9 Insanely RARE Pokémon you DON'T HAVE! 

I'll always remember my wild J Unown ❤ I got him on 11/13/2018, before they even released him in events or raids. I was playing at night with my bike and I saw the silhouette on the nearby. I run to him the fast as I could, almost got hit by some cars but finally was able to get him on both my accounts!! Such a cool memory haha then I ran back home and saw some friends who played the game, I told them there was a Unown nearby and gave them my bike so they could get him in time, luckily both my friends also got him!! That was the rarest spawn I've seen in the whole game

One of the rarest Pokémon collections is having all 6 copies of Shaymen. 3 for each in person, 1 during global, 1 free one and 1 shiny version.

I have 3 Larvestas and I caught an Articuno in the wild on my 2nd throw. Cause, I didn’t know anything about the game (my son and I started playing in July 2023, he’s 5 now), and I hit an excellent throw with a golden raspberry and it didn’t catch. I figured that was probably an indicator I should use the Master Ball on it…and that’s how I caught it. Also, insanely enough, my son’s first Pokemon Go Fest, we went to my alma mater and he got to do an in person raid for the first time, he got a Shiny Shadow Articuno! Moments like that are why we play so much today. He does most of the remote raids, I do most of the battles, he and I both go walking everywhere to catch Pokemon almost daily and I legitimately went from hypertensive blood pressure to normal in the last 7 months since we started playing. It’s a blessing.

My greatest rare catch is my G Moltres. Caught with a Poke ball on April 1, 2024 during the “An excellent opportunity” event, where most throws were automatically excellent throws.

So happy to own one of the pokemon mentioned here! I live in a city, but used to work 5 days a week in a very rural area. I had found 6 different showcases along my commute that usually had 0 participants. By the end of 2023 I had around 90 wins, and started a new job in 2024. I hit 100 not too long before they released Ph.D. Pikachu. So I'm very happy to have one with bugged IVs 🥰

You can get gimmighoul for free if someone around you has lured a pokestop with a golden lure it can spawn that's how i got mine without having an a Nintendo switch

Regarding PHD Pikachu- we get one for every 100 wins ie. 100 wins = claim 1st Pikachu, 200 wins = claim 2nd Pikachu. So they'll become more common as the years tick by I imagine... I'm rural & already have 2 of the PHD Pikachu's. I'm a third of the way to 300 wins atm, so no doubt will have a third PHD Pikachu in the next few months... I'm mostly just keeping them in the hopes big city players will see them as a decent trade since I don't have many shiny legendries to offer for overseas regional dex entries I need. When I first started playing, an Uxie would camp out at a Pokestop on a hiking trail out in the forest, about a 60 minute walk from my house (the stop is at the bottom of the mountain we live on, so is quite far away IRL, but super close by on PoGo's map lol)... The only issue is it kept showing up at the worst times- like between 11pm-1am & I was not about to go bushwacking down a mountain at that hour... It taunted me for about 3 or 4 months, only ever showing up at that one stop, late at night a few times a week... I found out about 6 weeks after it stopped popping up on my 'near bys' just how rare it was...I have no regrets about not going after it tho.

One night on my way home, in my neighborhood while driving, i noticed a sprite on my map that didn't look familiar. I pulled over and clicked on it. Wild Azelf spawn! Not near water. I was so pumped.

I got a wild non-event Unown! A D spawned not too far from my house, so I made a mad dash to get it. And I did! And on the Discord channel that notified me of it, I said “insert jokes about me getting the D here.” Last I checked, there were ten eggplant emoji reactions to it.

I figured Shiny Sleepcap Snorlax would be on this list since I don't hear about too many people having that.

I encountered a wild Uxie the other day. It was on a canal towpath in a rural county, no town, no houses nearby - I was only there at that time and rare that anyone is there. I was walking from my parents' house to a bus stop, a 3.5-mile walk. I'm not normally there but it is also very rural and not reachable by road. I was the only one around as only canal boats (and hardly any) are ever down that stretch, with the very odd exception. I was in a rush, the sun was very bright and I was down to 60 Ultra balls if that, so limiting what I was doing with PoGO as I was preserving balls, it was difficult to play, and I needed to pay attention to where I was walking (uneven grass/stone/dirt path, tree roots etc). But I saw it, and didn't clock what I was even seeing at first (because of the Tour not being that long ago), but then realised... what the... 😅 Very pleased to say that after two break outs, I caught the little trickster and I'll never transfer or trade it (obviously!). Such a find. And thank you for attending my life story. 😂

On 5/11/2021 I caught a wild Azelf in Clearwater FL. One of my most exciting POGO moments. I couldn’t believe it spawned, then was even more hyped once I actually caught it.

My rarest catch is both a flex and a painful thing to mention. Shiny shadow 0% alolan exeggutor that was caught from Arlo and evolved on the exeggcute research day. It was a 3 hour long event, so catching on that day adds to the rarity, and that has been the only time we could evolve to the alolan form. I also kept frustration on it as well. I figured other people would TM it away, so that’s another way to add some “rarity” since you can’t get the move back onto the Pokémon after removing it.

Been playing since 24/01/23, I have 1 salazzle, 4 hatched larvestas, 2 galarian birds and have won 80 showcases! Didn’t realise these were rare things. Brilliant 👍👍👌

I've done *_A LOT_* of walking as a park ranger, so I managed to hatch a Larvesta pretty early on after it released. Once Adventure Sync started actually working properly for me (It didn't count 95% of my steps when I was out of cell phone range, which was most of my day), I was able to hatch 2-3 eggs daily just from my infinite incubator. I also caught a wild Galarian Articuno on what I believe may have been the first throw. Apparently, the trick there must be to feed it a golden razz berry, then proceed to stare at it anxiously for several minutes before daring to actually throw an ultra ball at it.

Caught a wild level 1 Azelf(always keep an eye on nearby pokemon) while waiting for my friend to get ready to go move some stuff from his storage unit and I got a wild Unown U in my neighborhood around a year ago :D Got 3 female salandits, traded 1, still have 1 (no money on incubators), hatched my only larvesta 2 months ago. Completed the Galarian bird set, traded my friend an extra galarian zapdos, lost another g articuno today but im not too bummed.

Turns out Galarian bird spawns are not random, I have seen multiple people find repeating spawn locations for all the birds.

I grabbed a uxie last weekend!! I’d seen one on my wild meter a few months ago too, never knew they were so rare!!

I’ve caught a wild Azelf before!! Was 2019 when I had just came back to the game. Was a nice spawn to see!

As a pretty casual player, it was surprising that I have hatched 2 Larvesta with one of them being a HUNDO!!!!

Ive actually seen a Mesprit spawn around my house, sadly couldnt catch it because i was prepping myself to work. And then I found another one and caught it while i was cycling around the town :D

Few days before I discovered this video, I managed to caught a wild shiny uxie spawn randomly around my dorm. After watching this I finally realized why I ran out of luck at many things throughout that day afterwards lol

Hatched 12 Larvesta so far, but my best hatch ever was a female Hundo Salandit (now a Salazzle)! Great video, my man.

I've hatched 4 female salandit - but only 1 Larvesta, and caught only one Galarian bird. And I buy boxes with large numbers of incubators. I've seen wild unowns, and a wild lake trio, but couldn't catch. I even saw a wild spawn Carnivine 40 miles north of the TN line in KY (well north of where they usually spawn, and long before they were in an event that had them globally). I do have a surprising number of shiny shadows from grunts and leaders, but then I do at least 4 a day (the 4 balloons). Hilariously, I help a friend's son with Pokemon Go. He CAN'T buy anything except with coins from gyms, and only gets event tickets if someone gifts him one. He started playing 2 years after me (I started US Thanksgiving 2019, he started in 2021, but lost access to his original account and restarted in 2022). He's caught 2 Galarian Birds. He's hatched 4 or 5 Larvesta. He's even evolved a Baxcalibur from just hatches (they mostly spawn when he's asleep and not near his phone), and has a Charcadet. He also has caught more shiny legendaries than me, just using free and mission reward passes.

Just caught an Azelf today picking up lunch. Now I’m hyped!

98% Shiny Shadow XXL Moltres. Pretty insane. Not to mention 2 96% Shadow Shinies as well (Raikou and Cubone)

I got all three the Galarian birds now in Go. The Zapdos was caught by my Pokéball Plus + by accident and I was stressing out at first that I'd missed it, but nope: got it! XD

Of these, I have the PHD Pikachu, all 3 Galarian birds (I even traded a low level G. Articuno to Pokemon Home for trading purposes, because I have caught 3, and traded a Moltres to a friend because I also caught two of those), Salazzle, Larvesta (with enough candies to evolve it now - but I am holding off), and a maxed out hundo Gholdengo. I have seen a wild Azelf spawn - but it ran when I tried to catch it.

My daughters and me each have the PHD Pikachu. And you can only get this one with 12/13/14 IV also. So a hundo is currently impossible, as well as a shiny. And you forgot to mention Charcadet...

I caught a wild Azelf on May 5th of this year. I posted it to campfire because I never new they were super rare wild spawns. It has almost no IV's at 2100+ CP and I was gonna transfer it tonight for the 2× transfer candy. If it was not for you, POKE DAXI, Making this video, I would of done that. You stopped me because I never knew the rarity until I saw this video. Yesterday, the day before I was gonna transfer it. What are the odds of me seeing it in the wild, using 15 ultra balls and 15 berries to catch it. Yes, every time it jumped out, I was expecting it to run. Than you post this video 2 days later and 1 day before I was gonna transfer it. That's like 1 in a Google plex. ( that's a 1 with 390 million zeros after it). It's crazy but, THANK YOU POKE DAXI for saving me from doing one of the dumbest things someone playing could do. Keep doing what do and I love your videos. I've learned so much from you! Yeah, I got a wild Azelf caught in the wild on Jan 1, 2023 .. so definitely not apart of any tour events and tag in Kingston, Jamaica so no funny stuff was done. Back then, it wasn't in the dex so the shadow pops up on the nearby and I was wondering what was that, 😅 was very happy when I caught it

Caught an Azelf in the wild when I was living in Tulsa, Ok. I remember it being one hell of a battle to catch him, but once it was caught I was ecstatic, that was back on 6/6/2022.

I didn’t know Azelf was THAT rare. I recently was sitting at home and a bus stop near me had the silhouette and I totally got in my car, drove to the bus stop and caught it! So glad I did then.

I’ve got literally nothing on that list other than the Galatian Birds. I used my only Master Ball on a 3151 CP Galarian Articuno back in October 2023, and then in February I got a critical capture on Galarian Zapdos only a week before I caught a 41 CP Galarian Moltres.

I'd like to nominate Charcadet and Vivillon (Sandstorm, Sun and Ocean) to your list! Missed the event for Charcadet... and those three regions are the hardest to find friends from... not to mention the amount of candy you need to collect to evolve all forms of Vivillon.

I finished the set of the Gbirds few months back. Was the best feeling in POGO I've ever experienced, especially because none were caught with a master ball.

I won around 90 showcases before I knew about the pikachu encounter, granted I live in a rural area but seemed more difficult as most other players started to realise about the encounter. Finally got it and pretty happy now

Rarest mon I have is probably Shiny phantump/ pancham. My favorite is shadow raikou tho, my first in person raid!!! Keep on making good content, u r the best RU-vidr I have watched in a long time

I was just scrolling through RU-vid before my daily walk and watched your video. Then just when I'm about to arrive back home after my walk, a wild Mesprit spawned. 😮 This is one of those 'that's a wild coincidence' situations.

I got Professor Pikachu back in March. I was surprised at how close I was to getting it when they announced the release.

I actually got my first salazzle on the primal groudon raid weekend after my first raid was also a shiny groudon. I also only got back into Pokémon go after a couple years in late January or maybe earlier February and the only origin form palkia I managed to raid and catch was a shiny as well.

I have a hundo best buddy goldengo, he's so cool and I love how he surfs around on the map when I have him out!

I’ve caught a wild azelf during a non event at it was at a little pond in the town I live in. It’s deff the craziest rarest encounter I’ve had. I’ve also caught all 3 Galarian birds without a master ball it took a lot of grinding every day haha

I used a Master Ball on my Galarion Moltres! I have seen a few spawns of it as well with Galarion Zapdos but have never been able to catch them normally or even see Galarion Articuno in game yet.

Since you mentioned shiny shadow hundo, I’d like to mention traded nundo. If your very first interaction with a new friend is a trade you have a 1 in 4096 chance of getting a nundo. After that trade your friendship level increases and the trade floor IV becomes 1-1-1.

I caught my uxie wile walking my one trail for a shiny magikarp but i flippes out when i saw the uxie on the screen even more happy when i caught it, pretty sure they have tge same catch rate as the 3 birds

I was having breakfast with pokefriends 4 of us and we wer talking about catching the lake trio. We finished eating and as we left i saw the wild outline of a azelf. We all ran to its location and cought it. What are the odds after talking about it we manafested one of the rarest mons in the game, and called our groupchats to get it for everyone else in the area. One of the best pokemon go memories 😂

Me and my mum found the uxie yellow one we each got it and traded it and we got a lucky but I also saw one on that little pokestop thing it was the pink one but we couldn’t go out to get it. But the lucky yellow one was so cool (non event)

4:28 I saw a uxie on my nearby a week ago and rushed to it immediately it was insane because I ran out of ultra balls and only caught with a great ball with an excellent throw

Got my first 2 unown BEFORE the events made them globally available buuuuutttttt, it was back when there was trackers on Twitter. In my opinion though this was the most fun I EVER had playing the game. You'd get a notification with the location, and it would say how much time left, so you had to jump in your car and MOB sometimes and hope you got there before it despawned. Just got my 50th showcase win yesterday, halfway there! Never gotten a Shundo even, been playing since day one. Got 4 Salazzle, never spent money to battle leaders. I HATE PVP but tried for that Pikachu one season, before realizing it used to be WAY EASIER to get when it first came out. I have a win ratio of 60 percent, but just didn't play enough I guess, despite playing what I thought was a ridiculous amount and until I hated myself and the game daily. Got 4 Larvestas, ALL after the event when I hatched 0. Gimmighoul was annoying AF, but not bad if you're part of a Facebook group. Masterball'd 2 Galarian birds, caught a 27cp Articuno in and ultra ball, and then I think a 2000cp Zapdos in an Ultra Ball. TOTALLY forgot about the time roar thing, never used it.

I caught a wild lake guardian 3 days ago. I didn't realize it was so rare. I knew it was rare, but not that rare. It's staying in my collection forever.

5:19 A few days ago, I walked to a nearby gym, only to do a 1-star raid (I only do 1-star raids because I play alone and those are the only ones I can win). This was my first time ever to specifically go out for a raid. I only started playing less than half a year ago, and my current buddy needs raid wins, so I was kinda on a mission on that day, I guess. 😆 I usually just catching mons or defending gyms. (I still don't have 10 raid wins for my buddy.) When I was getting close to the raid I noticed an unregistered mon at the bottom right corner. I'm not familiar with any mons really. I've never played any pokemon games ever. It was Mesprit btw. It was just a regular new mon to me. I first only used a regular razz berry. I know. Even now, I get sweaty just thinking about it. It didn't fled, but broke out way too easily, so I was like: okay, the target circle couldn't even get redder, so it's time for a golden razz berry... I caught it with the second throw. Neither of them were an excellent throw, obviously. And that's how I caught my first legendary mon. (If Zygarde is not counted, because it was free from a research.) After I realized it's a legendary I searched it up and found out that it was an extremely rare encounter. Btw, that's how I completed the "catch a legendary pokemon" task of my research I got when I choose Palkia when its new form got introduced. XD It didn't change my life, but it was a crazy encounter for sure! 🙂

I got a salandit which was female on my pokidex registry. One time I had got a wild mesprit which was a hundo. Sadly my friend transferred it😢 and that friend only hatched a hundo larvesta,so I made him evolve it and then transferred it to take revenge 😅

Last rotation of rocket leaders i got so lucky. I got a shundo shadow bagon. Currently im walking with him as my buddy to max him out

4:50 I actually caught a wild shiny Mespirit earlier today! I was wondering why there was red, blue and yellow confetti on my screen (sadly it wasn't a hundo)

About two weeks ago I caught an Azelf in the wild. It was in the parking lot where I work. 15/14/14 IVs. I couldn’t believe it

I was lucky enough to catch an unknown outside of an event. It was random and made my day! I also have Galarian Articuno and Moltres. I caught them the same week. It mad me laugh because I've been using the adventure incense almost daily since they came out. Not sure why they took so long to show up.

I remember my first dusk form Lycanroc was a shiny, and I got the shiny Smeargle without even going for it. I hatched a shiny Riolu once, and caught a shiny Drilbur two weeks ago. Four pretty rare shinies. Salazzle, Galarian Moltres, Sigilyph, Klefki, Comfey, Skiddo/Gogoat, Gimmighoul/Goldengo, Hawlucha, Lunala, the pink, red, & purple Oricorio, and the red & blue Flabébé lines are the only Pokémon I need to have caught everything they've released so far lol

I got a wild shiny azelf in the wild at 4/25 of this year and 3 larvesta. With 250 candies so far . Gotta love phone swings lol
