I agree, but there is one point isn't that right, the training time. He says: 30 minutes or hours. Ok, I learn on that time, but to go outside on street, even sidewalks, you take a lot more time to be confident
This is all really great information. I have bad knees( many operations,) and can't walk very far without pain. I can ride my EUC for hours with no knee pain. It's really empowering. The mental health benefits are also amazing. My journeys are now adventures instead of boring commutes. Riding also improved my abdominal strength, I have a noticeable six pack now which makes my wife very happy 😊 (It's definitely from the EUC because,, honestly, it's the only daily physical activity I do.)
Similarly, I've got severe chronic back pain and foot pain. The EUC has been liberating and hopefully it will be even better when I get suspension and a faster wheel.
One thing I notice is the positive encounters I have with strangers. Before riding one I thought I might encounter animosity but, since EUCs are still pretty new and novel, people are just curious. I've had several brief chats with people about what it is, how hard it is to ride, and how far/fast it can go and have also had many people shout positive stuff as I pass like "that's sick bro", "wow that's so cool". I haven't yet had a single person be negative about it or criticise it. It's nice to have that momentary connection with a stranger.
The reason i started to ride a EUC my 2 year old son had brain cancer and since he was going thru that if i took the subway i wouldn't be able to see him. Made it to i could spend every night with my son in the hospital till he got out. now 3 years in and put over 30k miles on any wheel i had and i cant see myself without a wheel... 2 weeks ago a car run a red light and hit me at 25 miles broke my sherman waiting to repair it but i miss riding and its been 2 weeks.... P.s when are you coming out to NYC it would be great to have you here. and if you need a place to stay with some polish friends i got you. LET US KNOW
I hope the best for your son i had a cancer at 18 i'm now 20 and the worst part for me was the pain that i cause to my parents, keep your head up champ 🔥
My Dear WW, REASON 10): When I drive the wheel there is no laziness; anything can be done. I'm cooking: I don't have eggs: I go and buy eggs... and I'm not lazy. The wheel is POWER!!! From Medellin, Colombia
I agree with this. I wouldn't use it as my only form of exercise, and if someone asked me for exercise recommendations I probably wouldn't go for an EUC first, but if you do other things then the EUC is great for flexibility and relaxation.
I started losing my balance due to a yet to be diagnosed nervous system issue (possibly Gulf War Syndrome). EUC riding has helped me in that area and more. Plus my injured back hates to fit especially in a car. EUC equates to a ergonomic personal mobility device to some extent. EUCs are a game changer for me. Thank you for all your quality and useful content 🙏🏼
Totally agree with the stress free and happiness reasons! Two of the main reasons why I ride. Nothing like arriving at work with a smile on your face and the knowledge that you have an awesome ride ahead of you at the end of the work day. I love it. Here in Australia though, the only stress that one might encounter is that danger of getting pulled over by Highway Patrol. Road/PEV laws here are so behind the times. Hopefully things are moving towards a more positive outcome soon. Thanks for the vid mate, always enjoy your content!
I feel ya! Riding is great her in AUS but I really have to try hard to steer clear of main roads where the highway patrol roam :/ Major bummer, but atleast the regular police don't bother us :)
@@Douggi1171 Regulars don’t bother us… yet. I have a strange feeling it’s only a matter of time before they’re instructed to stop us. Fingers crossed that it never happens brother!
Hey Adam, Background: I am 51 years old with a varied past. I am an engineer that has played soccer, was a runner in my 30s, raced motorcycles (off-road and road-racing over 200mph) my whole life and a personal trainer in a gym. I do like to be healthy and feel good but I find myself lazy some parts of my life. The pandemic just assisted me to be more lazy and out of shape. I got a V10F three weeks ago because I got it for a third of the price with 60 miles on it. Turns out that I really have a great wheel for me. I have done most all sports in my life but this is the hardest for me yet. Especially being out of shape pretty bad. Every ride is me chanting “please don’t kill me” and I have a load of medium/minor injuries that go with it. Three week status: wow! I wish that I had this forever. I only have 25 miles under my belt and I’m not comfortable at all on it. I get better every day. I take it easy and practice for only about 30 minutes at a time and take days off to rest my old body. I have a long term goal and not a short term need. It will be my commute to work when I am capable (6.64mi). Physical improvements: I sit all of the time. Period. I try to stand at times but seated is my normal day. Since the EUC, I have had numerous improvements that are remarkable for such a short time. My ENTIRE core is improving! That’s abdominals, lower back, hip-flexors and glutes. Back pain reduction and posture improving already. The change is dramatic already. Considering I am in such poor shape, I can see a huge change. Knee and ankle strength are also improving dramatically. The lateral and medial support muscles in my knees were sore for a bit from holding this thing in position but I can feel the positive effects. Walking is easier and “stronger”, for the lack of a better description. I can stand from a seated position with ease without pushing on my knees or using my arms as a pendulum. Not counting my injuries, the benefits are overwhelmingly surprising already. I went on my first real trip, if you want to call it that. I rode 2 miles and got a burger and came back home. For fun, I counted it as a workout on my AppleWatch and it really was eye opening. Sure, much of this is because I am a beginner and totally frightened the entire time but my heartrate was between 150-170BPM the entire time! Oh yes, I worked up a sweat in the Texas heat for sure. An EUC is definitely an excellent supplement to any workout schedule. The air, silence, pleasure and sun are just a fabulous bonus!
The joy of riding is powerful. Enough to make a day with a bad crash still be fun as hell! I also think the focus required is good mental exercise, especially during fast off-road rides.
Its awesome how you make it feel natural, when you stop and start effortlessly like its an extension to your body. I hope at some point I will be able to reach close to your ability and skill level. But first thing first, I need to get my EUC. Starting on a inMotion v12.
I'm one of Adam's friends whoi relieved his back pain thanks to EUC. It ached whole last year, up until the moment, when I got my KS16x. My back stopped aching instantly. And I can add is nod to what Adam is saying. VERY NICE WEEDJIO ADAM. NICE WHEEL BIG OF SIZE. YOU HELTY I HELTY ALL HELTY!
100% agree it reduces back pain!! I have v11 with suspension to stop any jarring from bad roads. But i think it just strengthens your core significantly
When i was 10 i twisted my ankle quite badly and since then it was always a bit weaker. For instance i could go on rollerskates but rollerblades no, that ankle would not support me Feel it on euc as well, turning to one side is a bit more dificult, especially when tired. However over this relatively short time since i ride eucs i did notice it getting way better, so here you go another health benefit
To your point of exercise. I do mostly cruising on an EXN. I wear a Galaxy Watch and often hit walking/jogging levels of exertion while riding on paved trails. I am positive my off-roading friends are getting a great cardio workout on an EUC! Thanks for your awesome content!
I love the EUC. Riding it for a bit more than 8 years. Only thing that could become a issue is knee pain as you ride to much, and get older. However reducing the tire pressure or riding a suspension EUC helps with that. I used to sit for 8-10h working every day, and had back pain. The EUC solved that completely 🥰
totally agree,....i had severe lower back pain long while back before riding EUC,....but i have been standing while working in the office. As a result, no more lower back pain ...and that alone showed the fact standing is really healthy ......
I can second the knee pain after surgery. I have had 2 operations on my left knee and fractured it a third time after those. I have an electric bike that I can throttle without pedaling, but, 20 mph just feels, ehhhh, boring... so I always end up pedaling to get to that 30mph mark. My knee/s always end up in some pain. I'm a newer EUC rider, but, while on my EXN I can do 20 miles quite easily with ZERO knee pain and quite the opposite, my knees both actually feel better for daily use whilst riding my EXN/EUC rather than cycling or even walking.
I ride my Begode T3 since July this year and it is amazing experience. Beast in the city and I can even go to visit my parents 55 km away on my T3 instead of my car. When it is nice weather outside it is amazing fun and no pain like riding my bike so far away. I love it :-).
When getting into a fast rip, carving, bombing I feel it works the same core muscle groups that I used downhill skiing. Quads, hammies, glutes... core.
Hey wrong way, Another great video. The fact that you ride and talk to create your content really adds to great content. Can you please let me know which wheel you are using in this vid? I live in Maine, USA. I really think I want to get into this sport. I am 60 YO’s, but, pretty active and love the outdoors. I am interested in torque, ease of use, range and of course some thing that goes like 35-40mph. Thanks in advance for any info. Keep up the great videos!! 👍
I have always been mobile and active, but after getting my EUC I have gained so much hip mobility * lower back mobility that i can now touch my toes. I have been training that for over a year.... :P
Electric unicycle riding is a unique experience. Perfect workout and relaxing at the same time. The only problem I have is that once I start riding I don't want to stop.
Some fantastic points you have made in this video. I was wondering about core strength with an euc v electric scooter( what I ride now). What I didn't realise was an euc being better for your back and knees and arms. I figured an euc being better on your hands obviously but never considered the back and knees. I do suffer from back troubles so I will take this in mind when my kingsong 16s arrives. I ordered one a few hours ago. Love the channel and your honest opinions
My girlfriend fell off euc few weeks ago. Happened because of brake wobble, she could not control it. Thankfully, nothing serious, just a scratch. But i cant make her ride euc again, sadly.
I always love seeing bikes appear to be struggling to catch up/keep up with you in vids 😂 Gotta give em props, though, something I can’t do. Lungs won’t keep up with my body’s demand and, essentially, my body cuts off. Wheeze…
No smog from engine fumes. No noise on ears. No stress from vehical maintain. Fresh air blasting in face fun. The joy of wheelin oh yeah, so relieving on the mind. Something nice to look forward to. I can spend fuel costs on a healthy snack. Tired feet after ages outweighed by shear joy. Ah mmm.
Slalom, jumping and stuff are a perfect full body workout. Also I found out that its perfect if you have "Plattfüße" to get a stronger "fußbett"... I love EUC riding 🥰🥰🥰 thanks for that awesome video... gruuuzzz and all the best
Great video! And Absolutely no stress unless your about to get hit by a car lol Sometimes stress can be healthy but it’s definitely a stress killer and I’m always stoked when I jump on and get off , love the core workout as well and I’ve definitely had less back pain and my back pain is chronic and A lot of things don’t help my back pain, and I ride a suspension wheel that really helps too I reckon Let’s go eagle!!! 🦅
Currently, this is more than relevant, and EUC also allows you to maintain social distance in order to avoid covid-19 and other diseases transmitted by close contact with people. You no longer need to use public transport, taxis and so on to commuting.
Yes.. its silly when he said u can learn in 20 mins to few hours... it needs much more than that... personally, for to get me to the point where i can say i can ride on the road... start, turn, stop without the need to hold onto something... up to a month with 2 hours practice each day.
I have knees problem and when I drive on my electric scooter i feel it makes good for them. My explaining for it is that you have to balance on the scooter and that makes it a good exercise. When i was at the rehabilitation for my knees...they told me to exercise my balance. So there is a connection why this work as an exercise
That hunched over position can actually ergonomically be benign. Riding EUC has affected my neck and back and I can see the potential for injuries to knees. But all in all theres nothing perfect about any activity. Overall, it's more beneficial for me than not
I would love to see a follow up with a physiotherapist or other doctor to verify what I think we all suspect (and you've anecdotally reported here) that's is good for joints and for stress.
1. Cheep to buy 2. Cheep to run it(No license, no Petrol, no insurance, no service , no m.o.t.) 3. No stuck in traffic. 4.One machine goes to all terrain. 5. No parking problems.6. More socializing. 7. You can take it with you anywhere.8. Goes and passes almost through everithing.
I used to get comments of me being lazy but the funny thing was that most of the time I was litterally riding to the gym I am gonna work out in, so I always had a counter argument.
My experience is a little different, a passer by asked if riding was good exercise, my response I did not consider it exercise. My calves do get a workout, my balance has improved somewhat. If I try to ride relaxed there is usually a bump or crack the reminds me to ride proactively. I'm interested in a wheel that smooths out the ride on the unpredictable asphalt trails in my area. My first choice is the king song s20, though of all the specs, none have shown estimated range, still waiting for that fact. I might be interested in the monster pro, maybe a trip to a stocking store where a test ride could be available before deciding. I enjoy riding, areas other than mine seem to have better riding trails and/or paths than here, but still ride because of the unique experience of riding an electric wheel, may all your rides be trouble free
I've used regular unicycles, and segways, but for some reason, I find the leaning to be more boring than using an electric scooter. Maybe the simplicity of the self balancing vehicle's makes them less fun for me, because their not as challenging to ride. My favorite vehicle I've ever used so far is the kaabo wolf warrior, and I'm a very happy owner of one.
While I agree that riding is healthy overall several of your points is a bit of a stretch in direct relation to health ☺ but I would certainly agree that a lot of the things you mention are positive things
I did broke my wrist on my RS19, i had wrist guard but my hand fell on the side so it broke at 2 places but next day even with the plaster i was on my EUC because why not !??
Vitamin D? I do have to wonder how much Vitamin D you can collect with such a small skin area available to the sunlight :) Still, better than inside for sure. I understand this video was made when it was maybe a little cooler outside but even when warmer, safety gear is recommended. On the other hand, there were a lot of points I had not thought of. Good video. Your points about active braking were very good too. Selling the EUC as a cycle for people with some disability (bad back, wrist, neck, etc.) might be an interesting legal argument. That banning EUCs from bike paths is prejudicial against people with disabilities. Get some doctors riding them...
This touches on a key point that is often overlooked. A form of exercise you enjoy may well have longer term benefits than a more efficient one that you don't for the simple reason that you'll keep doing it. I hate running and get really bored at the gym so I do martial arts, climbing, and ride my EUC because these are things I really enjoy.
There was one video where "Wrong Way" was reviewing a wheel that lacked maneuvrability where on the turns, the pedals would touch the ground. Anyone remembers what video and wheel it was?
Back pain can be from weak abdominal muscles. The back muscles work over time to make up for the lack of abdominal strength. Bad posture can also lead to back pain. I ride euc and a road bike up to 80 miles a day. I have no back pain. I'm 48 and workout to stay fit. Taking a poll is not a scientific study. There is a lot of disinformation in this video.
Quick questions If I've already installed velcro on the sides of my Monster Pro, will that cover go fit over or did you have to remove the velcro first? If you had to remove it, what did you use to remove it? Any help you can provide will be appreciated it.
I can literally get ALL the same benefits from going for a walk : I You should retitle the video "some reasons why physical outdoor activity is healthy"
