This is how anyone can get at least 25 POLICE CARS to one place in a hurry. Meanwhile...it takes 1/2 hour or more to get ONE car to another emergency. WHAT A COUNTRY?

Cops heard the guy robbed a donut shop but discovered they only had less than $100 in cash. The guy took all the donuts instead. The police response was predictable. Like bees attacking a bear that stole honey.
Anyone who lives in Los Angeles, Orange or Riverside counties knows that the 91 is one of the most hellacious freeways during rush hour. No matter how many lanes wide, it remains a parking lot in the morning and the evening. Have to imagine a lot of angry drivers waiting. Police should have let them at the perp. Situation would have been over in a few minutes.
This is ridiculous!!! If this was Wisconsin and he didnt surrender they would of rush that car, broke them windows and drugged him out!!!! No way these poor ppl stuck in cars, seniors, babies etc all damn day and If he would of started shooting they just would of been forced to take him out!!! PERIOD! This is ridiculous at all cost!!! Somebody ommented that the chase went through a few cities where in each one cops took up the pursuit. They follow it to the end. The LA area is not quite like Wisconsin in that respect.
Why doesn't someone with someone with authority order all unnecessary Officers to go back to work and patrol the city? Seems to me that the two armored vehicles should stay and four squad cars, all others get back to work.

A "professional" group of police would have used at least 600 cars to monitor this squashed sedan. These morons only used 48, and many of those with only one or two occupants.
So he was an armed stalker and was going to go to jail, so what, no reason to die. He could have done his time, gotten out and become a state senator from CA, or maybe the Governor, his horizon in that state was limitless.

why do we need so many cops for one person? not wasting resources at all. 2 swat teams and cops holding traffic is all that is needed but there are 20 cops just standing around when they could be answering other calls
If you watch other videos with helicopter footage you will see there were THREE armored SWAT vehicle with a half-dozen guys in body armor. And I counted at least 22 other Police and CHP vehicles. This was absurd and incredibly wasteful. One other poster said the delays affected people for 5 hours.

I'd be so pissed if I was stuck in traffic behind this after completing a long Friday full of work just wanting to enjoy my weekend. Florida cops would not sit there for 2 hours whatsoever it'd be done in 2 minutes.

What’s crazy is if they knew he was suicidal why let him stay in the car with a loaded weapon? Was his life not worth enough to them to save from himself in those moments?

Thank you for your service. We need some of these policing expertise in the BayArea, sad to say this but Oakland, Easy Bay, South bay and SF are becoming dangerous. With our tourist season coming we have out of town victims and business are closing.
