Ben took a 6-10 team in 2003 to a 15-1 and an AFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME in 2014.. and then won a Super Bowl the next year. To say he had it made is utterly ridiculous. Tommy Maddox would not have done that.. he never had.

so hold up a second here. they are penalizing ben for "having a great team" and comparing to Matt ryan because he took a "bad team" to the playoffs his rookie year? interesting, considering the Falcons were the 2nd ranked running team in the nfl during Ryan's rookie season and while 24th in total yards allowed, they were 11th in points allowed. meanwhile, other than the addition of duce Staley in the offseason, that "great steelers team" that ben played on went 6-10 the prior season, the only reason they were even able to draft him. While the Falcons did go 4-12 the season before drafting Matt ryan but much like Pittsburgh bringing in Duce Staley, Atlanta brought in Michael Turner who only ended up as an all pro on the first team in Ryan's rookie year. to say that ryan "took" a "bad team" to the playoffs while ben "was carried" by a great team is pretty ridiculous

In reality the Steelers did NOT have even a very good running game in 2004. They were 19th in rushing Yds/Att while the Cowboys this year were 3rd. Just because a team runs the ball a lot does not mean they they are very good at it which was the case in Pittsburgh during Big Ben's rookie season. Ben's playmaking ability converted a lot of key 3rd downs in 2004 which went a long way towards the Steelers turning around a bad 6-10 record in 2003. Ben won 26 straight starts during 2003 & 2004 including his last 13 starts in college. "Game managers" don't do that for TWO different teams. Great QBs do that.

All those biased NFL know-nothing talking heads never mentioned that the Steelers were 6-10 the previous season and were on their way to no better than 8-8 in 2004. He was thrusted into the starting lineup without notice. He was not prepped in training camp or pre-season like all the other rookie QBs since who have had success. During his first 10 seasons he was the best PLAYMAKER in the NFL not just a "play extender" like the media talking heads will always call him. In 2004 he set the NFL record for rookie QBs in passer rating and comp. % while winning a league leading FIVE 4th quarter comebacks. Oh, and after that only P. Manning IN THIS CENTURY finished more seasons in the top 5 in passer rating than Big Ben (and all those who will say that rating is no big deal will be the first ones to mention his rating in his 1st super bowl). Among all time QBs who have won more than one NFL title his career number of 7.9 is 4th in the single most telling passing stat (most coaches agree) which is YdsPerAtt. BTW, none of those QBs ahead of him are named Brady, Manning, Montana, Unitas, Aikman, Bradshaw, Elway or Starr.

Ben roethlisberger is one of the best Quarterback Of all time. Throughout his career he is made plays that I think no nobody not even Peyton Manning or Tom Brady could have made. Throwing the ball extremely well in big games while dodging linebackers is what makes him impressive. Tom Brady didn't have to dodge Ray Lewis and Terrell Suggs of the Ravens twice and every year some years three times. Three of his favorite targets the throat you are going to become NFL Hall of Famers Hines Ward Heath Miller and Antonio Brown.

Some of Ben's records may never be broken. He deserves far more credit than he is given. Watched a video this past week with Terry Bradshaw who talked about a recent phone he had with Ben and indicated that they shared a great conversation and that Terry has changed his feeling about where Ben came from that Terry had criticized some of Ben's wreckless past decisions when we was young, while Terry acknowledged Ben's great talent. Terry was then asked who he thought the best Steelers QB is, Ben or himself and Terry looked the interviewer in the eye and said that even though he had won more Super Bowls that he feels that Ben is the best Steeler Quarterback of all time. That interview had me crying. God Bless Terry and Ben. Both of them are class acts for sure.

The difference Ben made when he arrived was substantial, despite the less than amazing stats. Maddox, Brister, O'Donnel, Tomczak, Stewart (etc.) all had the advantage of playing for the Steelers organization and it's tendency for strong defense and a power RB.

Rookie Ben actually WON a playoff game against Jets! Rookie Ryan...? Which QBs rookie season was more indicative of their ensuing career? Ben was, in that first season, who he has become. Two rings. Franchise records. Hall of Fame. It was all there in 2004. Ended Pats 21 game win streak. No rookie has taken a team further. Maybe Ben's not Ryan, but I bet he's glad he isn't.

Many unqualified so-called "experts" here. Anyone who doesn't know how good Sid Luckman was has no business ranking the 50 best QBs of all-time in which Luckman was completely omitted. Luckman was the first T-formation QB and led the NFL in passer rating 3X, led the Bears to 4 NFL championships and finished his career with the still 2nd highest career Y/A at 8.4 only behind the incomparable Otto Graham. The fools who think that ridiculously over-hyped Matt Ryan is even a remotely close to Big Ben forget or simply don't know that Ryan played & still does play MORE than half of his games INDOORS and as a rookie still wasn't close to Big Ben's rookie passer rating, Y/A, Comp.% and had fewer TDP & fewer 4th qtr comebacks. In addition he, of course, lost FIVE games to Ben's ZERO loses. I haven't even mentioned the gigantic difference in their play-making abilities in which Big Ben has no equal in this century.

Think we should look at the body of work until this point too. Ben came in and won 15 straight games. That’s impressive, and he’s had a hall of fame career. Matt Ryan has put up numbers but never won the big game and probably never will. He’s a slightly above average QB who’s had a few good seasons with the right weapons around him.

Fun fact: this Sunday will be the first time that Tom Brady and Ben Roethlisberger have squared off in the postseason since the Patriots knocked them out and handed Ben his first loss that rookie season.

A local restaurant called Prinasties Bros has a sandwich based on Big Ben, according to their website the 'Forcehisburger' is made with "100% forced beef injection". Reviews are mixed, most of the women don't actually like it, but oddly, male Stiller fans "really enjoy it". One review stated he "liked how full he felt after the generous portion!" and that he would "be back for more because it doesn't matter how they force the beef since he is a successful football player." Another wife reviewed stated "the taste was awful, it felt forced, like someone had their hand on the back of my head while I was trying to enjoy it, no thanks." In the end the negative reviews will be ignored and the sandwich will remain on the menu .. because he is a successful football player.

Just hopefully find a replacement within a season of then, certainly haven't come close yet. Maybe snap up a solid journeyman to fill the gap until they do, one of the few teams Fitzpatrick (no relation) hasn't played for.

I dont understand how they say matt ryan led his team to the playoffs even if they were a bad team, it doesnt make sense, a quarterback cant just lead a dysfunctional team to the playoffs, its a group effort
