I don’t remember a lot about the movie Wolf, but I sure remember what happened when I got home from seeing it…The O.J. Simpson White Bronco chase was on TV.

4. True Value Hardware- My parents and a bunch of people who lived in my neighborhood used to own a bunch of trash cans that look like the one at 1:27. 11. Hot Pockets- I used to eat a lot of Hot Pockets during the 90’s and I always quoted the slogan “What are you gonna pick?” every time I was eating one.

Jaguar was just a mistake waiting to happen, though Tempest 2000 is one of the few titles that stood out. It even got its music released on CD. While this was common in Japan, it was unheard of at the time in the US.

The Jaguar (or Crapuar as I called it) was just a recipe for failure. It was hard to develop for, had almost no third party support, mediocre first party support, a terrible controller, underwhelming graphics and sound and a plethora of technical issues (count how many games had no music). It did give us Tempest 2000 though.

@@kennyaustin429...Yeah, agreed, but have you seen what one of them go for now on ebay mint?...$1,200 easy, who in there right mind would pay that? *Even a collector would be nuts to spend that kinda money* haha

Good to see a sneaker commercial from 2 icons from the Spike & Mike animation collection. The Mad Doctor of Borneo use to have one clip on MTV's Cartoon Sushi for their Halloween special in 1997. Lupo The Butcher had MTV spots as well as a short film that came from Spike & Mike, and animated by the man who gave us MTV's The Brothers Grunt and CN's best series ever known as Ed Edd n Eddy. The 90s was a very edgy time.

If it wasn't for all the commercials, I'd never have known how important collect calls were before cell phones basically killed them.

13:27 I bought my first car, a bright blue Dodge Neon, in May '94. It had its issues, but I loved that little car.

The Converse commercial reminds me a LOT of MTV's "Liquid Television" series. It wouldn't surprise me at all if one of the animators who made cartoons for that show was also commissioned for that Converse ad.

Did anyone have an Atari Jaguar? I knew no one that had it growing up. I don’t even remember seeing it advertised on TV back in the day.
@yusakug
@yusakug 29 дней назад
I remember it being advertised quite a lot, especially the Summer of 95, when the Saturn and PlayStation were hitting, and Atari was aggressively advertising that 64 Bits was better than 32. Like you, never knew anyone who had one. Only games that stood out to me for it were Tempest 2000 and Alien vs. Predator.

I have two Jaguars, actually.

I should have specified if anyone had one when the Jaguar was relevant. I remember seeing ads for the PlayStation, N64, and even the Saturn (I probably would have asked for one for Christmas had I not seen Super Mario 64). But I never saw ads for the Jaguar. I don’t think I heard about it until around the time that the Dreamcast came out.

@stratoplayer1988 The Jaguar's commercial failure was what led to Atari leaving the console wars in 1996. It may have been more powerful than the SNES and Sega Genesis technology-wise, but it lacked the things that made the SNES and Genesis successful; memorable games. Nintendo's top mascot was Mario and Sega's was Sonic. Not to mention, the Jaguar's advertising campaign was disastrous, with ads showing someone throwing up after playing Cybermorph and an obnoxious teacher insisting that Jaguar was the best console just because it was technologically superior.

Even though I grew up in WABC territory every summer I'd get treated to WPVI on vacation going further south in New Jersey! Their Million Dollar Movie presentations were just like the ones I'd watch late at night on channel 7 back home! Many of them were also on both stations (such as TAP shown here).

I never had an Atari Jaguar or played Tempest 2000 (until I did at a Atari event a few years back) but, my God, I sure love the music from that game and listen to it occasionally

15:56 - It annoyed me when networks would do this, especially if the credits had a great song I was wanting to hear…Also, The Great Alaskan Adventure sounds like an early 80s video game.

The Great Alaskan Adventure is a lot like The Oregon Trail but with a LOT more bear mauling.

Maverick and Cowboy Way…Hollywood sure was banking on Westerns Summer 94. Must have been City Slickers that inspired it. I’m sure City Slickers 2 killed the trend.

Volkswagen Jetta-ad looks like Michael Bay directed it Tempest 2000 for Atari Jaguar-commercial voiceover by Vin Diesel Hot Pockets-never eat those directly out of the microwave The Cowboy Way-that time when Jack Bauer teamed up with Woody from Cheers One Of Her Own-"You haven't got a *PRAYER*!!!"..Greg Evigan didnt make a convincing villain Terminator 2: Judgment Day" End Credits-featuring Guns n Roses's"You Could Be Mine"
