910023 Venetian Houses - Bricklink Designer Program RARE LEGO Review! 

Hey there, thanks for tuning into DuckBricks! I'm Chris, and today I'm going to (once again) risk life and limb by navigating these stairs backwards!

This man has the gut to walk backwards in the stairs and narrow hallways of the most lego filled room i've ever seen

$290 for 3460 pieces is a pretty good deal. I do think the buildings somewhat suffer from repetition that could have been fixed even as an AFOL MOC design. Things like adding window flower pots or differentiating the ground level windows with more Islamic/Gothic/Venation style arches could go a long way. A bigger change would be to add small window/door balconies for half of the top portion of the large building. (look at images of buildings in Venice for some examples) A bit of splashy colored details throughout the build could also help: outside tables and chairs or some building signs perhaps. Buildings in Venice do sometimes incorporate different bolder colors, especially for window frames, railing details etc. Other than that, yes this set is very beautiful, very well done and totally worth the $290 IMO.

How do you walk backwards down your stairs? I would probably fall if I tried to do so.

A Venetian setting with a water canal..but no singing gondolier in his boat..noo, instead we get a fisherman, even though nobody goes fishing in the canals inside Venice, that happens in the city's lagoon. Ok. Nincompoops!

Your intro explains a lot why these Bricklink special sets are so bad to get and hidden away deep into the site!

This set hasn't appreciated in value much. About 50% as of jan 2024. I'm a bit surprised you can get new ones for $450. I still have mine sealed and am trying to decide what to do with it
