I liked both Thrasher and Transworld, back in the day, you could only get so much without the internet etc. so another magazine showing up that had more articles and pics was only a good thing.

I started skating in 84 so I have tons of old Thrasher and Transworld, Big Brother, Power Edge, and any others. The best are any from the 70’s and 80’s. Those are the true classic and epic ones imo. I also have tons of snowboarding and surf mags from the same eras.
Dude! I grew up in Kenosha Wisconsin, and I used to check out transworld mags from my middle school library too! I remembered being shocked that they not only had transworld, but current issues there. I was less rebellious than you though and returned them all. This was in the golden age of skateboarding (in terms of the number of skaters) so I knew other people would wanna read them.
I have read about him. The under the bridge photo with Matt Hensley, the cowboy hat roof and he even had a trick tip in the old Thrasher where he backflips from a swing with a skateboard

The best cover Thrasher had was Rodney Mullen is doing a Ollie in the 80s that made me say wtf how he doing that ,l didn't know what an Ollie was at the time,didnt know how to do them from that picture then a month later went to the NYcity seen skaters doing them to ledges up curbs from that point was determined to learn that trick took a few months to learn them
