I actually bought my first baitcaster "ozark trail" $34 to learn how to use one. I still have it and I still use it. I actually used it today! Great way to learn how to use one.
😢 I live in an area in Georgia where there isn’t great fishing. I grew up in Florida fishing EVERY day so. His vids make me feel sad about that. Still like his and yakpacks vids tho.
Rod/reel combo with fishing kit as an emergency setup ru-vid.comUgkxntWMOZsO1Zfv-pdn_XuffEtNkTYAYu4Z recommend but started to use this every day. The rod is thick and seems durable. I keep it neatly tucked into a regular backpack all the time with my fishing gear, and can grab it anytime, put it on my back and go anywhere. I just read in another review that the rod length below the reel is adjustable as well, so I will try that too for even more portability. Probably the best setup I've ever owned. I lost the cap for the eyelets, but no big deal since I still have the black cloth sheath that came for the pole and I use that. Very portable and high quality.
I’ve had this rod for almost a year and it’s still my fav. All I’ve done is change the line to 12 pound test and I’ve even caught sharks on it and a manta ray on it. It’s a really solid rod and reel and highly recommend getting it
I’m getting into fishing and own 2 spinning rods and want to get into baitcasters. So I’m learning from you and started watching your videos a few weeks back. Love it!! I’m pumped up!! 😎🎣🙌
Make sure you look up how to setup your drag and brake system before you head out! Using your first baitcaster can be a nightmare if you're not prepared!
You have to appreciate Norms absolute love of fishing. Always happy no matter what je catches even if it means wrecking his Yeazzies. On a side note, pick a young new angler for this reel, I have more then I need to fish with and they could always use the help.
I’ve been a fishing all my life but after I started I watching you I’ve had a whole different perspective for fishing, thank you brother. Keep up the good work
I've been trying to get this combo since the beginning of time!!! Every walmart in my surrounding area doesn't have it. I'm so glad you did a review on it. This would be a good beginner baitcaster for me. Thanks for the vid norm and thumbs up as always!!!
Thank you for showing us some good deals, I have been wanting to get a bait caster to learn on, gotta love this videos they always have so much good information.
I use them for everything. Drift fishing rivers is awesome with baitcasters. I’ve been using any Garcia revoX baitcasters and spinning reels for years. Underrated. Breaking is great on them. Though the X series is 100 bucks and up. Hate to be the one, though abu Garcia makes better reels than lews, and lews makes better rods than abu Garcia. I mix the two. Great combo to mix.
I’m actually impressed with most of the Ozark Trail things I own. I have numerous YETI style cups that are just as good as the YETI but 1/3 the price and also I have a couple coolers and tackle bags that are legit that I’ve had for years now. Can’t speak for all of it, but I’ve had good luck with Ozark products so far 🤞🏻
I just got my first bait caster last spring, used and needing repair, so I ordered parts and rebuilt it, then learned how to use it. I fell in love with them. I have since added two new ones, and I use them for everything except pan fish and catfish.
My kids and I love watching your videos. My oldest is 13 and we have never used baitcasters. Think this one would be good enough to get started on and practice. Dont mind spending $300 later on once we learn to use one
Has anyone else noticed norm always does good when he does challenges with crappy gear 😂 would love a new baitcaster I have only had one for a while ❤️ keep up the good work 🎣
I just got into fishing again not long ago and picked up a bait caster for the first time and I’m loving it so far thanks to your videos!! 🎣 I prefer it over spinning reels!
Always fished with spinning reels but Ive been wanting to try baitcaster reels. Will be definitely looking into fishing with them this summer. You and Yak Pak have shown me alot about them.
I’ve always been privy to spinning rods and reels because that’s what I was raised on, but I’ve been wanting to try a bait caster for a while now!!! ❤️❤️❤️
From KY and watching everyone's fishing vid's. I use jawbone rod / bait caster reel with any size line. Rivers, Lakes, Creeks.. Bank Fishing Adventures.
Lol I started out fishing every day with my friend with a Zebco. We didn't catch anything but we always had fun! I remember seeing him get this and feel super jealous. He doesn't use the reel, but he uses the rod every day!
Yes i feel the exact same way about the person and the pond thing you just automatically assume they are competing and you just get a bad feeling about them😂
Hahaha good video my friend and I call it swamp foot. lmao 🤣 I have lost my foot multiple times in the water but never wore good sneakers I buy cheap $10 shoes from Walmart for fishing only! 😆 But its because I am the same way you are and I always say the things i do for fishing!!
every since i learned how to use a bait caster they have become my favorite reels to use. just havent been able to afford one of the better quality reels but not doing bad with the ones that i have.
