I have 2 of these amazing Vs and I’m here to tell everyone here that they look play and sound amazing right out of the box. The only upgrade I do and recommend is putting locking tuners on them but that’s it!
WOW! I didn’t think it would be PLAYABLE, let alone comfortable when sitting down, but as you’ve found, it’s actually PERFECT for sitting down with! In fact, that’s almost the perfect classical position! It almost makes me want to try one now!
I just received this EXACT same guitar yesterday!!! Pretty much FLAWLESS finish. Action way to high, etc. needs a setup but for the price it's great. I also picked up an Explorer and Pegasus which just arrived 15 minutes ago and BOTH are in Blueberry. :)
I have 14 and 7 of them are Fireflys from throughout 2021. I keep saying “one more” then they replicate another beauty. B@$$Turds keep gettin’ me in hot water with the wife. I have the Nashville Tele as the latest, It’s been at the office for weeks cuz I’m too chickenshyt to walk thru the door with it. 🫣
I was going to get one of these in the flame Maple top and I saw they were running a special on a walnut one for 197. It had the traditional stop piece rather than through the body. It arrived and it is awesome! All I had to do for setup was adjust the intonation and I was ready to rock.
These are fantastic guitars! I also have a few of the FireFly Explorers. Absolutely phenomenal! Great looks, incredible fretwork and fantastic playability and sound. Just wow!~
I recently purchased the sunburst v from Firefly. I basically was feeling reminiscent of the old Hamer and Dean ones, and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of this damn thing I can't believe they can make these guitars so good for such a cheap price
@@TheTapeFarm I'm getting back into it after thirty years plus my doctor's say it's good exercise for my hands because of chronic nerve condition that I have. I really rue the day I cut my hair and sold all my equipment lol🤣🤣
@@erniebest9045 I hear ya. My hands get worse everyday. Arthritis, carpal tunnel, trigger finger operations on literally every finger on on both hands. Getting old sucks… but it beats the alternative.
@@TheTapeFarm you told that right brother, I have CIDP I been totally paralyzed twice hospitalized 9 times since last July. But I refuse to let it get me down though.
I have the Blueberry Burst Explorer with the black and white pickups. Guitar is beautiful and plays great. I like how they give you a pick guard, so they give you the choice. Well worth the money.
Very much enjoy your Channel. I also own a FF-the 338. Like it. Here’s my question for you: Since they reached out to you and gave you the guitar gratis-are you at all thinking that they picked out a guitar went over it really well so as to not get a bad review from you? Just curious to know what you think about it? After all, a good review from you to all of your subscribers would be a very good thing for GuitarsGarden & Firefly Guitars. Thanks for the review-keep ‘em coming. Stay well, Brother👍🎸
I’m 95% sure this was not gone over before it was sent out. Mainly because of how I needed to give my information for shipping. Let’s just say it was very “transaction like” without going into to much detail. Thanks for checking it out.
For my first Firefly, I couldn't resist the green burst V with bat inlays. Mine weighs in at 6.4# with the stop tailpiece. I had to adjust the truss rod. I forget which way it was bowed. (I caved on the JA baritone a few days later and it came bowed the other direction! Both bows were significant. The rest I've gotten since were okay, just adjusted for preference.) The pickups on my V are presumably different ones, since they have covers. I wish FF would mark their pickups so we knew what was what!
I got this same exact guitar. I love it. But mine DID have the saddle buzz. I can make it stop, but it always starts again, mid solo. What one do you use for a swap out?
I'm not a huge V guy, and I definitely prefer the explorer one you reviewed better. So I'm similar to you I guess, because I'm actually kind of into this V, it looks cool. I still like the other shape better, but I like it, although I'm not a V guy. Dave Mustaine would be mad at me for saying that lol
Yeah… I’ve heard that DiMarzio owns the patent on double cream bobbins…the only other double cream pickups I’ve seen are some Wilkinsons I picked up on eBay for an LP project I was working on. Canada deserves better!! You guy are like my 2nd favorite country!!
Holy cow man! That is a great sound coming out of the Firefly. Did you mod the guitar in any way? I understand the pickups are Ceramic on these guitars correct? What Amp or Amp simulation software are you using? So I guess you can recommend this guitar? Sorry for the many questions.
Thanks. I have a question for you can you recommend a guitar or a budget guitar with a Whammy Bar? I prefer it to a humbucker guitar and no Floyd rose. I don't like Floyd Rose guitars.
@@TheTapeFarm Really light trémolo. I play a lot of classic rock, AC/CD, Zeppelin, 38 Special. On some song a whammy is used like Barracuda, Surf music and just a little bit, not alot of Halen .
I tend not to put to much into reviews by RU-vidrs that are sent guitars for a review . First is it honest second did firefly send you a hand picked and so called special guitar .
@@TheTapeFarm It's not your integrity in question it's theirs. Did they send you a guitar off the rack or did they have a luthier put a few hundred dollars worth of work into it first?
@@JD-vj4go I’ve been sent a few guitars by Firefly. I can say based on a preponderance of the evidence, they did not go over the guitars before sending them out. I gotten some good ones and some bad ones. Check out a review I did on the FFLG with P90s. It came in with a badly front bowed neck amongst other issues.
Actually that has not been my experience. I’ve had other guitars they sent me that needed some work. Most folks who got these were very happy with them.
