On Elysium (later Light's Hope) my first character was a feral druid, and - same as you - I found the Warden Staff in the early parts of BRD when I was around lvl 52-53 and my whole party was so generous that they let me have it although any of them could simply roll need for it as it is a world-drop BoE item. Faith in the community was restored that day.
Some Dude scummy because he wants to make money for the countless hours of work he puts into his content? If he’s able to make a living putting out videos that I watch for free more power to him.
I remember the Staff of Jordan. I gave it to a cousin whom has since passed tragically. I had forgotten until i saw this... Thank-you. The image of joy i remember he had is priceless.
This happenned almost 15 years ago. I was running in Southern Barrens and I was like lvl 37? This lvl 60 tauren warrior in tier 1 just stopped, opened up trade and gave me 250g. I will return the favor to a struggling player. I was /yelling "THANK YOU!!!" As he rode off. First best day in WoW Vanilla...
I had a similar experience! I was leveling my priest with some friends I recently met in Trisifal Glades. Someone shared something in general chat that they were excited about (can't remember what exactly) but most people were responding negatively. I on the other hand, congratulated him. Around 30 minutes later, we came across each other and apparently he had been riding around looking for me. He opened up trade and gave me 50g. I thanked him immensely and that was that. Friends were pretty envious though haha.
@@fizzleqt Because it happened to me as well. Some guild member handed me 200 gold and an epic axe and logged off forever. I never figured out why. I just know it happened.
Staff of Jordan was my very first epic I got when leveling through Stranglethorn Vale that I got off a random gorilla. It looked pretty awesome on my hunter.
I enjoy your videos a lot because I always get a genuine vibe from them. I also want to thank that you used WoD music (I adore Draenor for its visual and audio beauty).
@@vtr0104 I will have to check, but I have tons of 1h music and I pick parts from, that I think they go with the vide and with one another. Most of the time I I don't know the exact name of each song 😶 It's a mess in my music folder and knowledge.
I've been playing wow since cataclysm and always wanted to know how the original game was. After 1 month playing Classic I'm lvl 33 and honestly, even if it's hard and endless it has become my favourite Game. Good video! I really appreciate your clear voice.
Staff of Jordan dropped for me on my first priest during Vanilla. Think I popped about five veins when I saw it. Was in group with a rogue, who kindly said you can have it, you kept my ass alive for so long now. We where level 45 I believe. That was a good day. :)
Super excited to see you got the sponsorship you've talked about, you deserve every cent of it and more. Looking forward to seeing how you grow the channel and improve the quality of your already top-notch videos!
I created my lock about 3-4 months before BC released and made him a 49 twink cause I got eye of flame drop in an instance! Destro locks did wonders with it in bgs 😍
I remember I found a Shadowfang and sold it for a couple of gold to someone because I needed those gold to train spells... thought I made a good trade, but nah, turns out Shadowfang was worth alot more :P
Great video as usual. Here are some items for your next list - perhaps you've listed some of them in previous parts: Band of the Unicorn, Hardened Stone Band (both really expensive for green items), Crystalline Threaded Cape, Disgusting Oozeling and lots of the Abyssal items from mobs / bosses in Silithus.
oh,that music dude..that music..makes me feel always like electricity under my skin..some times..i feel my old friends questing around there..somewhere there..lvl up together..again..
My first epic BOE drop in vanilla was the Ardent Custodian. Dropped off a Naga Explorer in Stranglethorn Vale, I still remember how hyped I was to actually get a world drop BOE.
Do you have a spot you would farm, if you wanted to try your luck at getting warden staff? Where even if it doesn't drop, there is still some gold to be had
Amazing as always Frost, keep up the amazing work my friend. So many people love and appreciate the content you are creating. Thank you so much for what you are doing!!!
Just wanted to throw you an idea for a video/series focus that I think would be really popular: fresh server gold farming or economic strategy for the early server, what items to hold onto early to sell later, what items will sell abnormally high in the early days (low lvl wands for example), general strategy on being as economically smart early on. I think certain items people will be hoarding because of the overall huge AH purchasing power of 1g on a fresh server with respect to fixed gold cost things like skills, profession training, vendor items, etc. Example: Shadowfang might sell for 10g early but 100+g later .
Stockade Pauldrons are actually BiS for every Prot Pally for the whole expansion. There's no option better than those. On a Prot Warrior its pretty much wasted gold, since there are a lot better options to chose from and you will most likely replace them anyway with the Tier 1 shoulders, which are easier to come by. And don't be fooled, there are going to be Prot Pallys in Classic, especially in the 5, 10 and even 20 man raids. 40's unlikely, but also not impossible, since they're good Trash / Add Tanks.
The pattern for the robes is one of the items that don't automatically go to tailors. It always makes a robe that only the user can make. So its something that always should be rolled.
You should make your next video about items that will skyrocket in price due it upcoming raids/phases/events such as herbs, ores, potions, etc. I heard in your previous videos a few times about skyrocketing some of items, but list would be more than appreciated. Anyway thanks for great videos you make :)
4:02 Hunter weapon! Edit: I remember this staff dropped when we had a group up farming ogres in Tanaris. Our druid still didn't have a mount, gold was a pain to farm back then, so we all let him have it to sell at the AH to get his mount.
I remember getting a Glowing Brightwood staff and spending 3 days in Org trying to sell for a stupid amount of money. I think a Krol blade came into my possession once and was able to sell that for a nice chunk of change.
I doubt it. Thanks to the shit load of streamers the game is piss easy. And there knowing were the op weaps are. Ultimatly negating negating all this side shit.
I know you're busy playing beta but we need you frost :) maybe you could finish the class guides and start with paladin ? And don't forget to talk about the spelladin of course.
Hey, new subscriber here (MadSeasonShow recommended you.) I was wondering if there are any good ways to make gold with a group of two people that cannot be done solo.
The ones (Staff of Jordan)I always got were ferales drops as that area was my favorite to grind. Also I think I got the bright wood staff there too. If I recall the name right. It’s been a long time.
Cassandras grace dropped for me in Searing Gorge, TSM had it valued at 80g, an appreciated income but sadly not a few hundred I'd have hoped for a pre-BiS :)
I don't know why, but everyone making these videos always skip the Dazzling Longsword. That was a special weapon for me especially as I managed to have one drop for me around level 40. It is a epic one hand sword, requiring a level 36 character. On hit there is a chance to do some Dot to the target, but the best part is while the 30 sec DoT is ticking they are unable to stealth, or turn invisible. Needless to say this was highly sought after 39 twink weapon. I sold mine for 900g and stopped worrying about how I was going to pay for my epic mount.
At 6:17 you say that this staff is the only staff with armor in the game, it's not true because in Booty Bay there's a vendor that sells a green BOE Staff that's called Staff of Protection that gives 100 armor and 7 to all resistances :D it's BIS for feral tanks till they get the warden staff
So is regular sp/hp better than specific damage type e.g. shadow, frost, etc. power? Or were these specific damage types just to create more specificity in the itemization of gear so it would feel like it belongs to a class/spec?
The biggest problem I had with resist gear was how little protection it offered compared to what you lost in other stats. In my mind, if you change out half of your gear for a certain resistance, you should be near invincible in pvp when attacked with that element. But that isn't how it seems to work. You need to do more than a few resist gear items, but then your damage is very low, about on par with a wet noodle.
you would be surprised at how effective they can be, especially against certain bosses. …...in Karazhan I tanked the 3rd? boss as a holy priest using arcane resistance gear. as you said, my healing and stamina was about 2/3 of normal, but I was made near invulnerable against the boss.
Youre the only content-creator who adds flavor-text to your segments. I'll never not like your videos. Im going to have some collaborators help me make Classic WoW content that's more on the funny-side than the informative. You've basically cornered the market there Can you show some montage footage of your Beta Grind with highlights?
Thanks, can't wait to see your content 😊 I will make a montage with stream highlight in the future, and I think Frost will wanna make a video on bugs and updates and all that.
It is not true that Vanilla haven't had tanking paladins, we in our guild had one and he was one hell of a tank for the tanking ability of a paladin those days!
I'm here to ruin your day: Just think about all the noobs that will equip these items and then sell them to a vendor when they get something else. I bet that will keep you guys up at night.
I bought the staff of jordan for 26gold back in vanilla....damn if I knew it was worth that much I would had bank 600g for it! It was real early vanilla though like 2-3 months after game was release don't think twinks were even a thing back then. Cool to know it has some story about RL blizzard employee.
Love the vids but I think rate items should be on this list a bit more. I think most people will know if they get an epic world drop it's going to be worth a bit of gold
That necklace would be overlooked by a lot of people since frost resist isn't useful till Naxx. Also shouldn't be much competition to farm it till then either.
I wonder what the impact of videos like this will do to classic wow. We have way more information than we did back then. Wonder if that will compromise the experience. Good video nonetheless.
I think the ppl that want to go the extra mile will find info even without video guides, and the noobs that don't care, won't have the patience to watch them anyways, there's to much info out there and they need to filter it, time consuming..
