..you've probably heard this before..... but you use the exact same verbiage that I use when giving instructions to my players....its uncanny. ...good stuff coach
Coach Justin your videos are so incredible and I've learned so many things and have improved my game because of you. I think it would be cool if you made a video of showing how to prepare for a game...?
Awesome vid sorry for the late comment and yeh I agree with the 9 try out secrets i love then ive done those since i started ive recomended them billoins of time and my tryouts are jan.25
Ultimate Baseball Training. Not for a couple months but he's doing some indoor training at SUNY Canton University. He loves your videos....this is great because he won't listen to dad lol.
Right now I have to pick between track or baseball for high school. The thing is that the school had a travel team for the freshman over summer that was for the kids that played travel ball for years ( I was not in because I just played to local league in town ). And I just feel that those kids that were on that team would be favored by the coaches no matter how good i play during tryouts. Even though some of them are a little better than me I can still definitely compete with them. The thing with track is that I am a pretty good runner (I can definitely make track), but id really rather do baseball. And I can only tryout for one. what should i do?
Honestly I think that's a question only you can answer. Why would you only be able to tryout for one? I would try to talk to the athletic director or coaches about that. At the end of the day, it comes down to what YOU want to do. Not me, not your parents, but YOU. If you truly want to play baseball, then I would try to play baseball!
Is it that baseball and track are competing during the same time of year. ...it would be hard to train for both sports and homework and family duties . ..all that stuff comes into play when you try to play two sports going at the same time.....the athletes that are able to do that are freaks of nature and just beasts
When he talked about the attire I remembered I wore shorts on day 1 and leggings the next 2 days cause I couldn't afford to get softball pants. I still can't get softball pants and tryouts are next month.
I going to play baseball with my friend when Covid-19 ends I can't wait and I also want to play in the MLB and play with the Texas Rangers my favorite team I will for sure use this when Covid ends and yea.
I would listen to your arm. I'd recommend long toss 3-4x per week. If your arm feels good, go for it. If you need a rest, then allow yourself to have a quick break.
Hey, what would you do in the winter to get ready for next season, and next year’s tryouts? I had tryouts a week ago and would like to know so I can be better for next year.
I would focus on getting bigger, faster, and stronger. Spend a lot of time in the weight room and come back next year with a transformed body. I would also focus on improving my weaknesses while continuing to build my strengths!
I go to batting cages a lot And I go throw catches outside as Well as condition myself what other tips do I need and this is my first time playing baseball as an actual sport
Hi coach, I know I’m very late. My tryouts are in a month and I’m already really nervous. I work out 3-6 days a week and practice almost every day in the spring and summer. I also practice basketball in the fall along with baseball. I was about the 5th best player on my travel team last year(my team takes 12.) I am very nervous because I love baseball and I never want to be on a b team. Also, for the second year in a row we are going to a very very nice tournament that I loved last year. I gained a bit of confidence from your video but am still very nervous. I always have done or try to done everything on your list. Any other suggestions or ideas to be less nervous for tryouts?
I recommend you begin working on your baseball skills each day, plus lift weights and get some sprints in. Try to hit/throw/work on defense at least 3-4x per week and lift weights 3-4x per week as well. I would just add 5-10 short, explosive sprints to the end of your training sessions.
Hey coach, so I’m trying out for baseball in a couple of weeks and I’m like super brand new to this whole thing is there any other tips for like beginners that are really brand new to this sport??
I would say just follow the advice in this video and practice as much as you can before tryouts. Make sure you're in a good shape physically. Try to hit every day and continue to get better. Throw as much as possible, take ground balls and fly balls etc. If you can, find someone who's been playing baseball for a while and have them workout with you. They will be able to help you with the fundamentals!
Justin, my tryouts are on Saturday and I’m wondering what I can else I can do. I’m a middle infielder.Any drills I can do? I’ve already done a few. I’ve used the dumbbell one, the towel drill, and just catching flys and pops and fielding ground balls. Anything else I can do?
I would make sure that your arm is in good shape. Try to throw a little each day to get ready for Saturday.. nothing too intense, just get your arm loose. I'd also get your legs in shape a little bit so maybe a few sprints. Lastly, just take as many ground balls as you can and hit as much as you can. Reps, reps, reps. Confidence comes from being prepared!
I’ve only ever played local ball and I want to elevate my game and go play AAA or any other higher level. I feel like I’m pretty good but I don’t know what the other players will think. Should I go try out?
hie coach justin when are the next baseball tryout.my name black jack i would like to come and partispate for baseball trials but i leave in africa zimbabwe.what must i do to come
Seeing this and giving it to my son who is in 7th grade about to tryout with his middle school team. Unfortunately he is going against reclassified kids, so he is legit 12 and others are 13,14,15. Has the drive a d heart just not that natural ability. Wish him luck!
What do you feel like you need the most work on? I would be throwing, hitting, and getting ground balls/fly balls every day. I'd also make sure you're running sprints so you can get your legs in shape! Just focus on sharpening your skills all around
Tryouts Saturday extremely nervous can you give me tips just need to work on my arm and tiny bit of hitting I’m a freshman i know I can compete with most of them but still nervous
Hey man! First of all, relax! Just relax and breathe. You've got this! There's not much time to work on your throwing velocity, but you should throw over the next couple days to get your arm in shape and ready. I would also hit every day off the tee and possibly live if you can. Try to show equal love to every area of the strike zone
Thanks bro! Btw forgot to mention it’s next Saturday not this week spent entire afternoon taking live pitching so I can get timing right anyways thanks for the tips in video!
You think its a good idea to not tryout this season? My coach told me to work on hitting. He told me my defense was solid though. If i do take time off im gonna mainly focus on hitting
I would tryout if I were you, because you never know! There's nothing that compares to actually playing in real games, so the best way for you to get better is to make the team and just continue to grind each day, continue to see live pitching, etc.
My tryouts were today and our coaches didn’t want us to throw hard because the kids who make the team the pre season starts 2 weeks after today so he didn’t want us to throw our arm out
Show up early ha if your good you make it 8 things be good 7 be good 6 be good 5 be good 4 be good 3 be good 2 and 1 be good if your good his 8 steps of Bullshit goes out the door he knows it and the coaches it's just the way it is be good this is a video for kids and parents who spend 1000s trying to get kid to the next level it's like a nfl try out combine lets see if we missed anything pssssst cause they already know who's good and who's going to make it
Give it all you got and never give up! There's nothing wrong with being that guy. Give it your all. Left foot, right foot. Just keep going one step at a time.
EJ Moorer In that case, you aren't ever supposed to win. All you can do is try to stay in as long as possible and try to force a bad throw without getting interference called on you.
Why no lifting weights? I'd recommend weights for sure. They are safe for any player at any age as long as they lift properly with good form. I'd also recommend swinging a heavier bat to build more bat speed and strength. Some bats feel better than others, so find a bat that works well for you too!
Any person who likes baseball enough has heard of Babe!🤣 and if you don't it doesn't mean you don't like baseball but it just means you don't like it that much! (Not Trying To Be Rude To Anyone!)
