… you could also just drill and tap through that WUR plug you are hammering on and insert about a 5mm long fine treaded 1/8 inch bolt with a couple of nuts to adjust and lock the threaded bolt into place … that way you can adjust the WUR cold and hot cycles by just turning in or out the installed tapped threaded bolt … no more hammering and precise control over the internal depth of the plunger which in turn acts upon the tension of the heat sink spring inside the WUR ….

JIM! please show us the setup, so you have a fuel pump hooked up to the fuel dis. then to the warm up reg? i have a VW gti want to take apart the warmup reg and clean it but i am worried about how to set the pressure. YOU are awesome for doing this video.

How does the WUR affect rpms? My 1979 928 is hard to put into reverse or 1st gear if the car is at 1,000 rpms. After a while the rpms drop to around 700 rpms which at that point most times i can put it into 1st or reverse without the gears grinding. Any help much appreciated as the reverse/1st gear grinding issue is common in early 928s but i have not found a clear/direct answer.

Hello my friend, one question, about how it works, when the engine/coolant temperature increase the fuel pressure increase but what cís part control the fuel mixture, lean or rich?

After you shut off the pump is it supposed to hold pressure for a few minutes? Mine doesn't but I remember reading somewhere that it should hold pressure for a few minutes. Mine will instantly drop to 15 psi after shutting off the pump and then hold. Chances are I have a problem with the fuel distributer or check valve. It only vapor locked once.

I know the fuel accumulator on my Merc would be bad if that problem occurred.

Hello, can you please tell me what is going on this fuel pressure on my SLC 450 1978 ? I've measured the pressure from warm up regulator to higher part of fuel distributor it has 5.2 bar about 75 psi , and measured from warm up regulator to lower part of fuel distributor it has almost the same pressure. As i know from your vido pressure must be about 32 psi on cold engine. So the question is , the problem is in warm up regulator or something else? Because I have some kind of pressure regulator after warm up regulator in the same fuel line which goes on higher part of fuel distributor. Please HELP ME))!!!

Hi John. Problem with a 84 107 sl. starts great , soon as you try depress the accelerator it bogs and dies... soon as its warm its great. Changed the fuel filter and warm up reg and brassy switch...still the same... had a w123 merc with the same issue exactly, never cured it.

Ever have old gas ? Varnish can clog the warm-up reg input port filter screen. Take a look there. Even if you changed the reg, it can clog up right away if there is varnish in the system. Bogging down sounds like mixture is lean, control pressure too high. Hook up a gauge and record control pressure every 10 seconds to make a graph. Compare to specs. Injectors will clog over time unless you drive every day. Get a spare set and send the originals out to the ultrasonic cleaners. Check your accumulator for leaks. High failure rate part. Use Techron or some other cleaner regularly. Also check for vacuum leaks. Use a cigar to blow smoke into a vacuum port. Cheap smoke machine.
