Yeah, I get what she's saying about the focus on race *however,* since we all know how overt inequality which exists in this country is what it was founded upon, until *THAT* issue is dealt with, these statements won't disappear. As far as Ms. Owens is concerned I've often found her statements more than hypocritical. For example, her suing her school for R against her but then years later sporting a WLM t-shirt. If she didn't want that to be a focus, there would be no need to have worn it in the first place.

I’m old enough to remember when the term “I don’t see color “ or “I’m colorblind “ became popular in the late 80’s. I don’t recall saying it myself, but remember that, at the time, it was intended to imply that “I judge a person based on their character and what’s on the inside not skin color “.

I love Candace Owen and i saw that interview and her response was spot on!!! She does not look at the skin but the actions of people bottomline and that is how it should be. My grandfather was black, my grandmother Indian no one looks at me like I am black or Indian because I got my mommas skin tone, while my brothers a sisters got the darker traits. But it does not change my dna or my ancestry, but my actions and reputation comes from my behavior and not from my dna.

I will never say that I don’t see color because I do I see how beautiful my best friends brown skin is when the light hits it. We were so much more functional in the way we dealt with racism Back in the late eighties and early nineties before all of this politically correct BS started to take hold. I remember back in college when we had a “diverse” (lol) club of dudes who would hang out and party together regularly, and we would exchange racist jokes with each other. In hindsight, it was a healthy way of venting, sharing and trusting each other with all of the BS racial stereotypes that we’ve all been exposed to. We didn’t fight,and we all laughed at ourselves over it, but then we were compelled through PC to become hyper sensitive and rigid about it. “Groove is in the heart baby”🎶

I've always said, If you have a problem with Race, then you have a problem with The Creator. And He loved All of His Creation. My daughter was totally Blind since birth. And some of her best teachers & nurses were of Color. I lost her last year due to an illness. She almost made it to her 44th birthday. Crystal didn't see Color, and loved All People. She loved All music, no matter who sang the song. I wish the world could see each other as a Blind person does. What a wonderful place it would be.

Michelle I agree with you. I personally grew up that doesn't matter what someones color is. I had friends who were different skin color. But they were my friends. I continued to teach my children the same way I grew up. It's sad there has to be racism. In my eyes we all bleed red. I hope my children teach their children what I grew up. Love you too Michelle.
