They should sell it as is if they don't want to fix it its too nice to waste because of something like that. That would be ideal for someone who wants to buy one and build it anyways. Forged rods and pistons with ported heads and cams with a ported short runner intake and throw a centri on it with all the boost. Would be so sick. Or sell the engine to someone who wants one for a build and sell the roller would be great for someone wanting to do a coyote swap new edge this is an ideal starting point. So sad.
Very sad… I can’t wait to rebuild mine when if it ever starts to go back 🙏🏿 but I won’t sell her she’ll go to my son or daughter at 300,000 miles for a first car. Thank you for this information. Also, it’s crazy cuz they won’t even let you buy the whole car when you ask sometimes 😢

Excuse me if you already mentioned it but the headlights are of the 2001-04 type.The originals would have been clear with chrome.I had a white ‘99 with charcoal interior and black convertible top.
Idk why they parted it out over a rodknock? It would be easier to just buy another engine! 😂 Then watch these go up in value and people will start wishing they’d kept them on the road if the body was in good shape. 😂
When its not wrecked or rusted its a shame to se them parted out like that. I'd love to get a set of ambers for my Sonic Blue Cobra though but the price point of them is so steep now. Unfortunately they are not likely to drop in price. There was some guy in the Mustang groups on FB incorrectly spreading rumors that LMR was going to be re producing the ambers soon. I asked them in one of their youtube videos and they confirmed to me that they were in fact not re producing ambers. This guy kept spreading these rumors so I asked him to provide the proof that he knew they were. He said they told him through email that they were being made. I asked him for a screen shot of the email and the only thing it said was at some point they would like to be able to remake them which is a far stretch from ....yes we are remaking them. It's something to do with the licensing through Ford for why they have not been able to re produce them.
I don’t see the hype at all, I think people just want them because they can’t have them or they are hard to get.. Definitely not worth cutting your harnesses and spending the money..
@@NewEdgeDesigns Not wanting to spend the money on just plastic tail lights is why I haven’t done it. I do think they look really good on a Sonic blue car but not so much on torch red which is why I didn’t get them previously with my other one
@@Lethal_Venom yeah they definitely look better on sonic blue, I had a chance to get an 01 cobra a couple years back that had rod knock and the kid had no idea what he had, but I didn’t have the money to buy it and get it home that day.. I went back and it was gone.. I had him at $350 for the whole car, he needed the money to go the casino 🤣🤣🤣
I stoped using 5 W 20 w years ago in my 01 cobra an the other day I was shopping for oil for my next oil change an I almost.bought 10 w 40 w but still bought 5w 30 w Castrol full synthetic high milage an bar none Castrol oil none better I'm proof any way get this when I bought my 01 cobra 15 years I used 20 /50 yal an only changes 5 years ago hell my 01 cobras motor is so quiet that you gota rev it to make sure it's running yal a 122000 on it but the car looks just like it came off the showroom floor an of course the paint on the motor an motor compartment an yal you all guessed its like the motor was just put in new by ford oh an yes what's a cobra without the undercarrage not looking great like the rest of the car the undercarrage you all guessed it again it's done to an just so you all know this cobra is a big pain in the ass I haven't drove it more then 200 miles in 3 year yal I don't want it no more it's to old it takes to much money to keep it going yal don't want it no more an got a stack of repair orders 2 inches thick from my ford dealer I'm done even thoe you can show this car it's not worth the trouble it's a mineral gray convertable cobra an I mean this car gets looks. but I'm so e with it.
Can I run 5w30 instead of 5w20 oil in my 2001 Cobra 🐍…. I have always ran 5w20 but not I’m worried I’ve been running the wrong oil and I don’t want to hurt my motor.
5w30 is fine. 30 is a bit thicker is all. You likely won’t even notice a mpg difference. During the winter months I would recommend an extra 15-30 seconds for warmup. If you are up North in a colder state then maybe I would stick with the 20 but I believe 30 is probably fine regardless. I believe running a full synthetic is most important with these 4 valve motors. Mobil 1 or even Amsoil if you can afford it.
