Hello Friends, I managed to find some of my most wanted records! I would also like to know if you prefer Pearl Jam's Ten or Nirvana's Nevermind. Feel free to like, comment and subscribe!
these last two videos have been amazing! I'm so JELLY!! Picking between 10 and Nevermind is like picking between your children. They are my favorite albums along with Blind Melon self titled. One day I will get originals of them, ultimate GRAILS.
truenorthstyle Haha that's true! I can't decide which one I like better. Both are incredible 90s milestones. Same for Blind Melon of course. I still miss it. By the way: Your videos really inspired me to go deeper into the "Seattle Sound". I am digging all kind of late 80s/ early 90s Sub Pop releases at the moment and will be back with a little label feature soon. Thanks for watching :) Armien
Love that Pearl Jam Ten album, it really is a GRAIL!

Hi Armien, great showings! I love Garbage! I like both Garbage debut and "Version 2.0", but for myself i think "Version 2.0" is my favourite. However i've never them as grunge, so that one was new. I have an awesome liveconcert with them recorded from radio on a cassette tape somewhere. Sorry to hear about the Moby-album. However it really is a great album! I love "Natural blues"! Great video! Take care! :)
Hello Jörgen, so cool to hear that you also love Garbage. To my mind they are an awesome 90s band and not everyone sees them as one of the "big names". Oh yeah - the Moby album is fantastic indeed. Natural Blues, Porcelain, Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad, Honey..... Thanks for watching my friend :) Have a good sunday! Armien
Great video, great finds! I have most of those. Moby is still on my want list, and I never got into Pearl Jam. But the rest of those I have, and they are some of my favorites ever. I play them a lot. Thank you for the video.
90s vinyl is definitely what I'm into now. The sound of the that decade was just awesome. Every genre was great during those years. I'm curious are you a fan of my bloody valentines's "loveless"? Boy 1991 was a great year in music.
Oh yeah! I couldn't agree more. The 90s were really special indeed. I am a big fan of Bloody Valentines album loveless. Too bad that it is so expensive on vinyl. I am still missing it and I also can't understand why they didn't reissue it yet. Thanks for watching! By the way: There are a ton of great 90s albums being reissued soon. Moby - Play, Garbage, all Sonic Youth Albums on Geffen and many more. Good times for us :) Armien
well sadly i sold my albums a few years back.. very reluctantly but needs at the time and down sizing ...but i love youe enthusiasm about the music and that takes me back to yardbirds and eric the engineer and early groundhogs happy days .. keep buying cheers from uk
Hi Armien WOW, that's all i can say, you got all those grails from one guy, awesome. I loved Garbage back in the 90's, and like you they were probably up there for me, still haven't managed to pick up those first two albums on vinyl, but have picked up their now annual RSD releases. As for Shirley Manson, i know what you mean!! I never really got into Moby, but i know that record is sought after, so such a shame the vinyl wasn't in the condition described. A couple of Dinosaur Jr albums too, love their stuff, but they don't seem to get much of a mention here on the VC, unless I'm just watching the wrong videos. Oh, and Pearl Jam Ten, great album, but for me Nevermind is slightly the more complete of the two, but both are undoubted classics. Cheers Dean
Hi Dean, there will be a reissue of the Garbage debut album soon. I will also get the reissue since it is one of my all time favs. Oh yeah... Shirley Manson....mhmmmm :D I agree about Dinosaur Jr not being showed in the VC that often. Thanks for watching my friend :) All the best! Armien
Hi Armien. I'm really digging these 90s update videos. I absolutely love those Garbage albums. I only have them on CD. Both are good, but I prefer Version 2.0 a bit better. Regarding your question, I must go with Nevermind all the way. Pearl Jam was good, but I never got too much into the hype. Great video, keep them coming!
Thanks for tuning in, Will! The Garbage debut is definitely one of my all time favorites from the 90s. I still remember when I first got the CD. Have a good sunday :) Armien
I love your videos! The 90's are my favortie decade for music and your collection inspires me to keep looking for my own grails because where I live its hard to find good stuff most of the time. Keep it up!
Armien, is so cool to see you find all that 90´s records. I remember seeing your first videos about the 90´s and was a big pleasure to watch all the new additions to your 90´s collection. Answer your question, I´m not a big fan of Pearl Jam, but I have to admit that the band catch me this year, and late than never I start to listen they records. So, I choose Nirvana, Nevermind was a great record. And you Armien, if you have to choose one, what is your pick up? ahahah
Haha thanks Rui - that's great to hear! I still haven't decided which album I prefer but if my place would be burning I'd rather take a copy of Nevermind than Ten. Of course both are incredible good albums! Thanks for tuning in! I appreciate it :) Armien
Once again the Armien dude strikes again with classics. Love the new vid as always brother. The Ten Album is my FAVORITE grunge era album of all time. I think i have listened to that album over 60 times.
Haha thanks man! I can imagine that you played Ten over 60 times. It's more or less the same here. Definitely a 90s milestone! Thanks for watching - all the best! Armien
hello armien though I don't really collect 90s records what you showed was impressive seems like you picked up some really nice artists and classic lps from the 90s decade! rob
Now, that's what I call 90's grails! :)...And you sure have a lot of them on vinyl. It also shows in the beginning of your video with pure 90's classics on your display shelfs in the back. I have most of them on CD, so I don't necessarily need them on vinyl too. But you never know ;) Great stuff my friend.
Hi Carsten, I hope you are having some good holidays! Just watched a bit of the theme park video. Yes - actually it's wise to buy the 90s on CD. I also have a lot of albums from back in the days on CD. Thanks for watching :) Armien
Hello Armien, lots of great albums indeed.jealous at those hole, dinosaur jr and garbage albums.but already pre ordered the garbage reissue album.Bought both the play and 18 albums by Moby at the release date back then...especially Play goes for big money.happy to have that one. Looking forward to your next video. Cheers,Marcel
Hi Marcel, good to see you back on the video side of the VC. I am curious about the Garbage reissue. I heard that there will be a regular one and a box set. So cool to hear that you got Play and 18 on the release date back then. Thanks for watching - have a good sunday :) Armien
Some great finds! Great record after another! Hole, Moby, Dinosaur Jr, Pearl Jam, and Garbage! Man, all killer bands and albums! To answer your question in the video though, I personally prefer Ten over Nevermind. You really can't go wrong with either of them, but I'm definitely a bigger Pearl Jam fan then I am Nirvana! But, still both are great albums! Can't go wrong with either of them really!
Would love to see some more 90s stuff on youtube! Just subscribed to your channel. Will check out the first video in a few moments. Thanks for watching :) Armien
Great timing to subscribe! On Saturday I scored about 50 new 90s and early 2000s 45's from world famous record store, Jerry's Records in Pittsburgh, PA! I'll be editing the video and posting later tonight! Thanks for subbing!
Armein I have to go with Pearl Jam. I won My first Car Audio System Show. My install was out of this world. My 1990 Ford Escort looked and sounded great.I could not believe I won a competition on the first try. Also the time I won as I never entered a competition again. The CD I Played was Pearl Jam 10.
great video. The funny thing about those Pearl Jam records is that they were being sold when brand new for $7.99. But no one bought them. They bought the CDs. I had the first three and now I am left with only "Vs." as an original... and it's unopened! While it's cliche and has been played a lot and glamourized a lot, "Nevermind" is really fantastic. I give NEVERMIND a slight edge here but I think "Black" as a song is better than any song on Nevermind. I wish I could find some of these things I stupidly traded back to Amoeba Records in the 90s. I have since found an original "Dog Man Star" on vinyl, which is a top 5 90s album and got it signed even in San Francisco by the guitarist who wrote it. However, like Dog Man Star, The Cure's "Wish" was never released here on vinyl. The CD sounds so terrible and that remains my #1 90's grail. #2 might be Nitzer Ebb's "Showtime". They opened for Depeche Mode in 1990. Not knowing what to expect, I was pushed around, shoved and thrown to the ground - - and it was fantastic.
Hello Steven, haha yes - 7,99$ thats unbelievable from todays point of view. I can imagine that no one wanted the records and bought the cd versions instead. Cool to hear that you still got VS. sealed. I need to check out Dog Man Star. Luckily I found an original copy of The Cure's Wish a few years ago. Thanks for watching :) Armien
Such a great video Armien, the 90's was a great decade with some amazing music. I used to own Garbage' debut LP but that was 1 of the records I regretfully sold. I'm so glad I didn't sell everything because 90's albums are so expensive now. The only Pearl Jam original I own is Vitalogy, would love to own a copy of Ten, such a great album. I've still got all my Nirvana & Hole LP's I'm happy to say. Nevermind or Ten? I would have to go with Nevermind. I love these 90's update vids, a great big thumbs up.
Luckily there will be a reissue of the Garbage debut. I love this album so much. 90s music can be really expensive on vinyl indeed. Cool to hear that you still got all the Nirvana and Hole LPs. Thanks for watching - have a good sunday :) Armien
In the movie/documentary 'Sound City' dave grohl discusses the recording of nevermind at sound city, one of the last all analog recording studios. you should seek out an AAA pressing of that lp.
Thanks for the tip, Bob. Butch Vig is an outstanding producer and audio engineer. There is also a great documentary called "classic albums" about Nevermind. Thanks for watching :) Armien
Great albums that always take me back. I loved Nirvana and Pearl Jam when they came out, but Alice In Chains was always the best of the 90s for me. All that you showed is great though.
Oh yes I agree, Steve! Alice In Chains is another one of the best 90s bands. I only have Dirt so far but I will keep my eyes open. Specially their debut and the unplugged concert are on my list. Thanks for watching my friend! Armien
I bought pearl jam back in the 90's, wasn't a big nirvana fan. Fast forward to 2015 i picked up 180 gram reissue of Nevermind and gained a whole new respect. The sound quality is better on Nirvana.
The Garbage debut is one of my all time favorite albums. I am glad that there will be a vinyl reissue later this year. I just preordered the signed box set but the normal version looks fantastic as well. Greetings from Germany! Armien
one word - MOBY that is all.... haha Thanks for thinking of me. Sorry your copy didn't turn out too good but it's great to have it still. Take care my friend.
Hi, nice taste and collection, just wanted to ask, I am going to be in Hamburg next month and wondered if you could give me some shops for both vinyl and cd's mostly jazz and rock, thanks and keep on posting ...........
Hi Daniel, thanks for watching! Hamburg is a beautiful city! I have been there a few times but never found the time for record shopping. As far as I know there are some really good stores in the "alternative" area of the city. Unfortunately I don't know their names but I am sure that you will find them. Have a great trip and let me know if you could find something good. All the best! Armien
you want some real grails of the 90's? I have a bunch of "drag city" first pressings (still sealed) I always bought 2! Mainly Will Oldham..aka palace brothers, palace songs, palace, etc... Johnny cash covered "I see a darkness"..btw not for sale.. anyhow..so cool the records you present..But dig deep into the indie labels that kept Vinyl alive in the 90's.. "merge records"; "discord records"; "simple machines"; "thrill jockey"...just the tip of the iceberg.. peace & spin those lp's...great channel
Hi John, thanks for tuning in! There will be a reissue of the Garbage debut soon. As far as I know there will be a regular reissue and a box set. Armien
Armien absolutely great 90's finds Garbage and a very stunning Pearl Jam Ten still on my want list forever I still refuse to buy the reissue cause I want that original badly . Moby great stuff I have that original sorry to hear how it plays its very hard mine is a Vg+ cover a little worn out play great . Tough choice I pick Pearl Jam Ten saw them live and they did some of Ten still blows me away Nevermind is spectacular too
Thank you, Lovell! The 90s definitely brought up some classic albums! I just saw the picture of your moby copy! Beautiful! Thanks for watching :) Armien
That Garbage album was a solid debut. I think it borrowed heavily from Curve. Are you familiar with them? A couple of their albums are being reissued this year. My favorite though might be the 'Pubic Fruit' "album" which is really a compilation of 3 of their EPs. The EPs are available on vinyl but aren't cheap. Curve is more of a shoegazey version of Garbage. Also, do you know Catherine Wheel, Swervedriver, or Adorable? I think you'd like them. Dinosaur Jr and Swervedriver have a similar vibe at times.
I like 10 better because I like PJ better but I think the grunge albums have less stylistic in common then most people think. I feel like Nirvana was more punk/post-punk influenced, PJ was more Classic Rock influenced. The Melvins, PJ, Nirvana, Soundgarden, and Alice in Chains all just happen to be from the same area and were making killer music that was bound to break through to the mainstream.
+AudiophileLaws Great thank you, Great find. I am looking for original copies of Moby-Play and Pearl jam-Ten for my collection. But i heard there is a reissue of play coming soon from Mute records in the Uk. Cheers, Jon
That's a lot of garbage... as shame about the FB group trade - I have known several people who have been burned by other VC members, so you have to be careful.
I heard that there will be a regular reissue which will sell for 29 Euro in Europe but there will also be a little box set. Can't wait to get more news about the release. Let me know what you will receive. Thanks! Armien
