Please check out our second channel Wheels Plus / @wheelsplus611 One of the most iconic cars Nissan GT-R takes on Dodge Challenger Hellcat, Hellcat Redeye and Hellcat Charger - top speed, acceleration and drag racing domestic vs import.
Some others have mentioned on here before. They do launch tests where they only go hard for about 60 ft. That's why they lift off like they do in these videos.
What this video is illustrating is that, on the street, this is what you can expect a Hellcat to do. All that HP means nothing if you don't have perfect conditions, the right tire, and a prepped surface. On regular street tires and a public road, these big bad Hellcats get whipped a lot.
Na the only thing this video illustrates is poor driving... most of the cats were running high 12s and sometimes 13s those are almost scat numbers I've seen stock cats run low 10s especially redeyes 90% of people who have cats can't drive them properly hence why they usually always get beat by the "slower car"
@@WarWizardProductionsYeah, I missed that! Usually pressure would or will be released out of each exhaust tips. That looked like something came out under the passenger side rear or out the passenger side exhaust tip. Not sure, but it doesn’t look good!
Great video, it would be a great to see more videos from this channel, that are more lengthy, this was really enjoyable, hope more videos like this, come from this channel, it's nice to them, I really like this channel, and would really enjoy some longer videos, to enjoy this channel for longer than a few minutes
@@ahmeda3227 never even heard of that terminator, bullshit. Heard of crowd killer because that’s what they’re good for. But I hear everyone call all of them Godzilla. Oh well bro
No he is correct, with any all wheel drive system you lose more percentage of power through the drivetrain. (The driveshaft, tires, ect.) For example the 702 horsepower TRX when dino tested only puts about 500 of it to the ground.
That guy knew how to drive in Hellcat that turned 10.54 at 136 . I think he must have had trick stuff on the engine too. Anyway it is amazing how they can beat the crap out of these cars and they hold together. I wonder how much it cost to replace stuff that ultimately blows sky high; do not buy these used unless you know the history.
With some cars, it’s all about the car. With Dodge muscle, peak performance can only be achieved with a good driver. Perfecting a Hemi engine launch is a skill, and the only one in this video that was able is at 3:40.
@@therealjohndoe7852 what I’ve found is that hell cats and demons, even scat packs, have a relationship between hp and torque that gives these cars a ridiculous amount of power that a lot of people are unfamiliar with and downright afraid to fully engage. Especially since the power sometimes feels uncontrollable. These cars should really be 4wd to give drivers more control. In short, a lot of people are just scared to really push these cars to the limit.
Nah ur just saying that cause that’s the only one that won the grr won all them but this one so ur gonna use it as and excuse and say none of the hellcat owners knew how to launch
I rolled my eyes on most of these hellcat races. I'd love to own one, but yah can't expect to win ANYTHING if yah don't even warm your tires beforehand *eyeroll*
@Rederick fonz For me, it's all about opinion. Not only that, but if yah get good enough, with a tire, yah can do low 10s in hellcats. Again though, it's down to opinion
Honestly, most of that was painful to watch. Trust me, I’m no pro, but 1st trip to drag strip with HC, 6 spd by the way, 11.78. New rubber, but bone stock. I had a 392 car before and went twice, so again no pro. First and only trip in HC, 3rd and last pass, in a stock manual 🚀
@@dantheplumber3233 GTRs improve ALOT with slicks, its mandatory for GTRs running 9 sesconds or faster to use slicks inorder to grab. I'm FBO, ill run mid 10s in my R35, low to flat 10's with beadlocks drag wheels and maybe even in the 9's, stock engine, stock trans
uhh... drag is what they are built for and the maker and owners boast about soo... yeah that's an asinine statement. If we're doing a roll then we are carving some curves then too or else you're just looking to cherry pick a win in a singular circumstance that means next to nothing.
True there, sort of. I've never seen any 13-second Hellcats. I have a professional racing license (In Super Comp), so I know how to drag race cars properly. My personal vehicle is a Dodge Hellcat. The best time that I could muster in the quarter mile was 11.93. The problem is the vehicle weight, traction issues and the stock tires. This car is cool for doing burnouts and donuts but with 707 horsepower, I was expecting to go faster, mind you I've been racing professionally for 30 years.
6:40 I will always prefer GTR over any Dodge... but I will admit there's very skillful Dodge drivers like that 4door. Very impressive and would love to be in the front seat of that driver lol. Also Dodge has the best burnouts I can't argue on that one, those superchargers and V8 combine sounds beautiful!
GT-R stepped on the Hellcats tail! The 3.0 liter close to 4000lb car if you're a true car guy you can appreciate what there doing with small ci motors hellcats are twice the size of motor
@@kanoho2803 I don't know you guys still exists, it doesn't matter how late your reaction time is , the quarter mile time only starts when the car moves.
No dude that's not true it depends on the driver and reaction time from them. There are cases that the hellcat challenger beaten the gtr and also Demon especially. It all depends how short of the strip is which favors awd drive, the skill and response time of the driver. A 2020 gt500, 911 turbo(or even s), 720, Demon, Srt Viper, zr1 2019, all have the cabalities to beat the gtr
There’s no way in the world I compete with GT-R with any hellcat there’s only few that worth mentioning not all,you can only beat the GT-R with another GT-R
@@G20TBeen Two Years you've been showing to the world how much of an toidi you are, time to change you comment and Have some research dude, R35's are AWD's.
Yeah I was expecting the GTR to kick everyone's butt I love the hellcat and I prefer that hellcat but the gtR I'm pretty sure is a four-wheel drive awd
Shame many of the GT-R's broke going down the track. I'm not one to shy away from the right pedal in mine, but seeing these many break at the track has me second guessing if I should take it out this October
@@denisjr86 yeah I know, but from my understanding you have to pay extra for the red key it don’t automatically come with both sets… could be wrong tho was told that from the dealership
@@trock4868 Nah if that was the case it would be stupid to buy a hellcat and you'd be better off with a scat. The issue here is traction and the fact that half the people who own hellcats don't know how to drive them.
@@trock4868 and @Dennis Reyes, Hellcats are sold with two red keys and one black key. There is no extra charge, that’s just what they come with. The latest Hellcat unlocks 717hp with the red key, and 500hp with the black key.
I don't know how else to explain this when studying this video I noticed that the hellcats takeoff rather aggressively and then halfway into it they start to fizzle out like they are not even trying
@@melvinjohnson9372 he launched late still a good time thats not the point... look at the cats time he was on street tires and wasn't spinning the point I was making the point that the rest of the cats were running scat times because they can't drive they weren't hooking and couldn't launch for shit
7:12...bottom center, THE 'WHITE '72 DODGE DART. Chrysler sells the new Demons for $85 grand, the dealers list the list them as sold out but privately sells them for $200,000.00
@@jponz85 I like the gtr and hellcat & I haven’t checked the bran new gtrs but let’s say 2016 the hellcat was trapping as much or more than a gtr That’s a pretty high trap speed for a stock gtr or am I wrong?
Hate to see a Challenger lose. Not some brand loyalty thing, just like the look. Don't give a care about the modern Chargers. I didn't know Nissan made stuff like this tho. Never seen one on a drag strip and always figured they just made family cars.
Once you go plaid, all others look bad. Lmao but fr I feel your pain, a nismo gtr is so damn quick but the plaid is cheaper, faster and more usable because it has a real backseat so why even get a gtr
ITS THE ALL WHEEL DRIVE I THINK IS THE BIGGEST FACTOR, 2ND IS THE QUICKER SHIFT POINTS OF THE TRANNY, PLUS A BULLETPROOF BLOCK THATS A CHUNK OF ALUMINUM, THAT CAN TAKE CONSISTENTLY 50-60 PSI OF BOOST
The future is v6 single or dual turbo v8s do provide greater torque but the engineers have found away around that as well that's why a lot of these trucks now are v6 TT and sound as loud as a v8 and pack the same or if not more punch
That guy clearly didn’t know how to drive and if you listen to the video his tires are skidding he’s losing traction he didn’t even do a burnout racing on cold tires. These are the only good races in the video 2:48 and 5:56 both drivers came to drive that day everybody was inexperienced drivers. This race especially 5:56 I can’t tell who won it was so close look at that perfect reaction time from both drivers and neither lost traction
@@TITANa.k.a.RADIATION173 You obviously don’t understand because if you did you would know they are both neck and neck Hellcat Redeye 0-60 3.5. Nissan GTR 0-60 2.9 it’s quicker off the line because of all wheel drive and it’s top speed is 196mph. Hellcat top speed is 203mph and is rear wheel drive. The GTR with all wheel drive is quicker off the line by 0.6 seconds that’s not that significant when you are talking people that know how to drive. Also I thought you said you knew all the specs and you said “the GTR was quicker and had a higher top speed” you lied it doesn’t have a higher top speed…
@@redhunnid5142 ran 204mph in a GTR in germany, thats because gears are shorter for better acceleration, most heavy modded GTRs run 220+ on the drag strip easy
@@MichaelMitchell-eo6cb I looked closer and ALL of the MOPARS weren't Hellcats with 7000+++ HP, some had the naturally aspirated 392 and they are about 475 HP and mid 12's is correct on those, however i think a GTR with its 4WD is still faster than a Hellcat or very close either way. The Hellcat is a HEAVY vehicle
@@zxtenn I agree completely Jim. I have the 392 that’s 485hp and mid twelves is correct. Maybe a little lower with DR’s. The Nissan is a beast and traction is so great. A Hellcat had better have a good driver and obviously DR’s to run with the Nissan. Good post!
@@MichaelMitchell-eo6cb Challenger or Charger? I have been thinking of a new Scat pack Challenger manual, even if the manual is a bit slower i would rather have the stick.
Moral of the story is that it's only a decent race if the hellcat can get traction and the GTR can make it down the track without breaking. Which seems to be rare. Lol
