9. Kirby's Adventure for NES (It's pretty weird that Nintendo was releasing and advertising a new NES game as late as '93, though I guess the last game to come out for the system was as late as '95)

29. Fred Penner Video and Music Collection (He continued to do his TV show on CBC in Canada until 1997, but Nickelodeon stopped airing it on their Nick Jr block only about a month after this aired)
30. The Enchanted Film Collection (The Gulliver's Travels cartoon seen here was done by Fleischer Studios in 1939, but lapsed into public domain. The rest of the cartoons here look like cheaply licensed or public domain cartoons from the 70's and 80's...the kind you'd find in the bargain VHS bin at Kmart)

I have a old Polaroid picture from 1991 that I took of the living room of my old house with the TV on showing a freeze frame of an episode of Captain N. In the foreground are my old NES and SNES systems. It’s now a major piece of contemporary American history.

The same feeling I get from watching these is the same feeling I get when I go up to my attic and go through all of my old Christmas decorations from over the years; Happy I got to grow up in the decade I did, but sad that it's over and at times I wish I was still so innocent and happy.

There's something about commercials from 1993 compared to previous uploads from 1990 or 1991. It definitely "feels" like the 90s, by this point.

Late ‘91 was IMO when the transition was happening, especially in music when Nirvana broke out with “Smells Like Teen Spirit”. By ‘92 the so-called “90’s aesthetic” was in full force in popular culture.

@@80sCommercialVault When I look at the kids in commercials from 1990 and 1991, I see "80s kids". When I see kids in this upload from '93, I see "90's kids". Funny how that works.

Heck, I still saw this type of character in kids media into the rest of the 90s and into the beginning of the 2000s…or the slightly updated version of that with the “X-TREME” kid with the skateboard or rollerblades with a backwards baseball cap and sunglasses.

All Time Favorite Children's Songs- I had a music teacher in Grade School who had this album and my classmates and I used to sing along to all these songs. I can still sing along with them nowadays. Amazin' Fruit- Interesting that Pixar animated this commercial. I can totally see them making a movie with those gummy bear characters. Cool Whip- With a hefty looking cookie sandwich like that, that kid's in for one enormous sugar rush, enough to spoil dinner.

While Kirby's Adventure was not the last game Nintendo put out for the NES, it was the last one that got a major push and marketing campaign from the company, like the commercial here. And it deserved it, as Kirby's Adventure is one of the more technically advanced games graphically on the system that really pushes the NES to the max. If this game had come out two or three years earlier, it would have been a Super Mario Bros. 3-like sensation with players.

I think the closest we had to a 'video game starring you' was in a few contests Nintendo Power ran, where some kid got their face plastered to some power up in Turok 2. And then there was the Chris Houlihan room in Link to the Past.

I am pretty sure the small guy in the cinnamon mini bun commercial is Michael Manasseri from the Weird Science tv show, not totally sure but it looks like him.

There's no way to ever know the answers to questions like this. It isn't like they regularly publicized the winners of contests like this. It's also entirely possible that nobody won, as it relied on people keeping packaging that was most likely thrown out.

I remember sending away for a VHS of public domain cartoons through Amazing Fruit gummy bears. I wonder what happened to cause the candy to be discontinued?

Stunt Dawgs-Remember,these dawgs are professionals Batman: The Animated Series-loved this episode..wished theyd bring HARDAC into the comics universe Parker Lewis-the series finale i think was a "clip show" The Simpsons-"She's in the can,go away!" Bart probably wouldve told him the same thing Barney & Friends-several well-known Disney stars,including Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez,got their starts here before Disney Channel signed them Captain N & The Video Game Masters-Nintendo should revisit this property..would love to see Cap.N in either his own Switch game or as an unlockable character in the next Smash Bros. title

I had a bunch of those Kool Aid codes for the SNES contest but not enough to win and I did watch the winning announcement on CBS that Saturday morning! I Love Lisa was the Simpsons rerun advertised here - right after the part they showed: "Mr. Simpson, the tar fumes are making me dizzy! Yeah, they'll do that."

The All Time Children's Songs ad at 1:36, I'm surprised that they were still pressing vinyl in 1993. I would think that it would be all CDs and tapes at that point.

That ad actually dates from the mid-late 80’s. They probably still had vinyl records in stock to sell, even in ‘93.
