I don't care what engine anyone uses it always makes me happy seeing someone driving a mark 3 supra. The interior is much more comfortable and there's more than enough room for a JZ, UZ or an american V8 swap in the engine bay.. Also, even though the car is about 30 years old, the transmission and differential are both strong enough to hold close to 4 digit HP/TQ numbers....
I adore my 88' MK3, even though it's just a 7M-GE. Certainly not super fast, but the sound makes it feel like it's twice as powerful than it is. The interior is near mint and quite honestly it's the most stylish and comfortable car interior I've experienced. I've been in luxury cars that feel way less comfortable and cheaper than the MK3 Supra. It's a real gem.
@@OpenHeadersTV I have one that I daily for high school right now. I'm in an auto program so I get to work on it in class and stuff. I don't think I ever want a different car, it's such a beautiful interior and exterior and I love the way it drives. If you can find a clean one for a reasonable price and your not scared to work on it a good bit (mainly cause their 30 years old) then get it. I plan to do a full rebuild once I get the rest of the money pooled for it so I can start pushing it a bit more.
@@bearymos4805 Nice! Im a freshmen and own a 7th gen Celica, but unfortunately ‘87 turbos are hard to find these days. Mainly from what I’ve seen, you’ll see the ‘87 NAs and the 89’ - ‘91 turbos. and if you’re lucky a few ‘86. But I’ve never seen a turbo ‘87 before or even for sale on marketplace or anything like that. The ones that you do find though are like 50k because there stock and have like 12k miles.

LOL Anyone can claim a 2JZ swap... I've owned Supra's since I could drive I got my 98 off the showroom floor (as a Graduation present) with 11 miles on the odometer, and my 93 around 6 years later. 2JZ's have a VERY distinct sound to them and that sir is not a 2JZ. Anyone can claim a swap, but engine noise does not lie. I've heard 1000's of different 2JZ cars at events like TX2K and NOPI and so on and they all sound alike. Exhaust notes is one thing, but the engine always sounds the same.
That Car Guy LOL I could give a shit what the crew says. Like I said, I've seen and DRIVEN more 2JZ's than you ever knew existed. I can tell the sound of a 2J car from quite some distance and that is not a 2J. I guarantee if I sent a copy of this video to Geo from Real St he'd say the same thing. Or if I sent it to Titan Motorsports (the shop that built my monster Supra's) they would also say the same thing. Like I said before, engine noise DOES NOT LIE. So take your "onion" and sit on it. You've probably never even seen a 2J up close.
+The C240 If you look at the video, when the Supra does the half-assed burn out and lines up with the Hellcat, the stats for each car pop up in the top corners for each car, and for the Supra, it's 900+rwhp/800tq...it's It's there plain as day. I know there are other pop-ups saying 900hp, disregard those.
How do you figure? I have had 12 of them and the curb weight is 4460lbs stock. Granted I am sure he has some weight reduction done They are probably right around the same.
papa John's pizza where did I mention price? And I KNOW YOU don’t own neither so ;so observe from your small frame of perspective; because that’s all you have 😂😂💯
"Found the supra fangirl" Found the whiner! Score board doesn't lie, get over it and find some panties that fit ya better, so the rest of us don't have to hear ya whine...
interesting to read people's comments but sure it was a great race. I was the driver behind the hellcat which was 820hp to the wheels and missed shift 5th gear, also first time testing the new clutch. going back to shift s3ctor on April 24, 2016 with 400 pounds lighter, now it will be around 900hp and I will be power shifting and removing the diffuser kit. but overall the supra was an awesome car.
Those muscle fan kids who are saying Supra is light blah blah must know that Supra also had 2 cylinder less then hellcat.Moreover,MK3 is not much light! its heavier then its modern sister MK4
Mines same year, just a 7M-GE. Certainly not a fast car by any means, but with the stance of it and the engine sound, it feels like you are going much faster than you are compared to something like my 94' Camry!
These USDM cars should stick to 1/4 mile prepped surfaces or causing huge smoke for drift events. There is no excuse for letting a 30 year old chassis w/ same HP outrun you.
+Fock You There's a little difference of over 1,000 lbs. you're not mentioning. I'm not saying you're message is wrong, but in its current state it's apples to oranges.
a Hellcat weighs around 4400lbs. this Supra weighs about 3800 straight from the factory. if you added 600lbs to the Supra, it might even it out considering the difference in speed that was shown between the 2. anybody have any clue as to how much changing it would actually take to make up that speed difference? it would be a lot in that short of a distance.
Look we lost and we took that loss. But the thing I'm happy about is that none of the Hellcat owners are saying that the driver has bad reaction time. If it was the supra that lost that would be the whole comment section, and right now the whole comment section is annoying fucks mocking hellcats.
+LY3E5SUPRA sick which parts? Drift motion built my r154 in my is300 as well. Induction performance built the motor. Once the ecu comes in alpha is going to retune. Sick build bro.
I'm trying to figure out if they are about the same in horsepower how did the Hellcat get owned like that? I know the Hellcat is heavy but I'm guessing the Supra was that light. It would have to be at least 500 lbs lighter.
chevymuscle4life it's called driver mod for one that couldn't get off the line for the life of him secondly he's in a manual which is much slower than the 8speed auto
You young idiots DON'T know about cars. That's why I see Hellcats, chargers, neon srt Getting their asses handed To them by older cameros And firebirds, and older zs.
Did he really have drag radials on the front of that supra? Smh.. I seen a civic with radials on the back too one day and I just had to race him in my work van. I will even spare you the verdict.
the slooow launch by the Dodge was the difference. better reaction times and it's probably a tie. trap speed was close only 2 or 3 lengths. not bad considering it's 2000 lbs heavier
