Ive been to Ecuador the past three years for one month every time , and i cant agree more that effectively the people are so kind lovely and also very helpful. Just cant wait to be back... after the pandemie. Hopefully next year.
I live in Ecuador, but never been in Ayampe! Wow, thanks for showing it to the world. We must do everything to keep it that way, to protect them from "industrialization".... Olón and other peaceful places must keep like that!! Hey, and your bikes???
I've been considering moving overseas from the States, and Panama was the front-runner, but your videos about Ecuador are definitely exerting a pull on me.
20 more days until my son and I come back to Ecuador. I think we will need positive vibes/thoughts to get there. This is our 3rd attempt, 1st time they canceled our flight 2nd time my wife had a positive test and cannot make it this time. 3rd time!!!!!!!! My father and I went fishing around that island and he caught a 17 pound grouper and the captains wife cooked it for us. We enjoyed it with his whole family. Amazingly generous people in Ecuador. Thanks jp.& Amelia
Ayampe is my 2nd home here in Ecuador after Vilcabamba. Love that place and spend time there every year. The rocks on the beach come and go, depending on storms, tides, river spilling, and since Carnival there is a life guard on weekend with a fantastic bamboo tower, i was just there a month and go back in April....Your video expresses the vibe very well and your comments are accurate..
It’s called Los Ahorcados, the myth tell us that pirate Drake hang the mutineers there...but is but a legend. Thanx for going to Ayampe, unfortunately it was cold (as it shows) but you guys made my day. Next time take a pick at the “vista” from Finca Punta Ayampe. At the end of December, weather will be sweet so plan your next visit then. Aw! And we do not have live guards yet, we take care of each other inside the sea....
Lovely video. It is so pleasant to see you enjoying my country. Don't get tired of exploring Ecuador. It contains hundreds more interesting places for visiting.
We are actively researching moving/retiring to Ecuador. Your videos have been immensely helpful - I've watched a couple dozen of them - and we purchased your course. Thank you for your professional, clear, engaging, and candid view of the different aspects of the expat life there. So much to learn and figure out, but it is becoming a manageable reality.
The little island is called Ahorcados you are right, I lived in the area for 7 years, it felt nostalgic to see your video. If you think its a sleepy town, 10 years ago there wasn’t half the places there is now. But yet the locals have managed to not let it its charm completely dissapear. Thanks for the fun video!
Beautiful. I might try Ecuador when I leave Guadalajara. Im a millionate with a 12% chance of being alive in 3 years so Ive got the budget for it. Lol. Cancer is such a pain in the butt.
Como siempre un buen video ustedes son los mejores en esto, sigan asi con esa humildad y carisma que los caracterizan, gracias por hacer conocer nuestro ecuador
This town has the vibe of how Montañita use to be waaaay back in the day. Nature, architecture, etc. The people of Ayampe must try at all cost to keep it exactly that way, unspoiled. Thanks for making this video. 👋😎
Enjoyed the video immensely...felt like I relaxed and I was there...great job...will need to checkout that area..when we visit next year..thank you aging
Ohhhh, it's so cool you've discovered a new place so close to your home where you can do new things! Wow, I can't wait to move to Ecuador!!! Thank y'all so much for all the exploring you do on our behalf! Nos vemos!
JP and Amelia iam going back Home to My Country 💙 Ecuador and part of the Big Puzzle for Me to Move Back The Respect and Love for My 💓 Country and I will be Happy to See you Both and will Teach you Spanish!
I think I just found my retirement spot, love it ! I love the sign said " no caca de perro," in english its " no dog poop ' . lol I stayed in Puerto Lopez and did everything you said !
Beautiful place. Seemed quiet and. a perfect place for a respite from the hustle and bustle of a more populous place. I agree with Mr Sarmiento - a gem.
I enjoyed that video..... was in Puerto Lopez last year, my tour guide , Alejandra , was an avid surfer who lived in Ayampe...she is Colombian who moved to Ecuador because she said it is a more stable country...
Amelia and JP you finally mentioned Puerto Lopez!! That is where we went for a few days and we loved it. Very bohemian town much like this one. We want to learn more about this area like lving accomodations cost of living and transportation. Than you. Marcela
2 months ago and already february and time going by fast. Love your updated vidoes. Thinking about traveling in the month of May to Ecuador to see the sights and decide if winter is an option to spend time in the country.
The 10th thing that amazes me about Ayampe, is that rarely you will see any sun. The only months that you could enjoy the sun here is from December to March ( if you are lucky to catch a sunny day ) . I do not want to be negative, but i think people need to know that Ecuador beaches are not as pretty as the ones we have in Florida, they are dark water with dark sand, dead fish smell and mostly cold water. Yes it is a peaceful town with few of yoga , surfing people and excellent food .
I rode my motorcycle from Quito to Puerto Lopez and took one of those whale tours that included The island, snorkelling, lunch and cruising around looking for whales, which we saw. An all day tour (10-5 ish). An amazing value and very interesting.
Hi guys. I haven't been able to watch your videos for a while so just catching up. Glad to see Amelia getting around with just a brace! Enjoyed the adventure...thanks for sharing. It's certainly not something for the comments section but I've often wondered how you folks feel as you watch the political craziness unfolding in the USA. Stay safe, be well. Love and respect from Senoia, GA.
I am enjoying your videos, Ecuador looks pretty nice, we traveled to Belize last year and are considering retiring there, for many of the same reasons you have listed.
Greetings from E. Euro. Pardon my French but I have to say it. You two have got the world by the balls. Never look back. What I really don't understand however is why more people don't do this. I guess it's the fear of change. I'm happy for you that you were not in that group. Good that you like sci-fi but sci-"fi" is not so "fi" anymore. I would add that sci-fi (or sci-non-fi) is a characteristic of people who think outside of common norms ,which is what really made your move possible.
I lived on O'ahu for 11 years (not by choice really) these visual are all very enchanting and remains of pictures of Waikiki in 1920-1930 pre-air travel and before the swamp was filled in ala-wai straighten and first frenzy of hotels built after the WWII. It odd I suspect most American fantasize about this kinda mellow life style but when they buy a property in Kaimuki ,Diamond Head, Kailua or the North Shore the first thing they do scrap/raise the charming old planation style house and put some 4000-5000 sq foot modern stucco ugliness, then live indoors with the AC on.
You should check out Ayangue, it is a beach area in a cove, so the water is pretty calm (ideal for children), there are several bars that serve cocktails, there are restaurants, etc Really a good place to relax.
Just wanted to take a moment in between binge watching your videos to say Thank You. Your efforts are changing the if only's and maybe someday's into real possibilities for people.😊
The water looks cold. Is it the Humbolt current that cools the water and influences the weather? In NC/SC, we get the Gulf Stream. You can get in the surf from May thru October, and beyond.
You really have made me think about moving to Ecuador a lot. Looks so beautiful. And my wife and I have been thinking really hard about becoming expats. Look forward to each and every one of your videos.
Hello friends , thank you for a new experience and views of another special place ! Wish all is well and happy during there difficult ! Enjoy and stay safe ...
