Not blaming Kunal or the entire team of KMKH (huge fan of you guys), but please do your research before coming to a new place. Aminia is undoubtedly legendary and I understand this branch in New Market is the oldest surviving branch among its 9-10 branches in the city, but at the same time it is undoubtedly the worst branch of Aminia. I don't know how much you liked the food (particularly the biryani), but I can guarantee you that most of its other branches serve brilliant biryani (far better than the one you had). Next time you visit Kolkata and wanna try Aminia, do go to their better branches like Golpark, Chinar Park, Behala or Shyam Bazar. And also just to let you guys know, the best biryani places in Kolkata (serving authentic Kolkata style biryani) apart from Aminia are - India Restaurant in Khidirpur, Arsalan (multiple branches, best ones are the Park Circus and Hatibagan branch), Zam Zam (Park Circus), and the forever iconic, and my all-time favourite Royal Indian Hotel in Bara Bazar.
Ahhuuu... You are the true Kolkata Biryani lover it seems, I second you without having any doubt. To that contradictory, best Biryani(Kolkata style) among all types available across India.

Kunal, this is by far the best season of KKH! Kolkata is quasi-Mumbai - Great Local Food, Mughlai Food and Indo-Chinese, and swagalicious street food! 😬
I am shocked how outdated some of these food bloggers are with their research. I seriously had better expectations from Mr. V and his research team. Aminia was the restaurant of choice for my parents when they were young. Anyone who has an iota of acquaintance with the city's culinary scene won't eat at Aminia given the availability of numerous superior options. Very disappointed.
Kunal, as a well wisher, please take care of your BP on a regular basis. The amount of food you take on each blog, you need to be careful about your health. I would like your program to continue indefinitely.

There are quite a few types of Biryani in the Indian subcontinent say Lucknavi, Hyderabadi, Kolkata, Sindhi, Dhakai, Thalassery etc. but not even one has a non muslim origin. This fact supports my claim. Thank you.
Very Nice Content..But don't know why People are rating that Restaurant as Worst.But i honestly can say whatever restaurants Kunal Sir has visited in Mumbai are definitely one of the best 🎉 While Eating that Chaap I felt like sitting next to him and eating it...
Aminia Biryani is very light but if you want a heavy Biryani with a bucket load of flavors and the best damn piece of juiciest meat in Bengal then I would suggest you try Dada Boudi style Biryani. Dada Boudi Biryani is much better than Aminia or Asalan any day.
Aminiya original restaurant, as the owner says, was in Zakaria Street, just opposite to the main entrance of the Nakhoda Majid; it has closed down about 5/6 years back. It was rustic and served beef alongwith mutton and chicken but the taste and flavour was far superior to the New Market outlet, consistently. Have been to the New Market outlet from my childhood and discovered the Zakaria St one in my college days. All these places hold the great legacy of Calcutta in bits and pieces.
Aminia Restaurant, New Market has been my favourite since 1980s. It's my personal favourite. Many wonderful memories of going there with my family especially with my Mother during her New Market shopping trips. Thank you Kunal for visiting amongst the oldest and most authentic Aminia Restaurants in Calcutta...err.. Kolkata🎉❤
When you said each Biryani has its own charm I can relate as a Kolkata guy I love and appreciate how delicious and unique each biryani are from different states... I personally love Kolkata/Lucknow style more ... But I love the others as well .. People should stop comparing and should just enjoy and appreciate how unique the Biryanis are from every corner of India
One yhing though... For us non-resident bongs.. any biryiani Kolkata is good😅.. the worst biryani in Kolkata is miles better than the best biryani anywhere else

There are tons of authentic bengali food much better than Biriyani. Mutton aloo jhol, prawan malai curry, sorshe ilish, chana bora er jhol, different types of posto items, different types of local fish kalias/curries. It's winter time, try seasonal makha makha cabbage , cauliflower.

Aminia is ghatiya. Their quality has fallen off like anything. Those coming to Kolkata PLEASE BEWARE. Arsalan, India Restaurant, Dada Boudi... much much better options.
Super episode with memories. Visited kolkata in May this year and had biriyani etc from this iconic place all the way from South India. This episode tempts us to visit the place once again.
Bad choice of restaurant if you want to get the authentic taste of kolkata biriyani then you should try dada baudi biriyani at barrackpore.... Aminia pehle to bahut hi achha tha par ab ye biriyani jo hai iska bilkul ghatiya ho gaya hai.
I belong to LUCKNOW so I am aware of Mughlai dishes therefore in AWADHI DISHES & specially BIRYANI there is no place for potato, I WILL say you try BIRYANI in Royal which is class in itself & the owner they are also from LUCKNOW. So try & feel the difference you will not find ALOO in their BIRYANI.
Aminia is one of my all time favourite restaurant for Mughlai dishes. Especially the mutton pasinda & mutton biryani are heavenly. I have visited this restaurant innumerable times.
Sir, good you enjoyed a lot in the city of joy. It's laden with good food be it spicy, sweet, sour Or flavorful. Mughlai Food, Bengali food or European food, you will get all there. It's a food lover's paradise.
Very disappointed with Aminia. Very mediocre food And also with the Khaane me kya hai channel. This is the 2nd restaurant I visited based on Kunal's recommendation and was so disappointed. You really need to research proper. And if the food is not the best, just say that clearly. Expecting honest reviews, not advertising.
Well yesterday went to aminia after watching your video. Was highly disappointed, the dish I wanted was not there and waiters didn't seem responsive. Room for improvement. Didn't get the feel I wanted. May be next time. Good luck Aminia .
Sorry to say but they r the worst aminia branch for biriyani... For legendary biriyani feature arsalan and in north kolkata feature DADABOUDI i think its 10000000 times better than this worst resturant. Even their other branches are 10000 times better than this.....
Food ho , any kind of food ya chhat , bhai india no 1 is from UP only , lucknow , allahabad , varanasi , kanpur den for super mughlai food and biryani. Kolkata mein bhi UP walon ne bhi 100 saal se jamaya hua hai. Baki gaon chhap mein bihari litti chokha bhi mil jaata hai jo sirf bihari khaate hain
I used to visit Aminia with my father .... Aminia special is really special...I love pasinda shik kabab of Aminia...the pudding and firni also are fantastic....thanks for the excellent blog❤

You are definitely at the wrong place, they serve worst biriyani of kolkata. Their all other dishes are also below the mark except some kebabs. Please visit better places in kolkata you will have a better taste and experience.
Aminia new market is one of the worst place to have biryani and kababs in kolkata but mr kunal is pretending like this is the best of kolkata. Strange indeed...
Best biryani at present in Arsalan it's worth a try. But if you talk about biryani even very ordinary hotels will give you tasteful biryani dishes reason the preparation of Kolkata biryani is very different from any other metropolitan cities in India not to miss the potatoes taste in biryani I've seen people from all all other places praising the taste of potatoes.
I hope you/team members didn't end up with a stomach infection. That branch serves the worst kind there is. I just hope your other videos are better researched.

Aminia Restaurant, New Market branch is my personal favourite since 1980s. Have fond many memories of lavish meals there with my family especially my Mother during her shopping trips to New Market. In fact a treat at Aminia there used to be my enticement to accompany her for the shopping trips. Thanks a ton Kunal for featuring the one & only Aminia, New Market, Calcutta...err... Kolkata..❤
I agree with you Hrichik. I am an old Calcuttan who had never tasted anything from Aminia until today. Thanks to you Kunal Vijayakar, it was the worst choice of restaurant. The mutton Rezala and the Mutton masala looked good. But that was it. They were singularly devoid of any flavour whatsoever. The Biryani was at least flavourful but the meat was tough and fibrous. In a nutshell, Aminia was a mistake and I don't see myself coming back to it in a hurry! Hope the folks in Aminia read the comments and take heed. All the best and a Very Happy New to you all.
