I love your videos! I'm 4'10" and 105 lbs, 61 years young. Don't want to dress too young but don't want to look like a little old lady either. I've been able to incorporate your styling tips into my existing wardrobe. Ordered from your boutique...Can't wait to try on my new clothes!
I Thank you. I am Austrian, so I do not see your measures. I am 78, 151 cm, 37 kg. I am interested in not looking queer, either. I noticed many mistakes, and appreciate tips.
1. wear high-rise pants; 2. Wear dresses instead of 'separates'; 3. Choose the right bags; 4. Carry your bag well; 5. wear maxi dresses; 6. wear a jumpsuit; 7. wear flare leg jeans; 8. wear skirts instead of shorts; 9.
Im 5ft 2 and LOVE wearing midi skirts with tops and sandals. I think it depends on your body shape as well. What doesnt suit me is long wide legged trousers which i would love to wear, and culottes
I can't wear things tight fitting. But I found that getting a shorter tunic helps. I hope this helps short Muslim sisters who don't want a belt base or tucked in look. If you wear a long skirt, get something that is high waisted to hide the too part of the skirt. If you want your tunic shorter or that your current tunic or shirt is hits your waist, you can get a sleeveless dress under the shirt or tunic Thank you for the video, helps me get ideas!
Another great video Chi, I have learned more from you about how to dress myself than from anyone else in my whole life (and I'm almost 50)! Best wishes from Scotland 💞
Lol! I can do relate to the adjusting of car seats that’s why I don’t like switching cars. My son is tall and when he drives my car he says wow! How much he has to pull car seat back he is tall. How can this shorty have a tall son? Will never understand. 😉 Better stick to learning how to better dress 👗 a petite. Great videos! Enjoying them all. Thank you!
Thank you for all your tips, I'm 4'11, thanks for your honesty and realistic outcomes. You have helped me so much. I adore your humor too, hope you can make it to Australia one day !
You are brilliant! This is all amazing!!!! Ahh the huge bags is hard!! And i have a son, too but ur so right! Its overwhelming. And the long bag . So guilty
I love how the jumpsuits look on you! The problem I have with them is that if I have to run to the restroom I have to take the whole thing off, and that can be awkward.
I just love your videos! I'm learning lots. And I'm neither short (at 5ft 7in) nor young (at 71). But I have a very long torso and short legs. I'm trim and slim but have difficulty dressing to make my legs look longer. Almost everything you say applies to me! Terrific! Thanks!
Found your channel weeks ago, i love your videos and your personality, i have been binge watching all your videos i'm also 5'2 so your videos help alot thank you❤️❤️
Great tips, as always, Chi. I love dresses, for their comfort, too, especially in summer. Who wants to wear tight jeans and a tucked-in top when it’s hot? Not me.
Thank you for the advice on high rise jeans. I shy away from them because I have put on weight and have a bit of a tummy now. I didn’t want to accentuate that and I didn’t want to feel uncomfortable. Maybe I will give high rise a try.
I've been watching your videos and love it so much.Im under 5 feet and petite,,so by watching your videos help me figure out what to wear ...Thank you so much .
Chi, your advice helps me so much especially when taking my Instagram photos. I got a great maxi dress photo. I also agree about flares. I never gave them up!
a good thing to be short is that you can have high heels without getting too long, have discovered that the higher the heels, the further back I can sit when I drive. the disadvantage is that in some cars the seat belt ends up on the neck when you are short
Hi Chi love this video and I agree dresses looks the best with high heels. Love the flair jeans with the pointy toe heels to give it that elegant look showing the point of the heels is gorgeous and chic. Have a lovely day!! ❤😊
Hi Chi, thank you so much!! I found your channel by chance a week ago as I'm planning a wardrobe declutter. I have several wardrobes of clothes but nothing to wear! (I just bought your book too and waiting for it to arrive any minute to start...very excited!) I'm 55, 4ft 10", 115lbs. I have an hourglass figure but since the menopause I've thickened, the 24" waist I enjoyed even in my late 40's has gone 😭(Covid didn't help!). I've spent my entire life struggling to find clothes that fit and even though many stores offer petite sizes, they're not designed for under 5ft. I can't tell you how many trousers, jeans, sleeves and skirts I've had to have altered over the years! I've also made many poor buying decisions based on fashion or something I've liked rather than what suits me (won't be doing that again!). Thanks to you (though it came as no huge surprise!) I know I have short legs, a short waist, a long torso and a long rise. That's why I've always found high rise trousers/jeans more comfortable. I'm about to donate all my low rise jeans that I spend the whole time yanking up and make my hips look even wider! I do almost always wear V necks and 3/4 length sleeves but now I know they suit me and it's not just because I'm sick of rolling my cuffs up or looking like I'm wearing my big sister's clothes! I always wear cropped trousers in the summer because I don't have to take them up but now I know how to wear them better and not make my already short legs look cut off! I'm now gong to give boot cut and flares a go as I've always worn skinny jeans thinking they make my legs look longer. I do have a question....I'm looking at a dress to wear to an evening garden wedding reception. The dress is a soft georgette V neck wrap style but it's ombre, a darker purple at the bottom shading to a lighter lilac shade on the top, will this work? (I have big boobs!). I'm not sure what length is best to balance the darker bottom? They also have one that's darker on the top and lighter on the bottom. My friend (who isn't petite but has a short waist) sent me the details of a website who will customise the whole dress based on my specific measurements so I'm very excited. No idea of the quality but the price is reasonable and they offer a full refund or remake, so I'll give it a go and let you know as this could be useful to all the beautiful but vertically challenged ladies here!
Thank you so much, Chi. I am only 5’2’ like you. And would not have ordered a maxi if I hadn’t seen your video. You are super helpful. And I love your enthusiasm! Thank you! 😊🙏🙏
my favorite pants are flared, but now i wear mostly joggers and a plain black tshirt. it may or may not be the most flattering thing for me to wear, but it is comfortable for me.
I think a small crossbody bag looks good on petite people when it is actually worn across the body, and the trap is not too long. The one shown in this video had a long strap, but had a large bag hanging to the side, not across the body. I liked your tips.
I only like shoulder bags, but they can be so hard to find these days. Everything seems to be a top-handle bag with a cross-body strap, I don’t like carrying a bag either way, short handles or cross-body. I like a medium-size, like you do, Chi, it gives me the capacity I need without overwhelming my frame. A small bag is great for evenings, parties, etc. but who’s gone to any in the past year and a half? I have enough to last me a lifetime, one gold, one white and one silver.
Ah yes, I'm a petite apple. The beginning with you in the car made me crack up. Just have to make sure I don't slide the car seat too far in cause then my stomach is in the steering wheel. lololol BTW, new sub. I'm a medium/8-10 size but most apple shape videos are for plus size so yours are really helpful.
Thank you for this video. Yes, there are a lot of short women out there. All models are tall and slim and able to wear anything. It makes us shorties feel so miserable. Please make as many videos as you can.
Great tips! Note Whenever you point to the screen for your next video, I keep pressing on the screen… Everywhere… but it does not lead to the next video.
I love watching your videos ,,i learned a lot from you ,,the style for short lady like im only 4'11 ,67 years old i still love fashion,,,watching from Davao City Philippines
@Julie Villaruz, Hi! Thank you so much for watching my videos! Age doesn't matter in what you want to wear or whatever fashion style you want. Hope it helps! 🥰 So much appreciated of you!! 💖💘
Thanks Chi!! It’s a pleasure to found you; what is the correct length for maxi dresses with sandals o heels and as petite woman can I wear floor dresses ?just It’s overwhelming
The red looks gorgeous on you! I am also adding red to my wardrobe. Yes dresses are MY BEST FRIEND!!!! I have so many of them. So easy and quick. I just love them! I gave up big bags. I generally carry small bags. Yes I was carrying cross body but I have changed the straps and now. Wow I cant wait to watch the next video. My favorite is Maxi dresses! I am crazy about jumpsuits! I am a dress girl but love jumpsuits next! I love your examples. I dont want to go back to flare leg jeans. I am a skirt girl also! And i do love them better than shorts. And skirts are easier. I do like rompers also. Ones that look like a top and short skirt are really cute. I wonder if they are right for petite women. I have been looking but not purchased rompers yet. I am wondering if you are going to address them? Thank You- I have broken some of the rules in my wardrobe like a larger polka dot dress, however I got 3 compliments on the dress at the dentist office today. In fact one very young girl would like to go shopping with me, she said. I have learned so much from you and thank you for telling how to fix things to make things work with just a tweak! I love that! :-)
Thnx for sharing your valuable knowledge with us chi ❤️... Am petite (5'3" long torso) n hv protruding belly n lower bupa so dresses dnt luk dt flattering on me... Always struggling with length of the top on top of jeggings due to camel toe issue... Cn nyone hlp solve the problem 🤔 Stay Blessed Stay Happy Guys 😘🤗🤩🥰
Nice video and great tips! Unfortunately, I have a really hard time finding clothes that flatter my body, as I am petite (5'2) and not overweight, but I have wide hips and a big bootie (and a bit of belly), and most things I try just don't look good on me. It's depressing! LOL
I have three step boosters: they all fold up. A three-step beside the fridge, a one-step on the other side of the fridge, and a two step beside the bathroom sink so that I can reach all the shelves in the linen closet. I don't think petites can live in modern kitchens without help reaching the top of the fridge and the top shelves of cupboards. Just be careful and don't fall. If you can find three-steps and more with a side and top rail to hold onto, you will feel and be safer.
You can wear what's considered "high waist" to you. Try around 9" rise maybe. Typically you do not want the pants to look like it's right under your bust.
Thanks Chi💕 I have been watching your videos for the last few weeks and now, I keep in mind all your reconmendations before I get ready to go out 🙂 now Im on the hunt for perfect nude stilettos 😆 could you pls make a video about shorts for different body types? I trouble finding the right style of shorts whichever I try I look heavier than my actual size Im 5'2 19/32 and 132lbs 34D 37-28-37 with hourglass body type, I hope I wrote the right sizes because we re using different sizing, Much love from Turkey🇹🇷
Hi Sena- sure! High waisted shorts are typically slimming, as they emphasize the narrower part of your torso. If you have large chest, your top also plays a big role in how you look in a shorts outfit. I'd wear something that defines your waist.
@@PetiteDressing Thank you for your response 💕 the waist isnt problem actually, i usually use mid or high rise jeans or shorts, the problems on shorts are the leg fit (i hope im using the right term), i dont know which length and fit (wide or narrow leg)should I use, whichever type I try didnt seem to work on me 🙃 I cant wait for your new videos 💜
I am 5' I have a hard time finding the right dress foe me because I have big arms (fat) 😔 I want to have tone arms, but I'm so impatient. I like your videos. Thank you.
