I can't believe they don't teach basic psychology and sociology in school, it's like they don't want students to succeed, they want them to be the working class.
Tell me one job that relates to psychology, and sociology that isn't in the working class. And DON'T say starting a business, because knowing about psychology, and sociology is almost useless compared to many other things.
@@chunkymonkey2285 Every single job in the world relates to psychology and sociology, because you need to interact with other people. The state of mind right now is ''I don't need to change, I am who I am, if you don't like me it's your fault, not mine''. It's not about changing your personality, it's about improving it. Everything in the world is about personality. The better your personality is, the more successful you will be.
@@JP-zk3yo I agree with you that personality is important in many different jobs, but the school system can't change your outlook on life; also many teachers do teach their students about the Growth Mindset. And besides if psychology, and sociology were actually important in getting a job (rather than the information you need to know to get a job) how come most people have a job, and how come the world functions the way it does. And as an addition, are you saying that there should be a class that teaches people to have a "better" personality, as that doesn't and never will exist, as there is no such thing as a "better" personality. Our world relies on diversity.
@@chunkymonkey2285 Again, it's not about changing your outlook on life, it's about improving it. It has nothing to do with change. This whole mindset of ''I don't want to change who I am'' is the problem, and probably the source of all the racism problems and victim culture.
@@JP-zk3yo It is not really a big problem right now, what you are talking about is the fixed mindset, and you say that school systems should teach us about the growth mindset, and not only do they already teach most of us, but many people don't just walk into an engineering class, and walk right back out because they can't understand it. Many of the most successful people have terrible personalities. That's just how the world works.
Answer:😇😇 I really think that school should prepare you for life. Because parents who are already in a poor state will obviously have a poor mentality which will lead them to take poor decisions and eventually they will prepare their children for the world very poorly.. *Notice: I am not saying that every one has parents who are in a poor stage of life. In fact, most parents are well off and have a really good experience about the society as more and more people are getting educated.* Whereas in schools: Different types of people can come together and share their ideas about the world. By the way this also implies to the teachers. So, all the teachers reading this, please share your views and opinions about the different topics with the students as they need it. School doesn't limit to a particular mentality and will prepare their students for the world better. If you want to understand it further, you can watch Boyinaband's Answers to the mean comments in the video where he did a song on the same topic.💯💯 At last: There are more than two options for becoming better. And one of the best one is RU-vid itself. (and also you) By the way, I am a student from India, so I have to say this: Jai Hind Jai Bharat🇮🇳🇮🇳🙏🙏
I think school because not all or us or in my area few of us have responsible parents to teach us the things we will need. I never learned the basic things I need to know to function in life like how to interact to people for things like going to the store. My friends tought me that not my parents. I am forced to ether teach my self or have friends teach me how to function in society because my parents and brothers could never have. Only thing I learned from them is what not to do.
Do you want schools to teach kids to fast? Also, schools teach communication. I had English and speech classes. Group discussions were normal in class, too.
It is pretty freaky to consider how many of these techniques are used in marketing in order to convince us to buy stuff. Like the last one is really easy to do and apparently really efficient 🙂
notice how he mentions the price of the first 2 courses after the 3rd one, after 297$ which may be a lot for someone, hearing 47$ after that doesnt sound too bad
@Jake Watson This dude must post 1,000 times per day on other channels. He's fishing for new subs for his own channel but he'd be better off spending all that time improving his own content rather than spamming all of RU-vid.
The struggle with cognitive dissonance comes from not wanting to change a habit due to a contradictory belief so people will find irrational ways of explaining away their contradicting behaviors vs beliefs. It takes a courageous person to not be a hypocrite and actually change and grow. Most people just stay in cognitive dissonance because it is easier than facing truths and having to change a belief or habit.
Nancy Neyedly, I'm currently reading Dweck's book on Mindset. It helps with this. As a teenager and a man in his 20's I had a fixed mindset and didn't experience real peace and any meaningful growth, but in my 30's I opened up to flexibility, new ideas and adopted the growth mindset. It has made all the difference in my life. I experience growth and a love of learning on a daily basis due to my growth mindset. If you haven't you should read the book. It's a great read.
E Chin, it can be depending on what you have to learn from it. If you do like I did and get a degree in Psychology then you will hear/read all about it. My favorite is all of the cognitive bias that is floating out around there. I use it in arguments against my wife, especially when she uses the terms "You always" or "You never". These two phrases can expose faulty or incorrect thinking. She hates it, but admits it is effective.
When it’s come to art class, my teacher always ask the whole class to drawing something but they never teach me any technique. When I passed the high school I started learn to use internet then I found internet taught me better technique of art
Anchoring and Cognitive Dissonance were taught in my CogSci class, but I've got to admit these two words are easy to forget because specific examples of Anchoring pops out more. Same with "heuristics and biases" vs. Availability
I really enjoy your work, thank you...but could you consider slowing down your voice a little and the volume too... The pace and tone cause stress... I would like to enjoy your content with a more relaxed mind.
Hi I actually bought your psychology of attraction was very good information however I think for most people it would be good but I have Asperger's Syndrome some and clinical anxiety so for me it's not good enough however for people that's all Moon you were typical average it's good
I saw spontaneous trait transference in my last relationship. He kept telling me ppl were manipulative & untrustworthy, & soon I started to c it in him. So I pushed it back to a casual friendship
I originally heard it called Pareto's Law. Vilfredo Pareto was an Italian economist, sociologist, engineer, etc, in the 1800's, that came up with it. It has a large variety of applications such as; 80% of your profits come from 20% of your products, 80% of a country's wealth is owned by 20% of the citizens., etc. It tends to be relatively accurate.
This is what I was taught in school: Psychology is CLEARLY a mistake on at least two levels. Any twelve year old with a classical education KNOWS that! Follow: First off, by definition, Socratic Dialogue is ethics, not biology. Therefore, only an ignorant, ill-educated rube of epic proportions would argue that psychology is medicinal, or, medicine, at all. To do so would be a mistake, such as categorizing a solid as a vapor. It's called being classically educated. Otherwise, someone would have to be intentionally unethical in contrivance of fraud - which is EXACTLY what the early psychologists admitted. See: argument between Erik Erikson and S. Freud over how clinical psychology is fraudulent, an unethical confidence game, a trick to be played on women who lack a Classical Education in an era of misogyny. This admitted trick is why Erikson did not practice clinical psychology. And, moreover, admitting the fraud is why Erik Erikson was offered and accepted a teaching position at Harvard University. Historically, EVERY academic KNOWS that FACT. This trick relies on obedience to authority ala Dr. Stanley Milgram's Yale experiments. You would literally have to be mentally deficient to try such a fraud. SECONDLY: even the Behaviorists said that is you try to get inside someone's head, which is what the Cognitive Psychologist claims they're ding, you're just playing pretend. It's not realistic to say you can guess someone's intentions. Quite simply, you'll never know if they are trying to mislead, or if a person has some ulterior motive, or if they might not understand any given hypothetical situation in its entirety.
TL;DR It's your life. You start it. I don't get why others blame school for not teaching them these kinds of information. It's your life... taking a step towards a goal is dependent you not on anyone. If you really want something, you must do whatever it takes. Simple as that. The people who complain that their school doesn't provide enough information are nowhere different to those that complain that schools make students, robots. Note: I agree that some schools do lack the teaching of basic necessary skills such as evaluation and communication or encouragement. But these skills can usually be observed and picked up on from others in an online platform or in the public. Interesting Paradox: If the education system makes you a robot then does the fact that you can't direct yourself for a better learning experience makes you, yourself, a robot? Or have the effects already settled in?
So let's talk about mere exposure. This explains how a family or community can perpetuate an idea. Any idea. The idea that blacks, or Jews or Muslims behave badly, and whites don't. Conversely, a person who is exposed and gets comfortable around above mentioned individuals, by mere exposure, will have different ideas about them
Im glad to say ive experienced all these things, this guy is talking about..except 2 of them but still i pretty much taught my own brain...dont need school... but what about experiences with making subconscious premonitions about ya self,, or surroundings... ive seen my friends make predictions in front of me.. its like the phrase "speak of the devil" but thats slightly different but still...
To be honest I regret of going to school, apart from basic education on biology or geography, I didn't learn anything there that I could apply in real life. Your this video is a great example of that about what we hav missed learning.no 4 is my fav one the 80/20 principles. And I want to add something, I think meditation is another most important thing that everyone should learn either his/her's age is 7 or 70. ❤️✌️❄️
I just learned about the 80/20 rule. And i actually subconsciously do it all the time or im just lazy and don't put alot of effort into something hahaha!
Women are different. It took me 60 years to learn this lesson, it would've been great if someone at school had taught me this; unfortunately, our sex lessons consisted of women love the man to make him happy. Ha! Plus a lot of rather disturbing pictures of the effects of sexual diseaeses.
It's funny when people try to substitute nature for science by trying to come up with theories that tells nothing. Instead of pointing out the fact that there might be a creator l, they try to say it's s-c-i-e-n-c-e...LMFAO!
Youre wrong money actually DOES manifest I received a bag filled with money out of the sky it was the craziest shit ive ever seen Just inagine money flowing to you
So with the spontaneous trait transference, I told my mom about perverts that like children that were messaging me to make me act like a child and see young pics of me. Does this mean she she’s me like that?! 😭
Right so the baader meinhof phenomenon, does it bend reality because I stated playing minecraft again and holy shit it blows up there’s minecraft memes people are saying minecraft is better than fortnite and the whole glad I grew up with this instead of this like how does that happen?
might sound rude but for some reason my brain can't connect his voice to success even tho he clearly is.. but i think its interesting.. a deeper voice probably makes a man seem more successful ect ect
i wish i payed more attention in school i learned somethings but i flee like 95% of the time i wood just daydream in class all i wanted to do was go home and play video games and that was in high school not grade school
Omg I'm really uneducated. So much of this is gold! I feel like a person that never learnt to read, like this seems like basic social information I should know by now. Uhhhhhhh.... better late than never I guess.
