You sir, are one of the leaders in the current world of horsepower. You are proving to millions of people that you can take a dirt cheap truck engine, slap a turbo on it, and make 900+RWHP on 90% stock parts. You are a wonderful man and if I ever meet you I'm gonna buy you a 30 pack and take some videos of the truck!
@@kodogtwh standalone harnesses right now are about 250-300 dollars new wires lmao. Hp tuners if you want to do your own tuning and datalog. Everyone starts somewhere.
Just needed to get the fuel supply up to the task i mean aside from the pumps that stuff was designed for less than 400 hp so like 2.5 times that is a bit much
David Davis Then there is only one solution, immigrat to New Zealand and bring a whole lot of LS engines with you. Sure you all would be shocked at the prices over here...
Really amazed at the stoutness of these stock LS engines. Ever see someone try to pass 500whp in a stock Modular 2V and you end up with engine confetti everywhere.
rompn4x I've done it several times. problem is a lot of tards building them soo... anyways a good tune avoid knock and they hold up pretty good. plus super cheap and easy too build. I've made 550 of stock bottom end for a long time. I wish they had slightly strong rods from the factory though that's what I usually break.
So close man my book you did it lot of dyno's you be over 1000whp. Hell on 1320 they would of said you made 1600whp haha. I'M ready to see what the stock 4.8 does. you the man
Race is on Matt, we were planning on taking a stock 5.3 76mm to the dyno and see if we can boost it till she blows with our Mercedes build. Awesome to watch you work man, keep it up. You were our inspiration for our build. Cheers
Matt you are fucking awesome ! this is unbelievable 992 with 90% stock parts . I'm pissing my pants ! love your attitude . I'm looking forward to what's next ! I want to buy you a beer ! hahahahaha
my 4.8 is making 500 naturally aspirated. 700 shouldn't be too hard with that big ass turbo. maybe not with stock internals, I'm not too confident in the strength of the original pistons. I know from experience the head gasket would need to be replaced. I don't think anything else would have any trouble. the 4.8 is just a destroked 5.3 so it's happy to rev. hot rod magazine made like 1200 in a stock 4.8 once that survived 60 dyno pulls so I wouldn't be surprised if it does survive 700. don't know what kind of mileage was on that 4.8 though.
700hp is easy with a 4.8 my best friend has a stock bottom end 4.8 with the stock rings gapped a ljms cam, stock truck intake and rails and some cheap 80 pound injectors, mildly ported and decked 799 heads and a really nice turbo kit with air to water intercooler and runs on c16 he is still in the testing phase so he has the on3 78mm turbo (he has a precision 78mm that's going on eventually) and a 50 or 75 shot on it and it's made 740 somthin thru a powerglide without the spray and revs it to 7200rpm the motor is in a 2600- 2700 pound chevy vega wagon on 30×14 slicks I think his best so far in the 1/8 is 5.40 something boost only and it sounds evil!!I'm pretty sure he has more money in his transmission and converter than the what it cost to put the motor and and hot and cold side together lol and I kno he has some dough in that pte turbo. but Damn his motor screams, he is the reason I'm in the process of goin turbo. Don't sleep on 4.8's I'm sure when it's all said and done his car wil run 4.90's. plus mustang faries can't complain about you having a bigger motor when you beat there ass with a 4.8
Fucking insane!! Call it the 1k Coloradical. Please throw the 4.8 in and see what it pops at. A replication of Hot Rod mags big bang theory would be kickass!! Great job man. Keep um comin.
Super super super excited to see what that stock 4.8 can do I have been wanting to put together the turbo combo on a 100% complete disposable motor... congratulations on the 992 Matt! Absolutely incredible and thank you for everything you do.
I had a race car with 130 hp and a rod decided to exit out the block during a race. That is no comparison to what you have accomplished but I am impressed. Keep the awesome videos coming.
Did you use the standard crank , pistons and rods? At that kinda power levels I would be leaning towards a fully forged rotating assembly. I am planning to build a 1500hp + SBC as I'm tired of everybody saying LS this and that, they do actually have SOME weaknesses, the block says it is good for 2000 so lets see where I can push it.
I would love to see a stock 4.8, while keeping EVERYTHING else stock. That would be a pretty sweet little truck. I have a 2005 Z71 4WD with the 3.5 and it's underpowered with mediocre MPG.
Matt do that stock 4.8 that would be cool as shit to see with that turbo setup I got a 6.0 block and a mint gen4 4.8 crank and rods I always wanted to try together and see what it would do have you personally seen it done or is it a waste of time fuck it I will do it anyways
Could one do a "reverse compression test"? Instead of turning the motor over and having the piston make the compression could you force compressed air in and see how much it can hold?
What are you running that reads the % of ethanol and does it tune on the fly?? Im tired of running my car on e85 all the time.. its a 2v 4.6 with single 67mm tuned with an sct..
Those borg warners aren't that expensive either, though. This setup is hilarious, 900rwhp (reliableish) and he can pop both an engine and turbo and replace both for
dream killer Rd 😊 fuck that. Matt, you're kicking ass. I too wanna see that completely stock 4.8 with that setup, that does sound a whole lot of interesting, maybe with 30psi?
up to 2:44 minutes in motor sounded real smooth couple cold air backfires later and engine sounded bad. I remember if deaccellerating while under deaccellerating load with short exhaust pipe were known for burning valves wonder if this also could cause a dora detonation when throttle closed fuel cut back because tps is closed and now full lean loaded with cold air getting in motor through exhaust pipe cause a back fire just like under accellerating load and lean? sorry that was long :( no more deaccellerating on dyno with short exhaust maybe?
Hey you may not read this but I’m shooting for the worlds highest horsepower gen 4 ls ~1800-2k at the crank but I will need a converter for my 6l90e and I need some suggestions because some of the suppliers down know where to start because of its weirdness because I will have quick spool valves and a china turbo the size of a s485 I think I’ll need a 4000-4400 converter stall and a 2200lb truck 4x4
