I really enjoy the fact that time is moving forward in both timelines. In "2020" it was "1994" now here we are in "2023" and its "1997"... Seven more years of this sketch and we finally get to see how 90's show host guy dies.
I think with celebrity death match we were daydreaming about like two regular rich celebrities fighting and never actually considered that two of the richest men in the world would cage fight over a thing that period used to post text blocks online. Not that people wouldn't watch it, but it would be confusing
I mean, that's pretty much the exact plot of that episode of Friends when Monica's billionaire boyfriend wants to become the Ultimate Fighting Champion, so yeah, definitely.
Some people love it. They're still doing it despite it not being required and being mostly ineffective. I support it. Helps me identify who not to ask for assistance in an emergency.
Ryans are natural enemies, just like Englishmen and Scots! Or Welshman and Scots! Or Japanese and Scots! Or Scots and other Scots! Damn Scots, they ruined Scotland!
As someone who was working with chromakey at about the time period this show is set, I greatly appreciate the flat, bright lighting and hard matte edge. These are the details that raise these sketches to deeper level.
since trump became president all comics and comedy writers that have done satire have become useless since the real world has become so absurd it is some kind of satire on its own - Its like our society has evolved to a state so bizzare anything can happen and nothing makes sense anymore. - lockdowns and corona were the hight of this developement - but it didnt stop there and since this year you cant even tell anymore what is true/real and what is fake & a lie and what is Satire or Irony. And zje media is all in on it - For exapmle almost NOBODY KNOWS WHAT REALLY HAPPEND IN UKRAIN AND WHY THERE IS A WAR - yet everybody feels well informed and has an opinion about it - thats like peak bizzarr - some sheeple even think it is all cause Putin went crazy one day.. And when you mention the war they call iit Putins war and thin it started in 2022 ... and if you tell them it actually started in 2014 on Maidan they all go nuts. - so yes humanity kinda has gone mental. But that is normal when societies are in a state of collapse.
As someone who doesn't read the news much this was actually pretty educational, while also being hilarious as always. Love the consistency of mentioning the hosts 2004. death every episode 😂 Thank you Ryan for continuing to make our days better 💛
the interesting thing is since the Daily Show with Jon Stewart was when comedy because the only way the majority of people in their 20s and 30s would learn what was going on in politics..
Dude! You’re missing out. Politics is a joke at this point. Democrats are eating each other, republicans at each other’s throats while Vivek Romaswami is just like “hey, um I have a good economic plan and can prove it, also we really need to not go to war..” but he’s on the back burner. Bud light is circling the drain, Biden is a walking corpse at this point. Oh next year is going to be crazy! I’m guessing more riots and maybe a political assassination. Looking at you Kennedy... your family doesn’t have the best luck 🤷
It concerns me a little this is how you’re collecting your news. If you want someone on RU-vid who is still kind of fun, but delivers news in a short educational way, may I suggest Philip Defranco? I feel like he might be up your alley and there’s a little more info there to keep you updated!
It concerns me you waste a lot of time online. Ryan is pretty much the only thing I watch on RU-vid. Other than that, I don't like wasting too much time looking at a screen. No thanks
For some reason, this is the best news catch up Like every big thing that’s happened in the last while it’s just compressed into an episode and I love it
@@stevendemayo3631 okay true, there was one bit of newsworthy information in there. And I guess the fact that there's a big Twitter competitor now is also worth mentioning in passing at least.
just be aware that twitter valuation is at $41bil and threads got the user because it levered already millions of Instagram users in to it automatically
@@smaller_cathedrals yup. Mitch Hedberg and john mulaney and so many others have proven that it's not hard to make people laugh with just a couple sentences.
Omg yes. Seeing him at the beach nervously playing the theme song out loud had me rolling. Easily my favorite visit to Ad Space to date, and some of them have been hilarious!
It just occurred to me that “Threads” was the title of a BBC drama-documentary from 1984 about a nuclear attack on the UK that was so realistic it scared the crap out of everybody (including me) that saw it. That’s some top-notch research there Meta boys.
I was around at the time but too young to even hear of the programme until decades after the fact. Yet still it's the only thing I can think of every time I hear the name of the new app! Meta certainly shot themselves in the foot there with a certain demographic, at least.
people who dont watch Ryan's sponsored Ads are literally missing out on amazing content. Mad respect for making even the ads something i look forward to watching
Kinda shame that he puts more effort into the quality of his advertisements than companies who sponsor him put into quality of their products. Okay, can't talk shit about Sheets&Giggles, haven't heard anything negative about them, but, for example, Raycons are straight up among the worse earbuds you can get.
It also contributes to the world-building. Who knew that the closing credits music was the ad-stronaut's favorite song or that he liked singing it too? I think he should go up against ba-ba-ba guy.
From what I've heard, 99% of the registered users of Threads might only just barely be aware of its existence. Apparently everyone who has an account on instagram is pretty much automatically registered on threads as well, and you can't delete your threads account without also deleting your instagram account. It's all just putting a different mask on the same account, really.
@@MuljoStphoReally? I have 3 accounts on Instagram and hadn't heard that. I was going to download the app, but it's like 75 Megs. Now I have to go look into it... maybe throw out something on my phone so the new app will fit😂
I have never heard of "threads" until now. Ryan George is also an education channel apparently!😂Oh crap, I assumed Threads was a fashion app because of the name! Oops!🤣
You must be new to the internet. I can prove this. When I connected to the internet for the first time, I laughed out loud many times. I don't anymore. Instead of getting angry, just assume Ryan George typed this. Loser
My favorite part was "It will probably take a week or so to get to that point" about threads becoming a toxic cesspool. You are underestimating people.
To be fair, threads has been an excellent Beta program experience. It still needs more options and customization. If the Trump/Musk cults believe that this is the woke up and stay away, Threads could remain moderately sane.
We all laugh at the concept of someone reporting 30 years in the future, but what would it be like for us if we had someone reporting 30 years in the future. Honestly, I'd be a little nervous to watch. "So yeah, everyone has decided that we're going to blow up Mars." "Like, the candy bar right, not the actual planet, right?" "Nope! everyone just decided unanimously that they hated Mars all of a sudden, so now we're gonna blow it up. That'll be a thing." "Ohh ho my gosh, the future is crazy and unhinged." "I know, tell me about it. Please let me come home now." "Sorry, but that time machine is still broken, so tell us more about how they plan to blow up Mars, please."
@kamenanew9867 We had cable in the 90s, but I still missed quite a few episodes because they always aired at odd hours of the day. I remember seeing this particular episode back in '97, though, and being so confused about what the "information rectagle" he kept lifting was. Anyway, anyone excited to survive the AI uprising next year?
@@selfiegekdude your not funny and your probably a gen z insecure desperate for friends and attention tik toker born in like 2004 or after. You're still a child
What's really crazy to think about is all the kids and Z-ers who think this crap is normal. If any of you are reading this, IT'S NOT. This is the culmination of decades of maladministration and corrupt governance.
This show started in 2020 as 1995 2021 and 2022 was 1996 2023 was 1997 This means the show's timeline works semi-real time Which also means we have 3 years left of this show, and maybe that's how our favourite TV host dies tragically and very painfully
This is my favorite series that you do. I can't wait to see the next one. Please don't keep us waiting as long for it. I can't wait for this whole series to be complete because I'm sure we all have so many unanswered questions...
@@RS-ls7mm Ehh, there are some things that are genuinely better today. However, the 90's were marked by techno-optimism. Technology kept progressing, we got better gadgets all the time, cool stuff was becoming affordable, and we had this new way of meeting interesting people from all over the world. We were so naive back then, we didn't expect all of this being used to erode our hard-won rights, such as the right to privacy. We couldn't imagine this new collaborative platform called the Internet being turned into a combative platform by companies deliberately making people's lives objectively worse for profit.
This is the perfect way to bring together topics from previous episodes! Life really is stranger than fiction, the way the topics intertwined so perfectly
Why? Is your life that miserable? Btw. it's mostly just because of the Fed funds rate, all tech stocks collapsed last year, and only the largest ones recovered yet.
@@andrasbiro3007 oh I don't know might be because I don't see that asshole for the gods that some people do since he didn't invent shit, all he actually did was market what he bought for example Tesla was not invented by him. Not to mention he's a transphobic even though his son is trans so yeah lots to admire about an absolute fraud
It's been a while since we had one of these. At the rate the world is dumbing down, by 2030 Ryan will have to make only this series, 1 each day to keep up
Would you just keep cycling through from NYE 1989 to Sept 10 2001? 11 years, 8 months, 11 days on repeat. Would you try to help yourself live a better life each time? So that the first time you loop through (2nd time if you are old enought to have lived it normally) it seems like 11 years of easy living and good times. The next 4-5 loops are hard work making the 1st looper's life easy.
