It's so funny how people flip shit over this, whether it was considered a combo or not because this guy could have escaped if he reacted in 0.2 seconds, it doesn't matter. I admire the skill.
I know, but I can't stand not being able to sprint and then jump by hitting up in a diagonal motion. To jump, you have to hit straight up, lessening your forward momentum.
Yeah, but after playing 64 brawl for so many years it seems natural to hit the up button to jump. Could you imagine playing a first person shooter with different controls than what you're used too?
Lilio Clearly I did. The title is the misleading part here. And no, the game does not "WRONGLY" reset the combo meter. That is how this mechanic was designed.
Marcos Zavala Well, if one thinks about the definition of a combo, or combination, it simply means that he is using multiple attacks and moves in sync to rack up the damage on the opponent without the opponent having the ability to respond. So if you look at the combo all the way through, it's technically 1 combo, even though the counter resets. The game resets the combo meter because the last thing to hit the opponent was the tornado though, and is registered as the combo ending, when in reality, it was being used to continue the combo.
***** It doesn't change the fact that the entire sequence is a true combo. Yes, the counter resets, but it is being incorrectly reset. Also I imagine the combo would be very difficult to get out of because there is no DI in Smash 64, only SDI, which barely changes your trajectory.
