This is how America is. The crap you see on TV and in newspapers is nothing more than attempts to gain ratings and scare the population into total government control.
Sadly, voluntary efforts like this are uncommon. They would be more common if we weren't paying 30% of our income to our government to be sent overseas or to billionaires in the Military Industrial complex.
I'm 70, and our heat and air went out completely about seven years ago and was out about three years. No one helped us. We just sat there and took it. We couldn't afford to fix or repair the system. We were at the point where we had to quit taking all our prescriptions. No help there either.
Certainly a heart warming story. There are millions of vulnerable young and old silently awaiting rescue in America in need of health care, food, shelter, clean water and kindness.
Or just checking in on them to see how they are, and to let them know someone cares about them. Many don't need a hand-out so much as they need encouragement.
And I have had to endure much higher temperatures without air conditioning and got zero help. Even with air, it's close to 100 upstairs right now at nearly 7:30 PM, mainly because we still can't get a new unit for the upstairs. We probably couldn't afford the electricity for it anyway.
To the two Police Officers, you went 'Above and Beyond'. With all the bad press given to your Police Force in general, you two have made great inroads to even the balance. Respect, UK Veteran.
As a veteran, this warms my heart...there needs to be better services for the elderly...we all going to be old and maybe even alone one day and the simple chores of life get harder and harder as you get older...our body just wears out and just a little bit of help would make the world of difference for our elderly:)

I used to love summer until we lost the AC in Las Vegas for 3 days. I was only in my mid-40s, but I got real sick from it, and I've never been able to tolerate the heat the same way since.
This is the America I grew up in back in the 1950's. We had NO air conditioning but we were all Americans and cared for each other. This is wonderful to see and God bless this WW ll veteran! ❤🇺🇸
What a truly lovely story! So many people coming to his aid like that, is just wonderful! I reckon that each and every police officer should endeavour to do just ONE good deed each and every week to help those in need. Then they’d feel the joy that givers feel, and maybe it could become a once every day event! Just imagine the joy for the recipients. Not every person lives on easy street!❤
Thank you Officers 😁😁 for showing the caring side of Police work. You are the true HEROes of America. By doing this for Julius you were able to get others to step up and assist those that are truly in need of help.

One simple act of kindness turned into a spectacular display of more kindness and the man had his house fixed up so he can live comfortably. Awesome job officers
Now thats way above and beyond a police officers duty.... How very compassionate these officers were realizing what its like with sweltering heat and a broken a/c unit....and the fact this poor man was 95 yrs young and a veteran!!!! Thank You Officers for your kindness and empathy for someone in need....❤🥰❤
