The thing is it looked like it broke because it bent back in the middle because the support was on the sides. A person would not hold a shield you should do another test with support in the middle not the sides.

dude that was kind of dumb because the way you had the bricks one side the force was not evenly distributed due to the all stress went to the sides without the bricks so you need it on and evenly flat surface. that is why it split even in the center following along the line without the bricks.

If there was a real person behind the shield they would have no chance.... if the hammer dropped and cracked the shield then the hammer would slip through the crack and hit the person with a very similar force. If you done the same thing with a indestructible shield then the person would still probably die.the weight that person should have to withstand would need to be incredible if they didn't want to get pounded with a shield made out of adimantium... the least the person would walk out with damage wise would be a cracked scull which still isn't very good.
