You also explain how to describe the math. For example, I recently purchased a 24" 6 mm 52 gram silver curb (six sided) chain for $150. Great deal when looking at other places charging well over $200 but when you do the math and take the $150 I paid divided by 52 grams I'm paying $2.8846 a gram. Now take $2.8846 and multiply it by 52 grams and you get $149.99 which is what I paid for the chain. Now to elaborate a Troy Ounce of silver is 31.1 grams of silver. Not the 28 grams in weed. If you take the 52 grams and divide it by 31.1 you get 1.6720 ounces of pure silver in the chain. Now what's the bad part is if you take the $150 I paid and divide it by 1.6720 ounces of pure silver you see that I paid $89.7129 per ounce of silver. The price of silver as of today on Feb 13, 2020 is $17.73 an ounce. Take the 1.6720 ounces and multiply it by $17.73 per ounce of pure silver and you see that there is only $29.6445 worth of pure silver in the $150 chain I just paid for. Meaning I paid $120 over the value of the silver to have it made into a chain!
