I’ll never understand how Trevor Hoffman, the second best closer of all time, never gets a 99, but then players who aren’t even close to his level get 99s for nothing.

Depends how you look at it. Billy Wagner is the second best closer in my opinion, if you compare prime stats. Hoffman did have longer longevity though

I bought the deluxe version of the game which accounts for the only extra stubs I’ve purchased. From grinding the game I have completed the AL collection and have 4 99’s in my team w/o spending money on stubs - game may be grind-to-win but that’s wayyyy better than pay to win

I actually like how this Babe Ruth is more balanced compared to past incarnations in MLB The Show. Perfectly reflects his MVP season in 1923: he hit only 41 home runs (which is still great, but not by Ruth’s standards), but had the most complete season of his career. He hit .393, set the single season walks record (until Barry Bonds broke it), set a new career high in stolen bases, and had the best defensive season of his career. Ruth did everything that season, so I like how they made this card as well balanced as it is, because it perfectly reflects the kind of season he had.

I got Mantle NMS. It really helped that I pulled Trout but if you just grind the game you’ll get the card and that’s for most of the cards. Of course it helps to pay but you can have a good team without spending money
