This is the most helpful video! HELP !!!! Can someone point me in the right direction in resolving my 98 4Runner issue? When I engage 4H it goes in silent but when it goes back to 2H (disengage) the is a loud bang (like a sled hammer bang). The green 4WD turns on after pressing the button turns off after pressing the button to disengage but no blinking. The is a delay for about 30 second to disengage as I drive down the road below 25 miles. My other 4Runner does a loud click only. I don't know the history on the car but I have changed all the oil already.
Hey, thanks a ton for the video. I had a 7mm ball detent come out after changing the transfer case fluid. Not sure how long it was out of place for. Nothing seems to have changed which confuses me. Do you know where this would go? I have a 98 limited, no e locker. I don't think it's a position switch detent because functionality hasn't changed. Maybe just an additional spring loaded detent to help shift rod stay put? I have no idea. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Hey Michael. Can you let me know what is the shift pattern of this transfer case (it's on the shifter knob). Is it J shift? Also this timing that you explain here in this video - did you had any trouble assembling it back to the transfer case, with the big gear into this position? Did you get it from the first try or did you had to try it a couple of times? Let me know, Thanks Pavel
You show it in 2 different positions before and after you pull it out and reinsert the gear. Which is it? And how does this work because the outer contact ring doesn't even line up with the contact spring on the cover in this position.
what part number is that actuator? can't seem to find it online, when I search for the 99 limited its not giving me this actuator with square grey plug
