A-10 WARTHOG FROM THE COCKPIT | RC JET PAN & TILT HEAD TRACKED DJI FPV PILOT FIGURE CONVERSION
Inspired by my friend Gui, who converted a pilot to a pan/tilt mechanism for his Freewing L-39, I decided to do the same for the FMS A-10 Warthog. Not easy and very fiddly but certainly looks better than using a pan/tilt frame. Looking forward to the maiden flight soon !

I like how you made the pilot, rather than just putting the camera in their and the view is good. Just need to clean up the left over clear plastic so we only see the black frame.

The pilot looks great. I have been using the 180 degree servo MG180 for the pan and you can look out the wings with that. Also, I would remove that center plastic as well and trim the edges smooth. Looks great!

For anyone interested... AndyRC has a good recent YT guide on setting up an arduino headtracker.. which is even wireless, its a nice mod for the DJI goggles, it uses a screw on case/module intended for analogue fpv to take power from the goggle battery via a Y splitter and a Bluetooth arduino board is installed The Frsky Horus Bluetooth module solders directly into a pre-designated space on my Radiomaster TX16S which can then be switched on during re-installing opentx by ticking the 'enable Bluetooth' box. Total cost is aprox £60 and some basic soldering skills are required.

Great video, thanks for sharing. I am in the process of testing my own DJI setup on a Eflite Viper and you are right take it one step at a time. I flew my first flight and I just set my goggles on my truck tailgate while I flew LOS to get a feel for any possible video breakup etc. Video came out great but I am also realizing I do not have enough pan (side to side). I am waiting on some 2.2ohm resisters and will hopefully be able to mod the pan servo to rotate a full 180deg vs the 100deg I am getting now which I thought would be enough but the DJI cameras have a much more narrow field vs some standard analog cameras. I am hoping I can con the wife into coming out to the field to spot me on my first flight LOL.

@@EssentialRC Agreed. I threw mine on a funcub. Was great until 2nd flight when I discovered that the 3 cell I was using for the video transmitter had a bad cell. Doh!

Very cool! But I have to critique one thing. I get the AK tail flash for the paint scheme, but the AFRC and nose art belong to the 442d FW at Whiteman AFB, Mo. I know it looks cool, but it’s a gross misrepresentation of both AK and KC tails. All that said, this is the first time I’ve seen anyone do a cockpit view in a RC plane and it’s absolutely amazing!

The scheme comes pre-applied with the jet and if it's wrong not a lot I can do about it.

Possible cool feature or utter waste of time but... teeny tiny mirrors for the canopy? Very nice though and the halo effect on the ground shadow was awesome 👌

That's great. The quality is amazing with these cameras, is that the same resolution live in the goggles? Looks to be very hard to judge height if flying through the goggles.

What you see in this video is what I see in the goggles. Landing this FOV will be much easier than landing the Spitfire but still achievable. It's just practice.

Take the cover off the lens buy another canopy without black detailed vinyling. you can tune the cam to auto light and dim transitioning. like the immersion rc drone quads have in the vtx sett up wizard.
