Could have been worse. Ending the game in under 35min is merciful enough for me. Anything longer than that then they're just being toyed around. Note that I never play Turbo so I may not know proper fast game etiquette.
No herald matches are boring I wanna play with people equal to me. I lost my account because trash steam sending verification code to yahoo out of nowhere.

I've been playing dota 2 since the release. I reached divine 1. I quit dota for 10 months, i got unranked, i went 7-3 and lost ~600 MMR, i guess from innactivity. I quit again for 4 months and yes, unranked again, another -600 mmr. I went from divine 1 to archon 5 because ive been inactive for a couple of months. All these years of playing and the system just doesnt care, they just destroy your mmr if you quit for a couple of months, zero respect on all these hours someone has. I made a new account and now i'm divine 5 because i literally destroy games. MMR system needs A BIG UPDATE, something like get your peak mmr back or i dont know, something, because ive played on archon account with literally blind people who couldnt even press their buttons. I was 100% sure i was gonna be div/immortal on new account.
a friend of mine got calibrated to crusader 5 and is now on his way to herald. he sure was cocky about how good he is for a while but rank by rank he gets where he really belongs

@@Brian-uq6jm Especially since you have to realize that you have a duty as a better player. A bit of responsibility. I encountered a Bane recently, who was pulled along by friends of more experience. That poor Bane didn't know he could attack nightmared targets. I told him he could even as my team slowly started to lose against their fed mid. It's just fairness. There should be no pride in killing babies.
@@Interloper322 it was bullsht on my situation. Won 8/10 got good stats, balanced farming and fightign as an offlane. carried the game and still stuck at crusader lol. I was supposed to be ancient 1.
I had hit Divine 1 after a big grind from Archon a couple of years ago and I got so burned out that I didn't play for like a year and when I came back I mainly played on a different account with friends. It was almost 2 years before I played on my main again and I calibrated at Crusader 2. I'm now up to Ancient 3 and honestly I feel so bad for the people I've had to face because I really don't want to be vsing them but you just gotta do it to move up. Smurfing on main is a very sobering experience.
same here, I reached divine and left the game for nearly 5 years, came back and lost my calibration games, so I went down to herald 5, I'm back to legend again, but those herald games made me feel so bad for the people I was killing with my mid cm
😅 i have the same experience after so much grind from legend to becoming a divine 1 i stopped playing dota and later I got recalibrated to legend again not even ancient rank.
@@da4127 Same, reached divine and was completely burned out by doing that, so i didn't play for full year, came back and now im sitting in Crusader, and i can't even rank up because my account become cursed. But on the other hand i just forgot how to play Dota and i have no wish to ever learn it again to a high skill level.

hi guys just some of my experience of calibrating new rank system: my main account was Ancient 4 and stop plying since 2021 because toxic sea community. my smurf account was legend 2 and was created to smurf with my friend for turbo stacks (most of my friends are crusader 5, archon 5, legend 2-myself). we end up winning most of our turbo game throughout last 2 years (dominating most of our opponent since this is smurf account). we start noticing opponents significantly become stronger and believe this is our hidden mmr in turbo go up. sometime we matched against immortal rank in turbo which is hilarious and we did win them after tough fight (yes we try hard in turbo match/believe opponent also playing chill). only got to know opponent rank after games ended recently i start recalibrating my legend 2 account and i enter divine 5 match. got crushed so hard and system put me down to divine 1-2 matches. I start winning divine 1-2 recalibrating matches and system believe i am belonging to this rank. at 30% rank confidence i calibrate at Divine 2 (4962 mmr). so what i learned here for those stop dota 2 for long time and about to calibrate: -Play unranked or turbo games and check what hidden mmr rank you are currently at (you can check after match rank medal or through dotabuff since its hidden mmr). -once you dominate enough (good kda/high win streak) system will put your into higher rank and this will the start of your calibrating journey.

Damn valve calibration. My mmr last year was 7k. Stopped playing for a year due to work and recalibated last January. 8/10 midlaner. Ended up crusader 5 😐
Pretty believable imo. Rank decay exists and is awfully implemented in Dota 2. I dropped down from Divine I to low Ancient twice because I was inactive for a year or two, and that was a generous recalibration considering I won majority of my games. They say that if you deserve that rank, you can climb back up to it. That may be true, but people neglect the time and effort that it takes just to climb back up, even if you're good. If you have real life responsibilities too? Eat cow turd because you have to waste time playing games which are pointless since you've already proven yourself before (twice for me). Currently at Div 3 now but it's such BS.
i used to be guardian 5/ crusader 1 and got to archon 3 and have been winning most of my games as ppl are actually playing as i would expect them to play so much easier when team mates and even enemies are readable and not randomly going around sometimes

I sometimes forget to untag Mid lane, when playing Core Roles. I’m considering tanking my MMR to focus on Mid… but MMR is hard to earn just to learn 1 role, I don’t like managing multiple accounts, I have too many emails personal and online accounts for other things to manage another Steam account, and I have a ton of games on my main account, just to learn Mid. I main Offlane and I’m pretty fine with it, but against Juggernaut as Pudge my main, he is a PITA without a Silence or Phase Boots+Wind Lace.
I'm 4.5k mmr usually, got callibrated to herald and couldn't win a game to save my life. I honestly don't know how people win i games at that rank when your whole team feels like trolling
i lost last time from 4.5k mmr to 3k mmr in under a week. NEVER EVER GUYS play this game solo ladder. doesnt matter how good u are, some faceless void pos4 picker or some NP spammers in ur team will carry the enemy team harder then u could.
I thought my case was one of the worst ever since I lost 2.7k MMR after recalibration. But this pro player technically lost all of his MMR. Jesus F'in Christ.
God, I’m cringing for the invoker. I just couldn’t imagine trying to feel good about winning against someone with such skill differential. It’s just like makes me feel sad for both people involved. Like your life must be really shit if you have to get enjoyment that way. Like if I was in that position I’d genuinely feel bad for ruining these peoples games.

I was crusader 4 and after not playing for 2 years it recalibrated me to herald lol, after I did the second recalibration from the menu it put me to guardian now... wtf
ranks are manipulated this way. mmr is like a heroine that we voluntarily take on the hopes that we get high, but valve manipulates this to keep its players
It happens man, over years, I been playing since 2014, went from 5.7 to a guardiannow, cause of my ego and the toxicity I developed . The mindset of, team mates should do as I say is the biggest mmr destroyer.
I just got launched from Archon 2 (used to be Archon 5) down to Herald 3... Super ridiculous and frustrating. I'm a snowballer fighter, I get low GPM but high xpm by always making plays and protecting carries. This ruined my calibration, especially with low level players cause you have insane XP or gpm gaps. Game doesn't care about winning, it cares about graphs. I MVP'd my first 3 games in crusader/guardian brackets as P5. Can't even win games anymore half the time cause one team knows at least how to use their heros and the others are just afk.
I have a theory and it has to do something with the Server. I believe he recallibrated in different server. Since, there are no records of him playing in that particular server that is why he got Herald.
Its a bug when you lose with new hero (forgot her name) in caliberation u get placed in herald (im 7k i had herald 1/2/3 against me in my matches) i digged deeper into it and found them playing the new hero in calebration and losing Im waiting the bug to be fixed to do calebration on my account
Nobody talking about how he won games and still lost mmr? When he checks his recent games the rank goes down regardless of the outcome, 3 loss drop him from legend, wins drop him to herald?
Funny thing is support players still cant win as much as core players even in herald of they actually plays their role and not transition to semi support. Half of my losses are because of grieving cores while the other is due to my carry sucks. If a game gets to 35+ I always lose a game. Btw my wr is currently 53% so not all bad. I also win every game play carry. The only problem is I hate playing carry.
Back to dota after a few months (maybe almost half a year?) and was hoping to drop to like guardian for some happy game. MMR confidence at 0% and I keep losing (was ancient 5). At some point I keep losing until I got legend player (after about 5-6 lose streak). Won that and kept going to crusader. Somehow after a bunch of win I got ancient 1 :(
Damn,how does this happen. If he plays on like this from Herald, his account will be banned for smurfing or boosting (even though its not his fault) cos he will be crushing , way too performed for his rank until at least Divine .
