The factory air cleaner is actually a better cold air intake. It draws air through the fender , not the hot engine bay. Just block off the heat riser inlet .
@@doubledrodsandkustoms there’s also a tbi riser plate that raises the fuel injectors just a bit to allow more air into the manifold. Gives you better torque and gas mileage. I got all 3 in my truck and it feels better than new.
@@tonymontanamalverde thanks my guy, and this works with any cold air intake right ? And I have a throttle body kit does it matter witch kit I have or does it work either way as long as you have a cold air intake ?

U need a good with vents or block off tht filter from engine bay heat. Extend piping into inlet for air or reroute with a box. It’s going to retard the timing once hot
@joshuaknudsen8339 it's just an open element intake. But its not a cold air intake because it's sucking in hot, under hood air. Plus you're actually bolting it to the exhaust manifold. You're costing yourself hp, not gaining any....
