My dad has a 2003 Harley Davidson F150 in silver and black he bought new also. He plans to hand it down to me also. Glad you got a piece of your old man brother. I would love a SRT10 Ram.
I owned a 2006 SRT-10 and it was expensive to own. Only takes premium gas and at 9 mpg, I had to plan a month in advance if I wanted to take it out on a cruise with my car buddies. It wasn't cheap. It mostly sat in my garage during its ownership.
I like the srt10s a lot don't get me wrong, but you really would take that over a Gen 5 viper T/A? Or ACR? Or any gen 3+ viper? Idk that just seems crazy to me but maybe im biased cuz vipers my dream car
Ethan King Yup only rear wheel, I’m sure there’s a way to convert it cause you can get all wheel rams but that’s it like the front axles and stuff could handle that power... so in short yes it’s rear wheel but if you try hard enough I’m sure you can get it running all 4
My favorite Special Edition Ram is the SRT-10. Now, here's a cool fact about this truck: The Guinness Book Of Records certified the Ram SRT-10 as the world's Fastest Production Pickup Truck, which knocked the Ford F-150 Lightning, and GMC Syclone down to the second, and third place spots.
Anthony Vaughn it is considered a production truck as it comes with factory backed warranty. Same as the Hennessy trucks. But I see your point, was just saying it is considered now to be the quickest of them all. Either way it’s useless for a truck up here.
Correct, you can get a factory warranty when purchased through a dealer with those modifications. However, said vehicles are still considered to be modified and not production as the modifications weren't performed by the manufacturer. Nightmare might be the fastest modified truck, but not production. Different category.
Anthony Vaughn well I stand corrected then, article I read must have been a little misleading. I suppose the Tesla truck will be quicker then all anyways if/when produced.
I guess I'm old, I love the warlock, little red Express and the power wagons. I also liked the Dakota sport convertible, and the aftermarket little red Dakota.
I have a Hemi GTX #272 in plum crazy purple! Came across this video while searching for cam swap videos. Really neat, most people don't even know a lot of these existed!
My wife has a 2005 Daytona 4 door 4wd in near mint condition with only 46K miles...beautiful truck!!! I have a 2019 Charger and a 2016 Big Horn. 3 hemis at our house. We're definitely big Mopar fans!!!
I consider my 06 Ram pretty rare, about two years ago, I sent my vin number to FCA to find out what options were on the truck, and I was informed that my truck, with the ThunderRoad package, was one of only three produced for that year.
The 2006 Dodge Ram night runner hemi. Only built from January 06 to June 06. Built 1355 some 4 door and some 2 door. Of the 4 door they built 790. Mine was built in April. Chrysler didn't badge this trucks so I had to contact them at corporate and they sent me the info. Thanks for the videos they are great.
I had worked for Dodge from 2000-2018 and sold at one point most of these. I even had a used car manager that got his hands on a pre-production Rumble Bee at auction that we sold. There was a number plate on the inside, but no number.
16 rebel was my favorite. And the mopar in black with the blue stripe. Thanks you made me want one of those in black. Well you didn’t make me, you just opened my knowledge of it and now I want one.
No love for 2nd Gens? 1996 saw the Indy Pace Truck and even rarer was the Carolina Edition. These were only available in black as SLT regular cab short bed 2wd versions. They featured 3 Carolina Panther logos 1 above each Ram 1500 badge and the other on the right side of the tailgate. Along with blue matching pin stripes around the top half and above the wheel wells. Of course they were only available in NC & SC. I've only seen 2, one in Conway, SC and the other in Mars Bluff, SC.
I remember in the programme Walker Texas Ranger Ranger Walker and his partner drove around in a Dodge Ram pick up. Unfortunately Chuck Norris never got a special edition made.
got a 2005 Dodge Ram Daytona silver 4x4 Quad cab. Super fun truck, dad was the first owner and now he passed it down to me and it’s my first car. Has 115k miles on it. It’s been abused and still to this day has had 0 problems. Takin really good care of it goes along way.
Saw an SRT-10 at the park the other day, Viper badging and all. It looked like it’s seen better days but good to see it was put through its paces its entire life.
I love my 3rd Gen single cab it’s a 2004 5.7 hemi silver with 120,6xx miles, at 8:25 is how I want it.. I already have the spoiler and I added a sunroof. Silver looks so good
No SS/T, Indy Pace truck or even the Gen 2 off Road edition that came with 4.10 geared axles, a front trussed axle, front tow hooks, off road decals 17” alloy wheels and a slightly higher lift over the stock 4x4 Ram’s! You bet I’m disappointed big time! There was also a Mexico version of the SS/T called the Ram Runner it had a V10 magnum engine under the hood! A Gen 1 Rod Hall edition Ram was also a cool truck not many see or know about. I am really surprised there was no Gen 2 coverage at all though, considering every Ram afterwards other than Gen 5 was molded from it🤬
GREAT VIDEO! Owner of an 04 rumble-bee in black! I love all these trucks. This was the last gen of the good looking ram trucks imo. They are pretty gross now and no special packaging anymore. Bummer.
@@acebuick I have a few 66 t bird rag top, 66 hemi charger , 72 big block mustang Mach 1 . I they all get driven just not much. Lol but my daily is a 2020 ram or my old 2001 wj.
I have a 04 Yellow Rumble Bee #0124 & love it... I've changed cams & changed to 6.1 heads & intake (a lot better air flow) CAI, Headers with gutted cats & 2½" straights that dump in front of rear axle... Changed to 4.56 gears but wish I had went with 5.13's... Running 20" wheels I am only at 2900 rpm at 100 mph so it's not gear bound... (Diablo tuner has allowed me to do away with the speed limiter) I need to change trans & add a stall converter but that will have to wait till this virus thing goes away... It is really quick for a 5500 lb tank... Thought about a Paxton or Turbo but for that money I can get a nice SRT-10 to PLAY WITH... I don't put enough miles on it a year so I really don't mind only getting 9mpg on 93 octane...
The Yellow Rumble Bee and Go ManGo! Datona are a common sight where I'm from in Michigan. I've seen quite a few over the years. Granted, those are the ONLY special addition Ram trucks I've ever seen.
I recently picked up an 04 Laramie, one strange thing about it, its not 2WD/4WD, it is full time AWD and optional 4WD. May have to pick up a Daytona wing for it, they are a great throwback!
Great video! In all your research have you found anything on a 2004 Ram 1500 quad cab R/T? My son owns one and I have never seen another. It is an AWD with the 5.7L Hemi Magnum. Info on this truck would be awesome!
Luis Bolanos I was talking more about the rattle can looking interior lol. Also define a dodge will never be a ricer, cus I hope your not talking about there owners
Luis Bolanos also that spoiler and bodykit are completely wasted on that vehicle. If we are talking stock then theres no way you will see any benefit to a spoiler on a vehicle that takes 7 sec to 60 and tops out at 120. Most vehicles don’t feel the effects of a spoiler kick in till your at 100. If the engine was heavily modified for drag purposes then ya you’d have a point, i guess
Luis Bolanos ya but thats not what we are talking about. We are talking from factory it came rice. It doesn’t have the numbers to back up to bodykit and spoiler (unlike something like the srt-10) therefore it is Rice. A v6 challenger could gap it for lols sake
Don't forget the "Built to Serve" editions released this year. Built to honor the military and veterans. Each branch of the military (and the Coast Guard) has two color choices. One standard color and one special production color. Only 1000 of each color will be made (only 500 of each for the Coast Guard) and they all have different drivetrain and interior packages. They all have the Off Road group and blacked out bumpers, grills and black running boards. They also have exclusive Technical Gray colored 20" wheels. I bought the US Army edition in March in Gator Clear Coat and it is an absolutely beautiful truck.
I’ve got a nightrunner regular cab, if there’s any info or pics you want to do a special on the srt10’s I’ll gladly get ya what you need. Good episode, thanks for the hard work and sacrifice 🙏🏻
It's funny because I have seen every single one of these. Here in Michigan Its also funny because I'm the youngest in my family but the only ome who actually care's and knows how special these are when i see one
I have a 03 metallic silver 4X4 1500 that has a plastic front bumper with a painted back bumper with a 4.7 V8 and a Sliding middle window. I've never seen another one in person or any of these for that fact. Great video.
Love the way you do these, I'm a Ford guy at my core but I love these videos about dodge/mopar products. Very Informational... Have you every thought about doing a Best of the Rest video? I have a '15 Ford Edge Sport with the 2.7 EcoBoost and I'm def craving a video done in your style for the history of the Edge.. keep up the great work!
You should do a video of the different types of dodge dakotas because i had a dodge dakota stick that wohod do 0 to 60 in 4 seconds flat, it was only a 4.7l v8
I have a 2005 2wd regular cab go mango orange Daytona edition Ram 1500. It's number 1520. I bought it used in 2007 with 24k miles on it. I have 212k miles on it now. It has been a great truck. Lots of fun and a real head turner.
Back in the day, I actually got to test drive a red 1/2 ton Ram with a V10 and manual transmission. It was a fun drive. A V10 with straight pipes was impressive! Too bad I got declined on my loan app... That was a cool truck!
The GTX is an 04 only model , According to some internet sources LA West says the break down is 211 Hemi Orange 97 Sublime Green 72 Plum Crazy 53 Top Banana Yellow 1 Cool Vanilla 434 TOTAL Hemi Orange RC-196, 15-QC, Sublime RC- 90 ,7- QC Plum Crazy -68 RC, 4-QC 53 Top Banana RC Legend Motors Worldwide bought LA West in 02/03 and closed them down on 2007 , The guy I know at LMW says their records show for 04 217 Hemi Orange,(196-RC ,21-QC) 72 Sublime (65-RC 7-QC) 72 Plum crazy (68-RC 4-QC) 72 Top banana all RC 1 Cool Vanilla only one is RC. 05 GTxtreme #s are Orange 66 (56 RC 10 QC) Sublime 44 (37 RC 9) Plum Crazy 19 ( 12 RC 7 QC) Top Banana (15 ALL RC) Black 14 (All RC Cool Vanilla, 8 (6 RC 2 QC) Total of 156 No break down between 4x2 and 4x4 , also the "oem" American Racing wheels, all 04s got them, the 05's up to # 0072 got them after that they got the "butterfly wheel" the chrome was flaking off as early as 6 months after sale. GTX name was dropped after pressure from Mopar groups complaining about the GTX name on a Dodge...so 05 it became GTxtreme.......Mopar lovers....My God are we a odd bunch.
They're a lot of 4dr FAKE BEES BUT NO RUMBLE BEE EVER LEFT THE FACTORY... The stripes are cheap on line & you can buy the ground effects, hood scoop & interior trim pcs on line as well... You could also just paint the trim pcs & buy the stickers to look authentic... If anybody ever claims they have a four-door BEE have them run their VIN number and they'll find out exactly what they have...
As a company car I had a red two door 2005 SRT10, then a GoMango 4x4 two door, then a Commemorative SRT10 , then a black SRT10 two door, then a 2wd hemi 2500 SRW( LOL) then the Night Runner Quad. Blew the motor in ten miles. Balanced and blue printed. Got 15MPG after that. Whomever got that one used got a stellar ride!!!
2007 was in Las Vegas at lvms doing the petty NASCAR experience. Parked next to a srt10 in the parking lot. Top speed they would allow was 135 mph. I figured they would announce speeds at the end but the results came in sealed envelopes. 134.389 was mine. While sitting on the tailgate of my truck the srt10 owner walked by. I asked "how fast ya go" his answer.. "95" I laughed and said " you drove faster than that getting here". He just shook his head and said " I know" hahahahaha
My grandpa has had a silver Daytona ram since it was brand new. He doesn’t really drive at all so it only has around 88k miles. It’s in great condition especially for being in iowa lol
Let me know when you wanna do the Jeep Wrangler JK series buzz models. I set most of em up. I wouldn’t have numbers tho. The RumbleBee and sorta came from the “ThunderRoad” 2wd pkg the year before. It was an effort to push 2Wd as 4WD was maxed on production. As well push MOPAR kits. The GTX were not done by Dodge. They were done by an up fitter LA West. Same goes for the old BR Richard Petty Edition as opposed to say the SS/T
I bought a 2005 silver Daytona regular cab 4x4 with only 65,000 miles last month. Showroom quality. Not a speck of rust anywhere. Of course it had the 5.7 hemi with 345hp but the original owner installed a chip on it and not its putting about 410 to the wheels. Love love love the truck. It will scream. I will never sell this truck. I looked for 2 years and found nothing. Finally I found it.
