Here it is! I hope you guys think these looks are totally off-the-chain-wallet 😉 The inspiration comes from around 1995 - 1999 (particularly teen/young adult fashion, but let’s be real, it’s mostly inspired by 90s Delia’s catalogues!). Links to similar clothing items in the info box! Apologies for how long this video took 😅 if you watched my last vlog you’ll know why I’ve been behind on vids, but I also spent more time on editing as I like to challenge myself and try new techniques! xxx
I love how those looks are actually very authentic! Often when you're see 90s fashion recreated it's very glamourized and modernized. The outfits you put together however are very accurate and definitely something you would've seen back in the day.
This! I hate when I watch 90s lookbooks and every ensembles looks like a costume. I was born in the 80s and this is one of the most authentic representations of 90s wares I've seen on RU-vid.
You can tell she puts a lot of work into these videos with the research and clothing she chooses. She's always spot on with her recreations that it's like she's actually in the 90's , this is why I love her so much 💖💖💖
I love how authentic your outfits are🙌🏾 my favorite is probably the last outfit because I love mini dresses with the straight across neckline😍💖 I would love to make my style even more 90s/early 2000s inspired👏🏾✨
I will be making more! I have 5 more outfits to share in my next 90s lookbook :) no idea when that will be going up though, haven't started editing it yet haha :)
It'd be so cool to see more urban inspired looks from the 90s, I'm really into like the baggy sweaters, windbreakers, jeans, stuff like that! Loved this whole look book btw, fantastic quality!
I'm 36, I was a teen in the 90's and yes I wore all of these outfits, just in different colors. I remember buying that style of triangle top, it was brown suede, very boho looking. I wore it with low rise jeans and red Doc Martens. I had the exact same blue gingham dress and I am pretty sure it was from Delia's or maybe Alloy. I specifically remember wearing it once and getting chewed out by my friend for wearing it because he said it was too revealing or I was too curvy or some nonsense. Like I was "asking for it". Ugh such a jerk! I loved that dress and wore it all the time.
THANK YOU for giving a shoutout to my girl, Sabrina! She deserves more credit as a true and authentic style icon of the 90's. She served us so many looks, yet she is somehow so overlooked. 🤔 And my favorite outfit was the last outfit...soooo cute! It reminds me of a slightly edgier Dorothy from The Wizard Of Oz (another favorite childhood character) I like the contrast of sweet with a little bit of an edge! I'm totally inspired for the summer with this look!✨
I especially love the red dress look! It's just such a simple and effortless look that you can wear casually in the day or night! 😍😍 I also used to wear the cropped V halter/tube as a kid! I would have them in co-ords with mini-skirts when I was around 2-4 years old (my mum and grandma chose my clothes at the time) 💁🏻 I actually LOVE your "rewind" look books (90s, 00s, etc) because they're so nostalgic and true to the style of that time! 🙆🏻 and many other people that make those kinds of look books usually incorporate the style of today with the style back then which is kinda "cheating" imo hahaha but yeah I can tell you put a lot of time into these look books to curate the perfect outfits of that chosen theme! 👌🏼✨
I also love that your 90s looks actually look like legit 90s outfits! Not many people are this on-point with their decade fashion accuracy. You're just so, so good at it.
Omg the chunky black shoes, I had so many of them! I remember trying to play kickball in them one day and sprained my ankle! LOL I'd love to go back to the nineties. The chain wallets, the choker necklaces, i loved it.
I have to say that there's a spot in time from 90's to 20's that went wrong in fashion, idk :) But this channel is great, I think she's the only style youtuber that I watch whose videos are not all 80 percent blablabla/nonsense/personal drama-intro. Thank you for that Sophie, I'm trying your style of make up these days and I feel so cute :3
I Iove how informational this lookbook was and how you referred to the pictures from magazines!!! You have the best lookbooks I've ever seen on RU-vid ❤️
gurl those jeans were new from asos and they still sell them!! (links in the info box) they've been adding even more skater styles recently with the chains too 😆
My favorite was the all black ensemble (v-shaped crop top and long skirt). Something about it is just so sleek and refreshing? It's a look I haven't seen in ages.
I loved the black crop top and rhinestone sandals outfit! And the red dress would be perfect for a Courtney Love fan girl. Also, each time you post a video, I cannot get over how breathtakingly beautiful you are 😭
i love that this is so much more accurate than most 90's lookbooks i've seen! it's so detailed and doesn't just include mom jeans and windbreakers haha
ahh i love this! this may be my fave lookbook of yours (although im not sure bc i love all of them haha). i love how its so clear how much work & research you put in! the outfits are all so authentic & true to the trends of the 90s, this vid is v inspiring to my wardrobe rn so thank you :-)
My childhood dream was to own a portable CD player! #feels Amazing editing as always Sofie! Omg those little black hair clips really looks good on you. Loved this ~ 💕
The amount of butterfly clips I owned (and broke) in the 90s/ early 2000s was ridiculous. I love how authentic this was!! I absolutely adore the second look, I've been trying to thrift shoes like that for a long time with no luck :/
The amount of detail and effort you put into your look books always impress me. Amazing work Lucy!! Every outfit in this replicates my wardrobe today lol 90's forever am I right
I would totally wear the 2 dresses looks! I disapprove 90's style because it's hideous, but those 2 dresses are still modern-looking. But I don't know how you still look good in everything 😍 Nice video as usual, Sofie. Keep it coming!
I feel like with a lot of 90s lookbooks people try to modernize stuff too much. But your looks are so accurate! All of these outfits looked like you walked right out of 1997.
you could have totally worn many of these trends during that time, maybe you just don't remember :) I remember wearing some even when I was just a little kid haha
