I love vintage Halloween decorations so much! Love your door hangers and the Pumpkin lady. I enjoy the ones even from the 50's thru 90's, I love them all so much and they have so much more details than today's decorations. I love owls, think of them as very spooky in the woods at night hooting. Spooky owls, black cats, ravens, bats, ghosts, and witches are my favorite decorations.
Since that video, I collected a few more Sunhill decorations (the Pumpkin Man, the Giant Stuff-A-Spider and the Pumpkin Twins)! And I'm still looking for more 😄. But yes, I'm with you. Old decorations were more fun and detailed. Today, I think owls are spooky! But I still think they are cute and friendly on that particular door hanger. I still love that door hanger! 🖤
@@treatortreat oh wow, that's wonderful! I'm so glad you found more of the Sunhill decorations! I agree, owls can be cute sometimes too, lol! Of course I love them best when they're in a spooky dark woods, lol.
I love this content so much. The structure and framing are AMAZING. 😍 But I do also have to stick up for the owls- as far as my knowledge on Halloween’s history goes, owls were one of the first icons associated with the holiday. Because the ancient Greeks thought that a person could transform into an owl by rubbing certain oils on their bare skin and usually, the people accused of doing so were their equivalent of witches. The strigae, I believe? I may need to reread.
Oh wow! I certainly didn't know that. Thanks for that piece of history! I actually changed my mind on that matter since then (this video is almost two years old)! I can see how they are mystical and spooky. And even more now (thanks to you)!!! 😊
The door hangers are great. And I agree it's not always about perfect condition but how something makes you feel. If it brings joy and happiness to you; totally worth it. Owls are definitely a Halloween staple. They can be found in many vintage cartoons, movies, decor and die cuts. Sometimes it's just them hooting that provides spooky atmosphere. ☺
