9. Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle -- Off-Hand Shooting 

i just want to say; i hope that ruger, gunsite and instructor il ling new continue making these youtube training shorts, i have taken her scout rifle shooting methods to heart, she manages to help people visualize the teachings of jeff cooper and together you have all made a fine rifle and a fine training series which i feel col. jeff cooper would be proud of. thank you.

So glad I found this, every other video about the same subject has AR15s but no real bolt action rifles without a pistol grip.

This women is an amazing hunter and has traveled the world killing game on all continents. She is a very accomplished shooter and hunter. Her advice and instruction is solid.

How many of you have heard about Cooper giving a lecture entitled, “The Scout Rifle in Combat” at the 1999 SOF Convention in LV and then following the talk there was an ND with Coopers personal Scout Rifle inside the banquet room? Naw-I didn’t think you did…..

That's pretty amazing. She is very small, physically. It is amazing she handles the recoil so well. I'm 6'1 and 230 lbs, and I'm quite certain I would have not been so confident eating that recoil standing.

Yeah. I heard this (as in they told me what happened face to face) from two people who witnessed it-one being Peter Kokalis. Cooper gave a lecture on the Scout Rifle in combat. At the time the war in Kosovo had pretty much wrapped up and their were some photos floating around on the internet that showed terrorists of the KLA (Kosovo Liberated Army) carrying Scout Rifles. Cooper jumped on these pictures as proof of the viability of the Scout Rifle in the role he’d designed it for: use by a military scout in front of enemy lines. At the conclusion of Coopers lecture people in the audience gathered around his Steyr Scout that he had on a display table and began to handle it while Cooper answered questions. Suddenly, “WHAM!” his Scout Rifle discharged scaring the sh!t outa everyone. Apparently Cooper left a round in the magazine or the had a cartridge(s) in the spare magazine in the buttstock. When a member of the audience worked the action and pulled the trigger and it negligently discharged. Luckily the bullet didn’t hit anybody. Kokalis told me that when he heard the shot he half drew his pistol from his holster until he realized it was an ND. There is lotta embarrassing crap that Jeff Cooper did and Gunsite did back when that nobody talks about because it’ “politically incorrect” due to Cooper and Gunsite being placed on a pedestal.

2nd camera is pretty much a waste. Save some money.

it didn't show the target or if the target was hit. may as well have been shooting into the air.

She looked like she was having trouble loading it.
