I love that they bring out this trio at the end, paying respect and honor to George Abbott, and playing on the ties between the original and the revival. It's a fine balance to make, but for me the Tonys are always better when they put appropriate emphasis on theater, Broadway, tradition, legends, and history, together with the new, bright shining, exciting stuff, and acknowledging the throughline of all that.
1994 was my first year in NY, and my first ticket was Damn yankees. The week after I've seen 6 shows, included all these wonderful revivals. So, thank you for the video.
One has to see and listen to that song IN CONTEXT. Otherwise it's a real "nails on the blackboard" song like CLIMB EVERY MOUNTAIN and THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM if you get my drift.

Yes she played Gloria in this revival! I saw her as Velma in Chicago in the late 90s and she was mind blowingly good. Such an underrated stage actress.
