I am absolutely amazed that you noticed the line was wrapped around the rod tip while having a 400+kg swordfish throwing a tantrum right next to you. Respect!
Bloody hell that has got to be the most epic fishing footage I have ever seen. Heart in mouth stuff from hook up to release. Big effort from the two anglers and everyone else on board. A moment to remember for life.
Absolutely amazing!!!! Speechless Your boat, works for you so well for you. Stole the rod holder idea set up. I like the whole not leaning the rod when you are setting up. Very efficient. I'm 40 and live in California and I can say hands down best saltwater show ever. Good mix of action education and lots of good tag and releases. Keep up the good work skip.
Awesome catch! Good to see it was released too. Way better than killing it just to weigh it and get a photo. Seeing the pure excitement and joy from the crew when the fish swam away when released to fight another day is what big game fishing is all about.
I have literally been down to the boat shop today as I have been binge watching your guys videos for the last week or so after going out on the ocean for the 1st time ever fishing just the other week. I absolutely loved it. Now after watching this I just want to get out there even more. How awesome is this. Well done.
Best emotional journey of heart & soul to catch & release a monster of the deep. I can’t believe you all hung in (especially the first angler) so long. Amazing Vid.. thank you for taking us all with you 👍🏻
Wonderful beautiful fish I live in the hood but one day I will get out of this place and I will catch a beast like that this video has impact me thank you guys for sharing this video
Kudos to the guy for sticking with it for all that time. Don’t think most people have any idea how energy sapping fighting a big fish is. Prob still walking hunched over!
yea.. out of all the videos I've watched on Ultimate Fishing, this by far has to be one that hits home for me. I felt the pain and has my interest to wanting to fight one.
I just wanted to give you all props for releasing the fish . I can understand the desire to make it an official record but knowing it’s out there making babies for your kids and grandkids to experience us worth so much more . It’s my dream to catch a sword or a big marlin someday . #1 on my bucket list I have got my number 2 and 3 bucket list fish . White sturgeon (240 lbs)and a giant blue fin tuna ( 500 lbs tuna) both released
OMG! Same thing happened to us 3 months ago in Curacao, on a LP with 200lbs. We couldn’t catch it, and broke (on purpose) the line after about 10 hours! Ours was also a beast, we filmed it couple of times, but I think yours was bigger by 200lbs. These animals are monsters of the deep!! Thanks for sharing this video, and I am happy you released it....
Amazing job guys!!! Absolutly nothing but respect and admiration on an amazing fight of a life time and sharing it with us. Also for the fact that u guys tagged and releasing it instead of keeping it as a wall ornament which many people would have done just for bragging rights on a fish that's surely a world record fish, if not its surely pretty damn close to it. Thats definitely a fish we wanna keep in the ocean to keep breading more hard fighting monsters. If only you guys could have gotten some measurements of it but the video speaks for itself. Keep uo the good work gents and love you videos. Always extremely entertaining.
Simply amazing video for us and one hell of a fish for you guys . .they best video on the net that shows the true power of swords and how much goes into crewing a boat and keeping everything together
Hey bro mean vid! just wanted to say ive heard an old saying that if you put a T-shirt on insidout and back to front and completely by accident...that it means money is on your wayy in this case SWORD! love the videos mate keep em coming 🙌
Me too, I was wondering the same! Matt says something like: "Now we gotta make sure we do a clean job and get him away in good conditions." So my guess is that they get it back to the boat and sort of "revive" her until she looks fresh and sufficiently rested? Please Matt, enlighten us!
Love this shit, epic epic just fucking epic, great viewing stuff to all the crew involved..a moment in time all you lads will remeber for life.. sen bloody sational, what a fish & what a battle🤙
My only question is with swordfish being a fish of such amazing fighting ability, isn't it really beyond a 50 stand-up outfit? I mean a 17 hour fight is not only taxing on the angler, but the fish itself too. To me, this is probably more of a 130 or at least 80 chair fish?
Alex Fu The Talica 50 can put out as much drag as a Tiagra 50WLRS and 80W but are not as heavy as the Tiagras so they’re easier to fish at full drag on stand up tackle, by using 130lb they can also thumb the spool for more drag. Swords don’t take huge runs like Blue Marlin so you don’t need the capacity either.
