I enjoy all your videos. THREE MINUTES OR THIRTY!! These 3 minutes are like a 3 hour lesson. One thing promotes 5 things to happen almost automatically. Awesome!!
I’ve been fighting the “pulling everything left for months” and then finally stumbled on to your 3 Minute Fix video on the subject. I took your suggestion to the range and viola it fixed it the problem, and the better compression added distance! That having been said, what’s the equivalent solution for driver, if there is one? Thanks for your videos you’re awesome.
Hi Giles, love these 3 minute ones. So very true with your irons. By having 2 to 3 knuckles showing on your gloved hand is another way of gripping the club with a focus of also having the grip inline with the bottom of your fingers and not being in contact with your palm as you know. Keep up with the great content you provide.
@@Gilesgillgolf This is true. However it does help encouraging the other hand to come in and grip so the trailing arm sits lower as from a down the line perspective you can see the leading arm. The grip trainers are a good way of assisting in getting into the correct position. Thoughts?
@@marcusgeorge1825 again it’s easier to get the arms right then take your grip. The other way just leaves room for error. Also the arm positioning is more focused on how the arms work in the swing and not just how they contribute to the grip. If you want to have width, an on plane swing and a good release then your arms need to be in the correct position address
The left arm hangs naturally at 45. The right arms needs to turn under to match the 45 degree hang of the left. Both arms work together then and don’t fight each other. Right arm the culprit usually,
"...if I just let my arms hang, you can see they hang at a 45 degree angle..." Huh??? I understand everything you're saying except for this. How are your arms hanging at a 45 degree angle?
Stand up now, let your arms relax by your side and where do they naturally hang? They naturally will hang with internal rotation but simpler to say they hang rotated in at roughly 45 degrees. It’s how the human body is built
@@Gilesgillgolf Hmmm, ok, I see what you're saying. However, this is not so with my arms. The backs of my hands and forearms are facing nearly straight ahead. More like 80-85 degrees of rotation. But, I'd imagine this could vary somewhat from person to person.
The 3 minute Thursday sessions are great…..can you do one on transition with the driver and a second on completing rotation and follow through with the driver….much appreciate your efforts to make us all better golfers.
This set-up adjustment combined with keeping the right glute back during the transition has really helped my game! Butt end of the grip points to left hip at address with connection between the upper left arm and chest. Right elbow is relaxed and pointed down at the right hip.
Really like 3 minute ones, just quick, and to the point. Lots of others have a lot of repeating, and it gets old. Was wondering if you could possibly do a video that talks about which arm dominates the take away and the release please? Even when I shoot 74, I still get these thoughts and it causes me to stand over the ball too long or not trust the swing. I am right handed. Thank you very much. I want to take lessons with you, just hesitant with the whole doing it over the internet. Always had someone I went to see one on one, but just not thrilled with my current instructor.
There is no dominant hand in general. However everyone tends to have a dominant side so that would be your answer. Unfortunately it’s the only coaching I offer right now
Do you offer an actual consultation to see if we are a good fit and are looking for the same goals? I’ve seen other teachers and they try to recent the entire swing, instead of molding with what I have and my strengths. And then during lessons, they looked bored and just keep repeating themselves and I just lose interest to be honest. I want someone to take an actual interest in me getting better. And thank you for getting back to me so crazy quickly, you are by far the fastest response I’ve ever received. It’s usually always over a day later. I’ve been watching your videos and content for over a year. You just have a very easy way about you, approachable and seen you take a real joy in helping someone get better. Thank you
Set up is critical to good shot making. A golf swing cannot be consciously controlled. It happens too fast. Therefore, correct set up is essential. A 3 minute golf lesson is perfect. Too many swing thoughts set up a shot to fail. Good set up + good tempo = good shot.
@Gilesgillgolf Your concept of a short lesson and presentations are spot on imo. You'll help so many people enjoy the wonderful game of golf so much more. 👍
@Gilesgillgolf I'm glad I ran across your videos. Golf is a remarkable game imho. We challenge ourselves to think and act in new ways. We learn to choose our clubs, shape our shots, and accept our successes and failures with equal humility. I have long felt that if the world of humankind operated like a game of golf we would all be living in the kingdom of heaven as Christ described and demonstrated so aptly so that we can know "the truth, the life, and the way." Sadly, mankind has yet to break 80. But, today is a good day to try again. ❤
Great stuff. A subtle change at address, which has huge ramifications for the swing as a whole. For my mind, grip and set up is 90% of the golf swing. Also, 3-minute videos - excellent!!
Or stick with the swing that's natural too u,hit 100 balls and map it's movement and landing from your tee off, work the blade head slightly open or closed depending on how much you're slicing or hooking... Enjoy
Most amateurs natural swing has the face way open. If you get the arms & grip right then yes 100% swing your swing. But I cannot stress how important the arms & grip are. From there swing your swing
@@Gilesgillgolf amen,100%.. I'm no pro but basics work,iv seen my bro mess up his game trying too take on everything in fixing his game and his score doubled. It's all about where the club makes contact and the force working through the ball at impact which causes it 2 slice (fade, draw) . I think the biggest problem is getting the feet position right, too many top it or get way too much loft, honestly think you'd get more viewers around that topic boss
@@Wozza7 exactly. It’s amazing how many faults are linked back to poor arm position at address, poor grip, poor posture, etc. once you have that down & a basic understanding of what impact should look like then you’ll love the game & have some consistency
@@Gilesgillgolf 100% and seeing your clip today I'd say your approach and style would help so many golfers. Wishing u tons of success here and bringing the beautiful game to more
