Thank you Chris. For whatever reason, as an older codger I never seem to understand many review videos…except yours. You explain everything very well. Not to mention you should be a broadcaster for the sport. Your demeanor and voice is perfect! But hold off for a while…I still need to watch you bowl.
I could watch Chris bowl all day, I'd definitely like to listen to him as a broadcaster after he's done bowling. I returned to bowling after a hip replacement just over a year ago and trying to get back into the swing of things. Chris is always good to watch on the lane and get reviews from and I learn a lot.
This was a great review! The ‘how urethane was meant to be thrown’… two handed release had me giggling!! 😄… Even though I already have a Pitch Black and UC3, this looks like it would be a good complement for both.
Apparently the Fate must be coming as well judging by the name on the scoring monitor. But like what I am seeing from the Zen U. Seems to bridge the gap between the Pitch Black and UC3.
Wish they would come out with different colors for urethane other than black. I think it would sell more if they came out with a blue or red urethane ball.
I track a smidge higher than the track you're showing at 7:03 and I've been working super hard to get it higher for years now to no avail....was that you purposely trying to spin the ball compared to your normal shot?
I wouldn’t worry too much about moving track up in the modern game. More about understanding your roll and drilling balls accordingly. Lower tracks has some benefits now as surfaces get more beat up
Can you explain why you use such a large MB to PAP number like 9 on the layout? I've seen you use numbers greater than 7 for your layouts recently and I'm just curious as to why you use numbers greater than 6-3/4?
Same question I had, I thought that number just moved the CG mark around which doesn’t matter being a symmetrical core it’s the same all the way around
With the 6-6-3/4” MB TO PAP It has to do with what the migrating axis and when it meets up with the cg. In this case with the huge number I was just wanting to retain the urethane smooth downlane shape even with the stronger cover
It’s meant to exaggerate the smooth motion that urethane brings. I have lots of balls that hook downlane a lot. If I’m using urethane I don’t want that
