Yes, most of these are stellar motors. I get it. Hell, I even have one. But, the names like nailhead, rat motor and Windsor or Duntov….. those were the days!
Toyota 2UZ-FE 4.7L, found in their Tundras, Sequoias, and some other in the Toyota lineup between 2000 and 2012. Also the Ford 300cid inline 6 found in their pickup trucks, the Buick Lesabre with 3.8L, the Toyota 5.7L v8, just to name a few. But my pick would be the 2UZ-FE 4.7L. Great video, thanks!
I had 2 F150s with the 300cid. I put over 1/2 million miles on my 82 and nearly 700K on my 96. Zero to 60 in 15 minutes 😂, but would run 70 and 80 all day long. Replace the valve cover gasket about every 120K miles, change the oil and spark plugs and they ran forever. I put over a million miles on my 78 Mercedes 240D.
You forgot about the 3.5L V6 from Toyota. If you take care of them, they’ll last more than 300K miles. I had one in my 11 RAV4 Limited 4WD , sold it to a friend who now has 315K miles on it and still doesn’t burn oil. I’ve got on in my 23 Tacoma TRD Off Road, but it still has low mileage.
@@Erelyt 👍 Yes my 11 RAV4 Limited 4WD with the 269 horsepower 3.5L V6 looks like a sleeper, but it hauled ass. The governor kicks in at 125mph… How do I know? Because I had it there often on Montana roads. When you mash that pedal to the floor, it flat out gets up and Goes ! I LOVED my RAV4. I sold it when I bought my 23 Tacoma TRD Off Road double cab 6’ bed with the premium and technology pkgs. I installed a cold air intake and the OTT. It now has 318 horsepower and 295 lb ft of torque at 2,300 RPM. My Tacoma scoots too, but it’s not as fast as my old RAV4. I sold it to a friend of mine who usually pushes it to 100mph. He Loves how quick it is as well.
VW VR6, never left me stranded. Just account for timing chain maintenance and it will run for ever. And swap the crack pipe to the aluminum version and it is solid!
Great list l do agree with this list of engines but you you didn't cover the 22R/RE engine but l did like the inclusion of the Mercedes Benz W123 300 D what an engine l have driven a Mecedes Benz ute with this 5 cylinder turbo diesel and the performance was adequate but they go for ever when Mercedes Benz built decent reliable cars
Fox Body Mustang 5.0 V8 Lotus Elise without the Supercharge though chassis is Questionable. Anything Between 1990 to 2008 before the Recession except 4 cylinders on Dodge or Ford I currently drive a 2018 Mustang GT 5.0 V8, with a 111,000 + miles still no issues and get 28 mpg on the highway staying 65 mph limit +/- 2 mph I had a neighbor with the 350 cubic in engine and every year he had to have it replaced for 1984 Camaro IROC-Z.. What I noticed due to working in Engineering. They would repair the holes or cracks on the Block by Welding, then blending, then hiding the Defects by Painting the Engine. The Paint acts as a Blanket Preventing Engine from getting air, or Prevent Heat from Escaping, thus causing failure. Though, also, the change in Temperature causes expansion and cracks would open up again . 👨🏻👍🏻🏎️🏁🚩🌲⛰️... Don't ever get a painted replacement, or even paint or plate the engine and transmission. They will break, (seen a DeTomaso Pantera Chrome plated Engine & Transmission and never seen it again.
