You are genius! I learn many things about homebridge automation from your videos. Can you please find a solution for Philips hue sync box homebridge automation for HomeKit support please? I tried myself but I couldn’t get the solution. I will waiting for your video solution about hue sync box 😊
Hi Eddie, I’ve said This before but you are an absolute godsend, you make these homebridge install, setup, tweaks so simple, accessible by giving clear and coherent advice. How can I schedule a session with you
I'm so glad I found your channel. I'm just starting my Smart Home Journey. I have a Google Nest Thermostat, Ring Security with cameras, and Plan on getting a Phillips Hue system and smart refrigerator. I'd like to use the Apple Home app as my one app. As you can imagine I'm using multiple apps and I'd like to simplify things. Sounds like Homebridge is a great starting point for me. From what I've researched it looks like I need to buy an Apple Home Hub. For HomeBridge I'm going to start by using my MacBook Pro and then build a Rasperry Pi or whatever makes sense, basically dedicated to run HomeBridge. If anyone has any recommendations I'd love to hear. Thank you. Keep up the great work.
You can use your exsiting Mac computer to install Homebridge - however that device needs to be on 24/07. And yes you can bring all those brands within one app. Good luck on your journey ! Need any assistance - feel free to update this comment or email at info@buildasmarthome.org
@@eddiedsuza Thank you for the reply, much appreciated. Quick update. I've successfully integrated my Ring Security system / cameras, MyQ garage door, and Google nest thermostat via Home bridge. Everything is working great. Next I'm going to set up a Raspberry Pi so my MacBook doesn't have to run everything 24/7 as you noted. I've also integrated Matter devices to HomeKit natively. The luxury of having my porch light on a schedule is awesome, it's the little things that bring joy and mitigate stress. I've also set up several automations for when the last person leaves the house etc. I love it. After I do that I'm going to play around with Home Assistant. Keep up the great work. I'll watch more videos to learn and draw inspiration. Thank you.
Hi Eddie, love your video. Great work. I started to love HomeKit though new to this. Now, how to enable eufy 2k wireless doorbell to work with HomeKit? Do I need a hub or something to connect eufy camera to work with HomeKit so I can access function such as Siri and Shortcuts. Thank you I’m adv be for your suggestions.
Hey Patrick - can you try out this link to add your Eufy devices github.com/homebridge-eufy-security/plugin/wiki/Installation-and-Configuration#installation
Hey Jamarcus - you will need to use an equivalent Homebridge plugin to control your google devices. Currently theres no way of doing it via Homebridge ... You can ONLY control Homebridge devices from google.
Another point , have you managed to control the Samsung tv fully ? I tried to do an automation for shutdown, but it keeps going for the gallery mode ( I have Samsung frame here ) 😕 … thanks again for the awesome videos you make ! Very interesting and informative
Thanks Eddie, my HOOBs system is running great because of your videos. Keep the videos coming. I am struggling with my Samsung TV. I am going to go and watch that video to see I can get it up and running today. Have a good weekend.
Appreciate the feedback. I do have a streamdeck - however since MAC is an Apple Silicon - the plugin developer says that Streamdeck needs to do something to make his homebridge plugin work ... So its not working and more information can be found here github.com/sergey-tihon/streamdeck-homebridge/issues/18
Can you please do a video on how to configure/run the Apple TV on off switch plug-in? I have the HOOBS box and I have already installed the plug-in but I know nothing about code or how to run/configure plugins
Hello Carter .. seems like from iOS 15 - the plugin doesnt support the feature. There is a work around that i am currently checking prior to making a video
@@eddiedsuza the Wemo plug-in just started working randomly :) now I’m having trouble with the Wyze plug-in , it keeps crashing and restarting over and over again, I’m getting an error message about RGB colors
Hi Eddie. I saw this awsome video. Thank you for it. I have Alexa Speakers, Google Speakers and Homepod Speakers. Is there any way that all of them can play together synchronized? I added an Alexa Studio to an airport express but it does not sync to the other homepods and play in delay. Another way to solve this problem would be to have the Alexa and Google speakers (echo dot etc and my Google Speakers) to be exposed to Home app. I saw a home bridge plugin caled alexa player. This will enable alexa speaker to play via home app? If yes, they will play sync with the homepods? I tried to configure it but i was not able.
Hey Milton ... damn you threw me a curve ball plus i literally donated my alexa devices lolz... From my google home hub - i am unable to broadcast music. Only homebridge devices can be transported. The alexa player plugin is still in development. You may want to give it sometime for the plugin to work as is. Cheers
@@eddiedsuza Hi Eddie...I found the answer. Use the Belkin Soundform Connect. It is a piece of hardware that connects to the Home App. But the speaker, whichever it is, must have a P3 (Aux in).
Hi, great video! In Homebridge I've installed the Ring and Homebridge Ewelink plugins and I can control them through Homebridge (turn the outdoor lighting on/off) but they doesn't appears in Homekit?
You will need to open the Home app > tap on Add accessories > scan the Homebridge QR code that is on the status page. You will then be prompted to add the devices to the Home App
@@eddiedsuza thanks for your quick reply! "I tried adding the devices to HomeKit through Homebridge by scanning the QR code (and also manually entering the code via options), but they don't appear in HomeKit and I receive a message stating that it's not possible to add the accessory."
@@wimbre1961 Click on the 3 Dots (Top right hand corner) > Homebridge settings > Under Reset > Click on Reset Homebridge Accessory > Restart Homebridge > try Scanning the QR code. Let me know if it worked plus also ensure your phone and the Homebridge service is on the same network.
Love the idea of controlling my google smart devices. I have a Nest thermostat that is linked with my google profile but when connecting the home bridge within the google app it sync's then fails.
Great video man, side note there is a firmware to flash on the sonoff that gets you official included support no need for a home bridge plug-in for this one 👌
Yes Angel ... You need the plugins to tell Homebridge where your devices reside that is - is it on the cloud ? is it on your network ? or tell homebridge the device is with an IP address ? Once you configure the plugin then Homebridge will use its service to tell homekit that these are official homekit devices :)
Hey there was just wondering if I want to add a Tapo sensor that’s connected through the Tapo Hub, will the plugin pick up the sensors and buttons to use of homebridge?
Hi Eddie, great video!! after upgrading my phone to ios 16 All devices (TPLink Smarthome) are not responsive in the Homekit app, while they are still work with HomeBridge web interface(no error message found through logs) any advice?? thank you.
I successfully added the device into my homekit but it suddenly disabled and it says in home that i need to reset it first but i did but didnt work what should i do?pls let me know and thanks!
@@eddiedsuza I got the Tuya single plug and I followed your instructions and it came well at first but suddenly my home app didn’t recognize the home bridge’s QR code anymore!i resetted it even the plug itself.
anyone else have issues with iRobot? It has an issue that will not let me even start Homebridge, I have to disable the plugin for anything else to work.
