Honestly I have around 16 baitcasters. Abu. Shimano. And lews. I use the lews classic more than any of my others. Just an all around good to for everything.
Came across a display on a back end CAP in Walmart, $35.00. Wasn't thinking much about it and as wife and I were walking away, I just glanced at my phone and on the Lew's Community Group, someone mentioned they just got one at WM, also for $35.00 and was a decent combo. Wife wanted one as I don't let her use my higher end rods/reels. Picked it up, about to disassemble, lube/grease it and spool it up with some braid and see how it does for her.
. @Sk8Riffer @jxbx80 I bought one of these as my first baitcaster. The brakes were really tight on mine as well. It casts really well and has been a great learning combo. Definitely can't beat the $35-$40 pricetag.
I like the cork on the pole I just got one with the cork don't like the fome. Not classic style to me. I got my Lew's classic in Walmart for $$35 only in store on clearance great buy for any price point.
I got that red smash combo i love that thing, and i used to use 40 oound braid but now i only use around 15 or 20 pound braid,i also picked up the lews american hero baitcasters gor 50 dollars at dicks today on sale
@@Sk8Riffer so I just got this combo and some hookups today on it, 15 lb braid might bite into itself on the reel I think 30 is the lowest. I spooled up 30 lb hi-viz and am getting damn near 100 foot casts with a 1/4 ounce lure. This combo feels almost like a mach lmao and for $40 dollars seems like an absolute steal. Yeah it's a 6.4 ratio and not the 7.5 like the 'pro' one but I don't care, way better value and not a lot of bass up here so I'm snagging up trout on it. Excellent combo (in my mind)
