Ned technically nothing in the industry is “new” but to make visuals that are unlike any other visuals that we’ve been seeing in hip hop more recently, makes it innovative. “Innovative” can mean advanced, or to feature new methods. I think that is what Rocky’s visuals have been lately - better than everyone else’s that we’ve seen recently (along with Kendrick). I think he’s on his own wave. But I agree with the sentiment that people throw around the word “innovative” way too loosely. But I believe the usage in my original comment is still appropriate.

zayn riasat All these visuals he’s released to me personally makes the music sound better or makes me understand. I feel like in order to understand or visualize Testing (an arguably experimental rap album) we need visuals alongside this music. When the album released it was underrated because of surrounding drama with Kanye and Drake. If he released a visual album with this album people wouldn’t shit on it as much. Beyoncé did it twice! If he was the first rapper to do it it would have been legendary tbh. His videos aren’t subpar, they’re very well thought out and cohesively made with the concept he’s formulated. These two be FEEDING off one another. What a dynamic relationship these two have to be able to bring the best out of each other. Rocky one of the main reasons I started rapping and producing. I may not be as smooth or as confident on the mic as he is, but I’m not trying to be better. I’m just considering myself lucky to be a part of the same genre. I hope someday I can collab with someone who brings the same type of energy out of my own delivery that these two brought out of each other. Fire as always. 🔥🔥
