This bike is a work of art. I think HD should throw the museum a sponsorship for all of the work these guys do to preserve the history and stories behind these legendary bikes. Matt is amazing and I love listening to the story of each bike.

There's so many contests with great prizes yet most people opt for the cash alternative prize. This is one of those exceptions we're I'd definitely prefer the actual prize over any cash value. That thing would not become a garage queen either! That's an everyday driver for many of us buying tickets. Some go to a museum to see history, some of us drive history for others to see and hear.

Many old Harley manuals tell you to lay the bike on it's side for engine removal. Anyone that's struggled putting an engine in soon realizes the wisdom in that print.

Yep I had a 84 HD sportster Roadster for many years look it up they were only made for a few years that had the FXR style tanks in these years but I decided to go through and rebuild mine years ago doing custom paint and chrome and had the engine built balanced with a bunch of go fast goodies so it was making well over 100 + HP when it was dynoed but these engines are a tight fit in the frames on these years so the easiest way to get them in and out is to lay the frame on it's side and when I put my engine back in I used thick duct tape and cardboard to help keep the frame from being scratched when installing being the frame was also painted to match the color of the tanks and fenders which was House of colors candy tangerine orange . I had the bike several years after then sold it to a guy and it got stolen as I got a phone call from him asking if I had any pictures of the bike when it was completed and said yes because he needed proof of what the bike looked like besides what parts receipts I gave him along with the engine build sheets and Dyno sheets so he could try to get insurance to pay for the bike being stolen . At the time he lived in an apartment and didn't have a garage and had worked out something with this old lady next door to pay her to let him keep the bike in her garage but he never got a key so when he would come home after riding he would contact her to park the bike in the garage and one day she wasn't around so he left the bike sitting outside not sure if he locked the fork or not but it got stolen . I told him I wanted the picture back but never did get it back and I don't think the bike was ever recovered that I know of . I lived in MPLS MN at the time and the local biker gang the Hell's Angels had a shop a few blocks away and Pat Matters the president of the Hell's Angels MPLS club had got busted at his house with drugs and 800,000 cash and a bunch of stolen bikes and parts I read years after I moved the hell out of that cesspool so I bet they ended up with my old bike that I sold . I know for a fact that they had the El forsteros driving around in vans stealing bikes for them with usually a couple guys in the back of the van to go spot bikes then either wheel them into the van or just lift them into the van I had heard and seen plain white panel vans at bars that would drive in and out probably looking for bike to hit and steal . I at least have a couple pictures of the bike still before and after to bring back memories of it but what a shame that it got stolen but at least it wasn't on my watch .

When my shop is busy, I will do a couple in and outs a day. Never have figured out why anyone would want to do it sideways, everything is under tension the wrong way. You can completely unbolt the engine, and it will just sit there. Then hug the cylinders and lift with your knees. I'm 57, busted up ex racer. If I can do it, . . .

Buddies had old knuckles and pans in the late 70's and early 80's out here in Cali BUT none are as Beautiful as this is surely going to be... This is what a Motorcycle is supposed to be. Pushrods, Fabulous heads, Spoke rims, Springer Forks... If I could try, I would. I'm actually very excited for the Winner as they will definitely be getting one of the prettiest Harleys in the Country, if not the World...

All vehicles need pair of lungs that one water tank and HHO generator, current engine product is not already mature, Water tank and HHO generator replacing the gasoline and diesel tank as lungs this how to perfecting the current ICE and FuelCell vehicles digestion. And KOH solution, NaoH solution, ammonia solution or even animal waste filter result solution is vehicles fuel by use HHO generator and its reaction inside that machine is come hydrogen, that is what driver, pilot and rider need to feed his vehicles. Future is not hydrogen tank but HHO generator unit in vehicles.

I worked one summer at the local army reserve installation here in my town. The Seargent in command had purchased a crate engine from military surplus. It came with suicide shift. I don't recall the year but he left off a bit of the military extras and made it a stripped down rider. One major issue he had was that he had to wrench on the bike every so often to keep everything from rattling loose. He eventually cut slots in the bolts and other parts and using bailing wire devised a way to keep most everything snug and rattle free.
