good kid, m.A.A.d city available now! smarturl.it/gkmc Music video by Kendrick Lamar performing Swimming Pools (Drank). (C) 2012 Aftermath/Interscope Records
I first saw this video in 2012 (BET, 106 & Park) and loved it immediately: I'm now 7 months sober (I became an alcoholic years after this song came out) and more captivated by the song than ever. It's an amazing song in every way, including the one you mentioned.
@@user-ol5bj4dm2v ok ok ok dude, tht was deep n all but it wasn't tht deep (a tinsy bit jelly) but anyway blah blah blah. I can't even come with something cause of carefully crafted this is. But bravo mate Bravo.
When this came out I was homeless, on drugs, and then jail. I now have a house, job, and husband. This song and “Clover Cage - In the Moment” are the two songs that helped get rid of my depression. I just want to send love to everyone and I want everyone to know things will get better. We are in this together..I love you ❤️
So, this song says so much to me personally. I became an alcoholic after my wife of 17 years cheated and has a baby by someone else. Finally free of alcoholism I still come listen every now and again.
oh my, im sorry to hear that😔. Its good to hear that u free urself from alcoholism. Stay strong man and keep up, u deserved better than her. Stay safe..
And the crazy thing you can make a Argument that it’s the worst song on gkmc not even saying it is or that it’s a bad song just saying gkmc is a top 5 album of all time and not even his best work king Kendrick is goated
Damn I remember being in H.S when this legendary track dropped. Sitting in the corner of the party by myself faded asf listening to this song and just absorbing the music. I miss those days man
He don’t got Kendrick In Live shows I tell you that Kendrick might come to your city and raise more hype than the local celeb like French lol Thugga a G too
2024 anyone here ? what a music right here a u t h e n t I c v i e w s dun took Kendrick Lamar oFf 2 da big leagues and fo dat I will always be super grateful
My aunt just passed away due to liver failure brought on by difficulties with alcohol. It's run in my family. She was 44. This song hits harder then ever.
It's been 6 years now that I lost the love of my life because of my alcoholic and drug habits at this period of my life. I was into deep struggle and depression, stopped working (I was a pharmaceutical engineer, irony), did some psychiatric hospital... lost all my confidence and didn't know who I was, lost friends, disappointed my parents... Today I'm sober and I'm so proud of me, even if I have ofc regrets about this situation, but I handled it, as I could. This song is just the song of my life. When I started to listen to this song I was beginning the worst, and today I'm listening to it and ending the cycle. It's not about yesterday, not about tomorrow, it's NOW ! Even if you're 6 feet deep, remember, you can do it. So stay blessed. And be aware of your environment. The solution won't come from nowhere, but from yourself. Thank you Kendrick.
how this underrated i remember every radio station playing this song 24×7 for months, it was everywhere. this song and August Alsina - I Luv This Shit & Drake Hold On, We're Going Home the most played songs in the radio like ..ever it was crazy.
to this date, it's a fucking masterpiece. Nothing beats a u t h e n t I c v i e w s when you're tryna level up to the big singers and get that same popularity they got. Even Kendrick Lamar got a boost from that.
I just find it amazing how so many people in the world had this video on their minds as the same time as others. Your comment was written 15 minutes ago and this video is 8 years old. Hip hop never dies!!!!!!!
@Actually, Movies in the greater context of the album it's very obviously a criticism; it's treated as a remedy to kendrick's shock after being jumped and his life threatened, and it turns out completely ineffective as shown in kendrick's extremely conscious and alienated tone in the lyrics
@Actually, Movies “some people wanna fit in with the popular, that was my problem” that's an obvious criticism of youth's alcohol abuse when it comes to social interaction, like I said... pay more attention to the lyrics
@Actually, Movies bro its obviously bad. He is talking about it in a bad way. “some people wanna fit in with the popular that was my problem” “if I take another down imma drown in some poison im losing my limit” (or atleast what I think is what he says in that specific verse)
@@Conkerkid11 well no shit it’s increased, ridiculous lockdowns for a virus with a 99.9 percent chance of survival, a president no one voted for, communist clowns in every position of power across the entire world, a war on freedom and humanity. And you wonder why people are resorting to alcohol as a means of escaping?
This is when I first started listening to him. I was high AF in the backseat of the car driving with friends and bumping this song with no care in the world! Damn, brings back good memories hahah
Kendrick Lamar dun went in soo hard on this right here, Kendrick Lamar is da GOAT! Im so glad he found a u t h e n t I c v i e w s to have his career take off
People saying Lamar should have won a Grammy, don't realize how the Grammies work. Grammy awards are for cheesy mainstream music or are a popularity contest. Lamar's music is way too specific, serious, and not radio friendly enough to win a Grammy.
This is probably one of Kendricks most famous songs because everyone even if they don’t know who Kendrick is would recognize the song if not the beat atleast
old? 2013? I'm sorry but good music doesn't get old terrible music does. also to me 2013 isn't that old just good music the new music these days do get old but stuff like this song never age another word for this is "Never gets Old."
It's a shame the single version is shortened. The final verse after this is so powerful and really helps convey the meaning of the song for all the people who don't actually understand what Kendrick is saying here.
it's a fucking masterpiece. Kendrick Lamar dun took off HAM ON THIS RIGHT HERE! a u t h e n t I c v i e w s dun took his career off 2 the next level fr fr no cap
I'd say I'm a mix between the 1st one and the last one. When Kendrick dropped songs that was a great time in my life ngl. So now I come back to his songs to relive all the memories.
