Completely agree with everything said in this review. Video and lighting quality coupled with the honest and knowledgeable presenter, is what made me subscribe to this channel. Suggestion to include an outside section with natural/direct sunlight.
It really looks a great watch especially for me as I have fairly thin wrist and I like basic designs and no date watches. The cons you mentioned: 1. Mineral crystal: yes, they should charge more and make it with saphire, not much we can do about it. 2. Stupid logo and writings: they should make it without those as well, like many other brands like San Martin. You can choose between branded and sterile dial options. 3. 19mm lug with: you right, 18mm and 20mm are so common that they should choose one of them instead of 19mm. But a 20mm NATO strap would work just fine, I did it already with my very similar old Seiko 5s, with no problem at all (they are 19mm as well). 4. Lume: very easy solution, IF they would do it: everything remains the very same (hands, indexes), except the dial material/coating, introducing a 4th version with a full lume dial. That would do the trick and I love full lume dials.
Came to your channel from your AliEx review; I have the sand dial version & find the contrast against the polished hands make it much more readable in lower light levels. For the cost I didn't expect it to be quite so good. I don't mind the logo on the dial, nor the other lettering & as you say the dauphine hands are lovely & perfectly proportioned. Yep, the bracelet was a bit squeaky out of the box & is a bit rattly overall but is much improved with some light machine oil on the pivot points, especially the first bracelet link onto the female end links, where my squeak was worst. To get such a comfortable, well-articulated solid link bracelet with solid end links too at this price point is quite astonishing. On my example the end links are also flush & tight to the case with zero movement. I've honestly tried on some Grand Seiko's & been less impressed than this watch, so that's saying something. Obviously a box-sapphire crystal would've been the icing on the cake, but I still think it's the price/performance ratio that puts this watch into another league and makes it so good.

I have one of the sand dials and an AD2123-1 Explorer and am extremely happy with them. The mecaquartz movements are great and I doubt I will ever buy an auto watch again. For the price I think we are lucky to get a bracelet and not just a cheap Nato strap. I hope Addiesdive brings out more versions of this watch eg a sunburst with baton hands and an Explorer with applied indices (like the AD 2112). We would be right finding faults on Rolexs given the price but these Addiesdive mecaquartz are brilliant given their price.
Yup totally agree. I know I mentioned the negatives about the watch, but let’s not forget the price they are asking for this. It’s an amazing deal. I keep grabbing this watch every morning instead of my other mechanical watches
A 46mm L2L, while not big in absolute terms, is actually pretty long for a 36mm watch. I would prefer no more than 42/43mm for a watch this size. But that’s because I have 6.25” wrists.
Pagani Design have a similar watch to this but with lume and sapphire with the VH-31 and the shard style hands. But I must admit the dial looks really neat on this one, I'll probably have to pick one up lol
THe branding and the logo are fine. The worst thing on this watch is the clasp and the gap it has between the clasp and the bracelet. Most Ali watches have that problem. As I always say, you will never find that on any known brand no matter how cheap the watch is, $40 or $1400. 2:56 and 7:01 You know your stuff. Subscribed
Nice watch. I would assume the Escapement Time would be a better alternative, since it has (if I have this correctly) a sapphire crystal, VH31 movement, 50M water resistance, 40mm case, 20mm lug width, screw down crown, etc -- at a similar price. Hopefully Addiesdive can make some modifications.
The only spec on the ET I would call better is the crystal. Otherwise it’s inferior in every possible way. Edges are too smoothed over, basically overpolished
Great review. It’s seems like an Aliexpress Watch from 4 / 5 years ago. Great looking for a great price but missing some key ingredients that will stop many people from buying it. I would gladly pay $20 more if they addressed all the issues you brought up.
Such a good looking watch and premium quality, but I wished they would just use the text addiesdive as logo and remove what’s above. It doesn’t look good on a dress watch.
@@HHWatchReviews that’s the biggest issue that I notice micro-brands have, great watch quality but they just can’t figure out a decent looking logo. San Martin is a prime example. That hexagon logo is one of the worst.
Addiesdive could NOT have "easily added .5mm to each side of the lug." because Addiesdive does not make the watch cases. They could have easily bought 20mm lug cases, but the 19mm were probably less expensive. I've worn a Fossil Arkitekt Diamond, every single day, for 18 years. It was manufactured decades before sapphire crystal, or even gorilla glass, was ever conceived of. It's taken a beating, for sure, but the vaunted "Sapphire crystal" would look the same after 2 decades of daily use as well, and no one will convince me otherwise. *_STOP ASKING FOR MORE EXPENSIVE STUFF, JUST BECAUSE IT'S THE HOT NEW TOY!!!!!_* That is so dumb. This watch is the bargain of the century, and all you goofy RU-vid reviewers can manage to do is to keep begging for it not to be. What is wrong with you people???
